Maya The Puga No, the dna test showed that Calle was more prone to addiction. So he must stay "more" away from heroin than ylvis. It's a joke on the word 'more', seeing as they all obviously stay clear of it. Not sure about the weed though. ;)
Has it gone 3 years without anyone correcting you?? wow. Internet, you disappoint me. Calle had typical genes, that means average. While Bård and Vegard had significantly higher risk. This means that Calle is not less prone to addiction than the average population. But he is less prone than the Ylvis-brothers.
Vegard's face when she's like "Bård and Calle are 100% European," and he looks like he's terrified that that joke about him being adopted might actually be true. Although the Turkish thing actually being 0.7% true is amazing.
Also because Ylvis have deep family roots in rural western Norway. In the mountaineous Sognefjord. Few people can boast Turkish "grandpas" there. Few people live there...
Their reaction upon being told hey were 100% European would be denounced as racist in he United States. It's good to see people of European descent to be proud of their ancestry without being shamed as racists as the media in the States routinely does.
Aillas I don't think it would be denounced as racist, per say, but there's no denying there's something of an inherent implication of European superiority that might be frowned upon. I don't think there's anything wrong with being proud of one's heritage, it's just worth noting that European privilege is very real, and one should take that into account.
Summer Leppanen You must not live in America if you think their actions wouldn't be denounced as racist. EVERY newscast EVERY day in the United States has a least one story about racism (this when America has an African-American president). Racial issues is what the news in America is all about.
Aillas I am very much American, actually. And I mean by reasonable human beings, not American media. The media I try to avoid because... well, it itself is racist and sexist and full of general bullshit.

Glad to be european :) However, must say that Vegards 0,7% of non-european genes have done an excellent job.
This was so funny, i feel bad when the girl said that vegard it's only 99.3 european and he's face was just like: WHAT?? and he joke about being turkish xDDD and i really loved when they took the heat test and calle had to look down to see if the candle was up or down. These guys are beyond funny i totally loved them
This was so fun to see Bard, Vegard, and Calle joking around as they got the results of the tests. They can make anything into a laugh. Typical brother stuff too. Of course, they HAD to do the heat test. I am a fan.
Easiest language to learn for English speakers (in my opinion). It might be harder if you aren't surrounded by Norwegians though.. but it is a lot funnier to hear them say the jokes than to read them. Sometimes its more about how things were said, than what.
Norwegian is a Germanic language so alot of words sound similar or/and is written similar to german. Stuhl (ger) = Stol (nor) = Chair (eng) Schule (ger) = Skole (nor) = School (eng) and so on. So its pretty easy for a norwegian to learn the german lanugage and the other way around :)
How funny. I stumbled upon Ylvis because I took a DNA test, which revealed that I'm a quarter Scandinavian. Came as news to me and my family. So I went online to learn more. These men are hilarious.
It was so funny that Vegard and Bard had to take their hands off the candles almost at the same time, and Calle is saying "Really, so soon!". Way to go, Calle!
One of my favourite interviews on this or any talk show, ever! I come back to it whenever I need a good laugh. As always, thank you Facebookies for all you do!
Actually BOTH of their parents have dark hair and eyes. In fact, their mother has dark hair and curls just like Vegard. It's actually very common for Europeans from anywhere Europe to have a minor percentage of "something else" in their genes. 0,7 % is nothing special at all. They just exaggerated it for "show value" and because they know that most people don't know enough about the subject to know how extremely little of a sensation it is. plenty of Norwegians/other euros share Vegards results.
What a cute bunch! Did not know that the Ylvis brothers were in their 30's and that Vegard even has three kids!! He is very good looking, good for him :)
***** actually, Vegard and Bard both have 3 kids, and Bard has 2 girls, but only sofie was on the show. Nora wasnt. He also has a son, Jens, but he is small. Vegard has a daughter named Emma, but she is little, A two year old son and and infant son
yeah, i have seen those.. bård can really be quite the annoying little brother sometimes! but being brothers i am sure they love eachother anyway :) also i am not sure if it really bothers him.. vegard has said before that he isnt able to talk about feelings and is not much of an emotional guy, so maybe the mocking doesnt sink in... :) - and they probably act different towards eachother on and off screen.. (at least i hope so - my feelings cant handle if it actually makes him sad.. :( )
I love this so much :D It's always so hilarious when they make fun of Vegard's looks! He does have a bit of an "exotic" look, I want to know more about his heredity.
I have to say I hate this one and I knew I would. I love Vegard and I think they don't give him enough credit. He is a fantastic singer, very handsome and talented.
Well I don`t know how much credibility the 23&Me tests are given on daily bases, but in this case they are clearly just using it for entertainment purposes, not to discover some Higher Meaning of Life. (Thankfully.)
All depends on context. Moderate sensitivity but great resistance is best I think. If you can perceive a problem but it doesn't cripple you. There's no use to doubling over for every small inconvenience.
The FDA asked 23andme to stop doing tests in the US for a while because people get the results and freak out. Also the FDA couldn't verify the quality standards on the tests run. Just FYI *shrug*
Interesting, this is still one of my favorite scenes from I Kveld med Ylvis. How did you find out? Did you try to contact 23&me? I'm just curious. It would be funny to do with friends.
***** As far as I know, 23andme isn't doing the health-related test for consumers in the United States at the request of the FDA. You can find out what countries your ancestors came from. Of course everyone in the US is pretty much a mixed breed after the third generation.
TaiChiKnees You're right about 23&ME. They have a disclaimer at the top of their website that they no longer do health related genetic reports. It's $99 to get a detailed report of the nationalities of your ancestors.
I don't know why I feel sorry for Vegard. He seemed to be a little bit sad that (according to the test) his brother has genetically higher reading skills than him. But hey! It doesn't mean that practically he doesn't have as high reading skills as Bård. But you cans sense a slight bitterness in his face. I want to hug him and tell him "Don't listen to that! You are as good as him, probably even better!" But I wouldn't do that. He's a grown and exciting man. A test like that couldn't affect him!
Bard and Vegard very alike actually. Sometimes I confusing them. They have just different hair colour and hair shape. Their face features are very alike. I think the most Norvegian (or European) looking one is Calle in here. Vegard is not looks so European too, to me. I mean, hair colour yes but facial features could have Asian DNA. Anyway, these tests are bullshits. Don't give your money for them. Not everyone could these tests. Even Nat.Geo doesn't accept everyone's claim for test. THERE IS NO DATA, AND THESE RESULTS ARE JUST SIMILARITIES OF DATAS.
***** Didn't mean to be rude at all, I love these guys! I was so happy when I found a 10 mins long video from their show, and then realized I can't find the subs. I swear there wasn't a CC button before (then reloaded the page and suddenly had one). My bad! Sorry. Thank you though.
***** There's one subtitle service that puts automatic subtitles and even when they are speaking English, the subtitles are wrong. This one looks good though. I love this. Thanks for all the fun videos.
It's not a huge difference. 99.3% vs. 100%. It's nothing. Your genes result from a combination of your parents genes, which are a combination of their parents genes, so on and so forth. they can mix and combine in different ways each time.
You have to turn them on, by clicking the small rectangular icon that looks like an envelope in the video window. But I've heard it doesn't work on mobile devices or Apple products - I don't know, it's just what I've heard.
I still enjoyed it, but I agree that his talent etc. is often greatly disregarded. I won't say it's apparent in this context since this was based on genetic tests and although some of it it has to do with probability and predictions, it's still not some random listing of qualities/characteristics.
