Love this! I'm 22 and i've had diabetes type 1 for 15 years now and yoga actually helps me to keep my blood sugar levels in a good balance, just because it helps me to reduce my stress levels. Stress=higher blood sugar levels, at least for me. I don't understand how people can be so bitter. For those of you who commented negative stuff, Adriene didn't say anything about "curing diabetes". This flow is to help u keeping your blood sugar levels, and your body in balance, and you don't have to be Einstein to understand that yoga can't cure diabetes. Or any other autoimmune disease.

Yoga With Adriene I was excited when I saw the new video notification this morning. I have several serious medical conditions. ALL of my doctors recommend yoga because of the health benefits for me. Stress is a killer. The nurses at my cardiac rehab classes all think this is an excellent idea.

Hannaanordin My doctor recommends yoga for its health benefits. Yoga isn't a cure, but it is quickly becoming part of many medical treatment plans for a variety of chronic conditions, including diabetes. Haven't read the comments after these, but I agree with you whole heartedly. Yoga is a tool.

No problems Adriene :)! I'm just trying to bring you some justice because you don't deserve any of the hate you got on this video. Yes exactly! Yoga is good for everyone. And more people should try it. You are very generous with your videos and such an inspirational human being! Never stop doing this, and what you love. Lots of love to you. Namaste!

Just came across this one. Been doing yoga for over 3 years, along with daily walks, to keep my A1c at a good range. Was terribly out of shape 3 years ago but my health has steadily improved and I am 61. Can't believe that I just actually did the plow pose!! Twice!! Thank you so much Adriene. ♥️♥️

I’m a type 1 diabetic and have been for 27 years, and I enjoyed this flow. Lengthening muscles, isometric movements and flexibility improvement are good for *any* body. Understand that yoga is not a cure, but a tool that can be used in partnership with conventional medicine. Enjoy the relaxation and just be happy you moved your body today. Don’t assume that Adrienne is inferring something else from this title, surely you are wise enough to deduce that my friends!

At my cousins' after a long drive of 500+ miles yesterday. First long drive I have made in a decade so as you can imagine, I am quite stiff, especially in the right hamstring and neck. This sequence felt good even if I could not manage my feet to the floor in plow. Gastritis has made many poses more difficult the last year or so, the long drive notwithstanding. Intuit day 13. 1043 days.

I think that a lot of people are getting easily offended over a title. I was diagnosed at 11 with Type one diabetes and I've been practicing yoga for over two years (many of that time with Adrien!) and it has helped control my glucose levels, not heal them as we know that there is no cure for t1! It doesn't take a genius to realise that this video is not meant as a 'cure', more just a way for diabetics (and others!) to relax and connect to themselves and their breath. I know that the whole reason I practice yoga is because I can disconnect with my body- not worry about how I feel and what my glucose levels are and to help regulate my blood sugar levels especially after eating. Not only that, but I have also found that yoga has helped my anxiety and depression from living with type one. Now, that's not to say that everyone is going to have the same benefits from yoga, every type one is different! I know that I can't do a lot of team sports because of my condition, so I stick to individual exercises like yoga, bike riding, walking and dancing. I think this video would be especially great for type ones who want to get started in yoga so that they can build up to and enjoy the 'harder' versions of yoga as I do! No matter what, people I feel will always get offended over simple things but sometimes we all need to chill out and take a deep breath or vinyasa ;)

Hey guys, of course diabetes is a very serious medical condition. But remember the difference between curing and caring. Medical treatments are essentials in the cure process but I think here Adriene is talking about the caring part. Kindness, self love and compassion teached by Adriene are very powerful healing tools when used hand in hand with professional treatments. Before throwing darts remember to use a little of empathy and judge the good intentions. You can't always cure but you can always take care of yourself.

This video was posted with EVERYone in mind - as are all Adriene's videos. I'm not a Dancer, Teacher, Truck-driver (some other titles of these videos) - or Diabetic - but was still able to join in, and enjoy its unique content. It was a gentle, grounding practice, that wasn't going to send anyone's blood-sugar levels catastrophically low or high. Doesn't this demonstrate the all-inclusive nature of yoga practice? And yes, yoga can be practiced by people with cancer, or heart disease, or arthritis...and so much more. Adriene isn't setting out to "cure" anyone of a pre-existing medical condition - she's purely making the practice of yoga, accessible to ALL. How amazing X

