What I love about Yodsanklai is that there's nothing fancy about his style. He's just so good at the basic stuff that he doesn't HAVE to do anything fancy. That, and he's ridiculously powerful.
anyone who says JWP is too old is stupid!! he made it to the finals so that proved he is amoung the best and yet people still say he's old??? JWP had alot of personal issues going into this fight but he still fought like a warrior, he showed tremedous heart and thats what a fighter is measured for, not his age. 17km runs everyday, 1000 knee strikes on a bag continuously for 13mins...lets see anyone else do that!
Dont know what you guys have against JWP the man is a legend and a great role model. Lets see if Yodsenklai is still fighting at top level when he's 32 year old. Give Jwp the respect he deserves.
Congratulations to JWP last week how beat Yoddy in a rematch. Jwp is now 34 years old and still one of the best Thaiboxers in the world at his weight. Once again he has shown with skill, heart, tougness and guile theres nothing you cant do when you give it your all. And for all you JWP haters that says he's not good enough to beat Yoddy or too old to beat Yoddy. Enjoy your slice of humble pie!!
yea it was ok but~ i like my training back at home, i was at nakompathom~ i think its called~ country side,west of bangkok. 4~5 months~ all idone was knee sparing and non stop kicking. . . the boxing was really BASIC i rather the training at my home town. I think too many thais train same. . . but i suppose it depends. yea~ go to thailand and train and live SUPER cheap. . . miss the food. . .
I don't think there's any doubt that Muay Thai is the most exciting ring sport at the moment. It also involves much more technique, thinking and strategic (and injuries and fatigue) than any of the rest. JWP was always going to get outclassed by Yod but I don't think he counted on Yods precision. JWP can throw 20 punches but Yod throws 2-3 and they are 100% on target. I've only seen Maywheather play that kind of game in boxing but most Thais do exactly that.
Like I said, his isn't known for his technique but his punches are definitely his best weapon. I wouldn't call JWP a hack as he's won multiple world titles, but I wouldn't call him an elite fighter either, especially not at this stage in his career, he's just a very personable guy so he gets more attention than others with his skill level.
Couple things there. First off muay thai fighters hands very rarely look as good as pro boxers, I dont think I need to explain why that is. Also JWP has never been known for his great technique. I think the most important factor though is JWP was desperate to get out of Yods kicking range and throw as many punches as he could when he got in range as to not waste the opportunities.
Who do you think would win, Yod or Buakaw? If you gave em 3 months to train and got Buakaw used to elbows again, who'd win? Thats a fight I'd paid to see.
i think the head shot was after the fact. liver shots sometimes take a second or 2 before u get a reaction. The punch may not have dropped him had he not just eatn the liver shot
@martincolton32 yodenklai has been fighting in thailand since he was basically a kid, a teenager. he put his body thru that much punishment as a kid and then he starts fighting men when he gets older and hes knocking every1 out. hes only 22 here wen he fights JWP, he doesnt even have that man strength yet.
@martincolton32 , i dont think yod will still be able to fight at that age or be as good as parr but parr is a better fighter in his later years than his early years. some people are just get better with age and some dont.
@dietermauer thats maybe because of the pressure to win this.. and also ppl are intimidated by yod cos he is a strong opponent.. he wont be that famous if it was only toughness
@yod92 Better than all of us ? Of course !!! We are NOT Boxers . Wayne is mostly has famous in his homeland Australia and win mostly in there . While , Buakaw & Yodsanklai are win most fights outside Thailand , in around the world . The reputation of Buakaw and Yod are More Reliable and Reasonable . I doubt that Australian's Nationalism is the drive for Wayne .

JWP is to old for this now, his punches hardly connect and he gets dominated like 60% of the time all hes got is the made flurry of punches which pretty much neva connect, fun to watch tho ;O
like titaniumwolf2 said boxing is punching back and forth, and who cares about age i know my trainer is old and he can fuck me up and im 21, but put a boxer aagainst a muay thai fighter, the boxer is done all they konw how to do is punch which is boring couple eg kicks and the boxer is gonna be on the floor in pain, so dont say shit till you try it

Don't complain about what im telling you unless your prepared to spend over 12 years of MMA training in order to match my knowledge of these sports. That also goes to everyone reading this
