I love this man... he's delightful, full of fun & laughter, and wonderful company. Everything was joyful to him. And, he's clever and full of knowledge to share. Love it. So fun to see. :) (Thanks for the subtitles)
Joy C You are welcome! (Sorry for the little bit late reply...) Yes, this was really a lovely man and a great episode. They probably didn't expect this, when they arrived at night to a solar energy man. But he was so much more than that.
As this episode ended, I suddenly realized that I had been smiling for the longest time! What a lovely episode, they made that guy's day (night?) with their interest, enthusiasm and applause. Of course, the fact that he couldn't demonstrate his solar inventions didn't matter, because the boys just carried on doing what they do best - commenting on and questioning things they see around the house, and turning it all into a great interview. And I love how they always just make themselves right at home in strangers' homes.
How did I miss this one?! This was a great episode; the man they visited was so interesting and pleasant. And then for no reason Vegard wrapped Bård in plastic like a sandwich. Very random and fun.
TaiChiKnees I think it so fun that Bård say "You've done this before" to her, like she sort of had the habit of releasing wrapped up men from plastic... ;) And this man is so lovely. I think he would've deserved the title "Norges Herligste". He's one of my absolute favorites. I think it would be fun if they did a follow up and revisited the people from Norges Herligste. Or invited them to IKMY or something. I wouldn't mind seeing this man again at least.

The Italian part: B&V: Buon giorno! Buon giorno Italia! B: Tutto bene? (Are you ok?) V: Scusi Signore, lei ha fatto la spesa, vero? (Excuse me Sir, you've been shopping, right?) Ha comprato? (Did you buy something?) ..alla frutta, al latte. (..To fruit, to milk) B: Leche? Latte? (As in the vid.) V: Latte. B: I'm stuck (As in the vid.) V: Ha comprato vino? (Did you buy wine?) Then they're messing up words that are not even Italian lol Btw, thumbs up for Vegard's perfect Italian pronounciation tho! Ps. I did it to make a favor and be some help to anyone who was wondering what he says :)
Vegard seems to have a bloody fantastic ear for languages. Even his faux Mandarin sounds like it should be making perfect sense. No wonder the poor Dutch were confused.
Thank you for the Italian translation! I think his excellent ear for languages is connected to his musicality, that he knows the melody of a language even if he doesn't know the lyrics, the words.
Quirentia It's easier for Europeans to read and have a good pronunciation of other European languages! Tha fact that he has a very good ear for that made it perfectly ^^ Thanks to you, I hope I didn't bother you for that, I thought it could have been an help and a favor!

I loved him in this episode, he is such a sweethearts. Anyone else noticing that in this series they visit around 90% men. Why is that? Why so few women?
I kind of love the fact that 75% of that sentence was in English in the original. Bård really does seem to love tossing random English into his speech.

This was absolutely delightful to watch. Bård is so handsome sitting in front of the car in the beginning. Great subbing as always Quirentia;), but since you're swedish, than maybe you didn't hear the old man say: "Nei dæven for et håndtrykk" til Bård at 1:03?;)
Quirentia At 9.57 after the song, the guy also says "Nei, kor dere syng, gutta" and Bård replies "I like måte" which also doesn`t seem to made it into the subtitles... but then again, they`re just stating the obvious, aren`t they ;o)
What a jolly guy! I read a stυdy recently on parabolic reflectors, and they are trickier to make than you'd think. Also, leave it to Ylvis to make the best out of a tough situation!
