Miyazaki is releasing a new anime movie but refuses to let ads or trailers be released because movie trailers now a days spoil the movies. It is a problem with trailers now a days
If I had a nickel for every time there was a movie based on a toy brand where the main character travels into the real world and meets Will Ferrell, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
@davidfelter417 It really annoys me because I have Visual Snow Syndrome where basically everything looks like it has film grain to it. So whenever he says in a condescending tone "I guess some of YOU can't tell the difference" I'm like "Yeah dude! Some of us can't tell the difference and it's not because we're idiots but because our eyes don't work properly!"
@@stevencoffin328 it’s just another thing that annoys me about Adam. I really hate is “I’m ok with this so you should be too” attitude and the way how he draws a complete distinction of himself. I liked him a lot back in the Cool Cat / Neil Breen golden days but now it seems he just does streaming highlights and movie reviews where 90% of all mainstream movies are “embarrassing” and he makes cheap shots at the movies and people who enjoy them. Really the only reason I haven’t unsubscribed is out of nostalgia and some odd sense of loyalty I feel to him because his Cool Cat content got me through some pretty difficult times. Ah well. Rant over lmao
@@davidfelter417Perfectly worded. Been watching him for a good like, 6-7 years at this point and I'm definitely getting tired of that unironic bitterness and ego radiating from him
She fell off her roof because the kid playing with the dolls is growing out of them, and they were distracted by something and dropped the doll mid play session.
That's funny.🤣 But to be fair, I did assume Adam would be intelligent enough to have seen (and meant) the irony in expecting something in 4k from Neil Breen, as opposed to a major studio.
Adam speaking directly to the camera about all the different people that love to say they see no difference between 1080p and 4k spoke to me at a spiritual level lol
I love the meme of Barbie and Oppenheimer coming out on the same day. One movie is all happy and the other is massive explosions curtesy of Christopher Nolan.
He should see the video of them making the set, that was actually incredible the amount of detail they put into the dollhouse world. Like the set itself needs to be put into a muesem.
I do feel like 80% of the movie is going to be real world, certainly more than half, so I'm okay with that being shown in the trailer. Compared to Lego movie it seems like it isn't a reveal as much as a main plot thread. And I'm guessing the main story and takeaway is going to be about that transition stage of "I'm grown out of this life but I don't really belong in the life I've moved into" feeling, and I'm interested in how the Ken character is going to play into that because he's very much still in that Barbie Land type mindset and is only going along with this because of how he feels about Barbie and not actually ready to make that change. I dunno, I feel like there's a lot of potential for the movie to touch on some interesting things and I look forward to seeing how that goes.
@@fhqwgads5000 your opinion is now invalid. You cant judge his appearance off the bad things youve seen recently with him in it if you haven't even watched the good to compare lol
12:01 Probably her husband, Noah Baumbach was involved with the project and writing credit so I don't know, they wanted to show a few clips in this real world if they attempting to enjoy the Barbie movie. I have high hopes for Grewig so it won't be that much bad.
I don't see how showing the main conflict spoils the movie, unless Adam has a VERY clear idea where it's leading. We still don't know how they get to the real world, we still don't know why the company cares about it, we still don't know every comedic situation they'll likely be in, and obviously we don't know the ending. This trailer is nowhere near as egregious as something like the RUBY GILLMAN, TEENAGE KRAKEN trailer that shows literally everything from learning powers to straight up the last fight.
We live in an era of joke movie titles becoming real movies. Can you remember, like, a decade ago people joked "haha, what next they are going to make, a Tetris movie?". Well, it exists now (and thank god it's just a story about how it got to the West, not a story about a literal block world). Nobody expected a major blockbuster movie about Barbie starring A-listers either, yet here we are. I don't know what to expect anymore. After the "Emoji Movie" anything is possible, I guess.
5:45 Also the fact that the texture behind her is so obviously copy-pasted and flipped to make hearts, so cheesy and so Barbie The presentation is honestly great
It’s funny how absolutely wrong YMS was about the trailer spoiling the film. I guess that’s what happens when you always have to be negative just to be negative.
