I am surprised at the negative comments. She is talking common sense and reminding us that there is a reason why native/ local foods are better and cheaper instead of following the West blindly and eating foods not grown in our environment. Wish she would list the research she quotes in her talks so that the public can go to the original source of the claims she makes.
I agree with all your points, except sugar.. It is not our traditional food.. And in south we don't use sugar in Panchamruta, we use banana dates & jaggery ..

Panchamrit contain sugar, you can see ayurvedic text ,in their shlokas their is written sharkara not gud( jaggery), eariler sugar was not manufactured in factory.In ayurvedic medicine mishri was used