I was just cleared by my doctor to ease back into practice again after injuring my knee in a fall. While on a forced break from YwA practice, I was literally dreaming about doing yoga. That's how much I missed it!! When I saw this new video, I knew I had to try it. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year (with a hbA1C of 10.9). I started 1000mg of Metformin ans a low carb diet. That got me down to a 7.2. So, I added in Yoga with Adriene a few times a week. I went down to 5.9. So, I set a goal of practicing 5 days a week, which turned into 6 or 7 cause I enjoyed it so much. But, I was eating more carbs (summer treats and eating out more than usual). I was a bit worried my number would go up. Surprise! My last hbA1C was a 5.5! The Holy Grail of hbA1Cs if you're type 2. I credit Adriene for that because I was doing two thongs differently- not doing great on my diet and practicing Yoga with Adriene. Pretty sure the fries, ice cream and cakes weren't the things lowering my number. My point is, if you are struggling to manage your diabetes, or just looking for a way to exercise without feeling like you're too [insert negative self talk item here], not an exercise person, or think no one was meant to move their body that way, Adriene's videos are for you. Try it! This is a great ease into yoga practice. She explains everything so well and gives you modifications for where you are right now. Being overweight, that's sooo essential for me.

I wasn't able to get to the full plough pose today but I was able to create something close to it without collapsing into my spine and balancing on a strong, solid base. I felt totally balanced and secure. I didn't think I'd ever be able to have that balance and solidity in my upper body, but fifty days of Yoga with Adriene has revealed that to me. I started crying once I got out of the pose - so much joy! Thank you so much Adriene!

Hi, Adriene! I totally stand by the power yoga has in balancing body functions. Almost 2 years ago, I was experiencing some weird minor symptoms and my blood tests showed a "subclinical" hypothyroidsm (my hormones were exactly at the limit between normal and illness). So I decided to start a yoga daily practice...at home, with you! Long story short, my exams early this year gave totally normal values. In the process, my body changed quite a bit. Yoga was the only big change in my lifestyle. I don't know how much of this is related, but I truly believe the inner balance that comes from the practice is real! Thank you, Adriene!!

Ok, everyone breathe, there is no need to shame here. Adriene never says anything about curing diabetes, nor does she ever make any claims even remotely similar to that. She's talking about using yoga to relieve stress and use it as part of a healthy lifestyle, which is a good idea for everyone. The reason she isn't distinguishing between Type 1 and Type 2 is because this is not a cure, or even a remedy. It's just feel-good yoga. (And I fully agree that it should have a different name, but I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that the name is misleading. There is never a mention of curing, just like "Yoga for Manual Labor" doesn't promise to get you out of a laborious job, it just hopes to help your muscles feel some relief.) Additionally, Adriene is someone who gives us free yoga videos every week, so we could all be a little more grateful for the time and energy she is putting out there instead of flipping out if there's something we don't agree with. Perhaps if she were suggesting that we throw out medicine/treatment or diet plans, then you may want to stop following her - but she's not. But she's just giving us an easygoing sequence that she thought would be an added bonus to anyone suffering. I believe we all have the intelligence to see that she's coming from a place of love, and this is not a danger to anyone. Peace, wellbeing, and a hope to give some added ease for those who are suffering: that's all that is offered up here - at least from my perspective. For those who disagree, just try to remember that Adriene isn't trying to hurt anyone. Try to be kind and gentle in voicing your concerns, out of respect for what she is trying to give us. Thank you.

This is true. Also, remember that any kind of exercise will help diabetes. You have to figure out which one works best for you. For me yoga and low impact exercises help the most.

I pulled a muscle in my leg a couple weeks ago and I've had to take a break from yoga. I really missed it, but needed to heal first. I just did this video and it was PERFECT to ease back into it. Thank you!!!

Day 166 of the current run. First time that plow pose has come up for me, outside of the candle pose foundations. I can get my feet above my head, but nowhere near the ground. I'll get there after some time.

Really loved this practice. I am working on becoming a registered dietitian and I want to work specifically with the diabetic community. I thought I would try this out since your sessions never disappoint, and I wanted to know what a practice like this might be like for the future. So great. Never knew I could put my feet behind my head either and I was having a tough practice/morning until I did! Again THANK YOU!! For everything you do !!

Wonderful practice. This is the first time I have actually done the plow pose. Nope, it wasn't pretty but it was safe and felt pretty darn good to do. Namaste! Thank you, Adriene!

Wonderful video as always. The practice is practical. I don't know why people in the comments play the "know it all" the title does not matter unless you people are just looking for the materialistic value not the psychological profit