I can understand where adum is coming from, when I was younger going from vcr to hdmi was a slight improvement but going from hdmi to vcr was unbearable
I'm assuming most of the movie is gonna take place in the real world and that the whole idea is just watching them get into shenanigans because they don't understand how reality works with Barbie being the more serious one as she seems to have awoken to reality first and Ken being the more quirky one because he still has the Doll mentality and then I guess they end up having some kind of epiphany or existential crisis about their existence and place in the world or something idk maybe Will Ferrell wants to catch Barbie because her being in the real world somehow causes any toy or promotional piece with her in it to disappear that's probably it
Aside from Dune: Part Two and my cautious optimism for The Exorcist: Believer, the most exciting movie to come out in 2023 is honestly Metalocalypse: Army Of The Doomstar. Not since Invader Zim: Enter The Florpus have I been this excited in seeing an animated finale film get released & made from its original creator, but as an added bonus, we’re also getting Dethalbum IV at the same time which is just icing on the cake.
I had a feeling Adum was ranting about 4k in every video because he felt obligated to keep it going and was basically doing it for the meme at this point. Some people find it annoying, but I think it's pretty funny often times (and I too can get stubborn about things and be boxed in about shit like that). Adum's aggressiveness about it in this one, along with how spicy he is in this whole video adds even more comedy about it
So you're telling me that this is a story about a toy who breaks out of societal norms to be it's own individual, finds out about the real world, tries to regain control over it's lives, and the villain is a businessman played by Will Ferrell? Are we sure this isn't the lego movie?
I dunno man. It seems like going to the real world is kinda the entire premise of the film. At that point I'd that point I'd say it's fair to include in trailers and if you're THAT spoiler sensetive you probably shouldn't watch trailers to begin with. It's not like The Lego Movie where that was a twist in the final act. I also completely understand why they want to try and sell the movie with it. Without knowing that element is there you might easily expect a more stylised Bratz movie.
Yeah, its not even funny at this point. And you think he would be self aware enough to know that beating a dead horse this much would be a bad thing, but no, he doubles down on the nonsense all while criticizing the same type of behavior in other media.
The reason people were anticipating this film is because they didn't know what to expect. What they saw of it looked weird, bizarre, and almost self-aware. We were mostly just curious for what the hell this was going to be, but this trailer gave everything away. The mystery is gone now and it just looks weird and unfunny.
because people kept saying you couldn't see a difference which is obviously stupid and is now an endless running gag. People try to give stupid rebuttals -> adum makes a joke about them -> those people are now mad they got rebutted and leave even more stupid comments -> adum mocks them -> "why do you keep talking about it???" -> adum mocks them even more.
The human eye can't see over 360p it's just science just because adum is over here with his fucking horse super eyes shouldn't give him the right to bully us
The fuck you talking about, there's a noticeable difference between 360p and say, 720p. It just starts getting less distinguishable the higher quality it gets.
10:54 If you make yourself more than just a plastic toy, if you devote yourself to an ideal, and if they can’t stop you, then you become something else entirely
A legendary figure crosses over into the real world from her artificial world to find out the true nature of the universe and herself. So essentially the matrix, she even has a red pill/blue pill scene
It's great to see a company fumble the release of a trailer/movie because they genuinely do not understand the themes of the movie and how they are unironically playing into them.
What if I have no other option to watch the highlights other than my phone? Im out of state right now and dont even have access to my computer. Do I have no excuse? 😢
Ironically the highest quality offered by YMS Highlights is 1440 lmao. How am I supposed to enjoy watching someone else react to an advertisement in this proletarian, budget 2k.
I'm guessing the reveal will be that Barbie's owner/the world is growing up and becoming too serious and cynical for Barbie toys. The message of the movie will be "you shouldn't lose that feeling of magical wonder children have, because the world would be better if we believe in magic" or some similar saccharine shit like that.
Mattel: "Please dont loose interest in our toy product, here lets show you how it makes you fuzzy and warm inside to have it with all the magical nostalgia land goodness sugary you could muster. BUY OUR PRODUCT!"
Turns out the trailers omitted A LOT. To say that this film _"gets political"_ is like saying Adam and Scoot _"might be more than just friends"._ This movie is *obsessed* with gender politics and has some of the most heavy-handed social commentary I've ever seen in a film that wasn't a documentary. I guess the trailers didn't want to scare people away; but as a result I went in expecting a goofy comedy, only to end up with some kind of mental endurance test. It was pretty entertaining, though: Barbie and (mostly) Ken really pull the film together in the 3rd act. If you frequently complain that Hollywood is "too woke" there is a 0% chance you will enjoy this movie. It's not for everyone, and that's ok.
BTW-Every person who ever picked up a Barbie doll does not have flat feet. Not news. (Everything in BARBIE-LAND is plastic and plastic looking, like the album spinning on the turntable... my gosh you wont shut up about the 4K !!!! ARGGGGGGGGGG!
