While yoga can help you lose weight, the only real way to do it is to cut calories. I think one of the best ways yoga helps is with this, practice can make you feel better about yourself giving you inspiration to eat less. Best to you on your journey! I know you can do it.

The bad news is that I have stopped doing my walk, yoga, and diet control for last one month and have become totally clumsy and irritated too. Now I feel like as if I have put on even more weight than before. Because I can see my face and neck bulging with fat and upper tummy bloated again. See what happens when I didn't get support. The most difficult thing to keep up, is the controlled diet routine, specially when living in a large family where I myself cook traditional food for everyone. Become difficult to control. Moreover I had also developed acidity in stomach and heart burn after twenty days of diet. Although it had helped me lose my face fat, jaw line, and reduce the bulge of my upper tummy. Everyone was able to notice. But heart burn made me stop doing diet and then I again started eating every thing and stopped my walk and yoga. I have shared it with you now openly. Now you know my problem in detail. Please help me or I'll die of heart attack because of cholesterol. Please reply. I want to reduce weight and look smart.

No. During yoga poses inhale and exhale goes as per different postures. While you hold the pose, continue breathing. Holding breathe happens during Pranayam, not poses. Hope it helps you.
