Adriene shares a Yoga For Runners Warm Up Sequence. This yoga practice is suitable for all levels and designed to inspire you to check in and create a full body warm up experience before your run. You can practice this before a walk, jog or run or you can practice this as you prepare for a running program or future runs! Awareness is key! We must be patient and mindful as we build endurance in running- just like in our yoga practice- we find what feels good, find ease and build stamina, strength and discover a practice that can be fun! My son is a soccer player and recently he has started running with me,and we do this video to warm up. Today we didn't have time to do it and he had a tough run. He said, "I need yoga with Adriene. We shouldn't skip again." So grateful to have yoga and running time with my son. He values yoga thanks to you.

This is by far THE BEST RUNNERS WARMUP on the internet! I must have done it around 100x now and since I do Adriene's PRE and POST RUN Yoga I have managed to eliminated my knee pain which I had ever since starting to run regulary ...

I'm a runner and I love this! I've been doing yoga for about a month now in addition to running and I really like the combo. Btw, please don't shut up; you are way too funny and I enjoy laughing while I try to hold the pose. ;-)

I’ve been a runner for 2 years now but only since january I began gaining stamina to endure regular long distances, thanks to daily yoga practices. Thanks for your videos, I love them ❤️

Hi Adriane, since a month or three I am using you warm-up and cool down for runners, and I must say that it works perfectly :-) Normally I went for a run just doing 1 or 2 excersises and go .... and yes I had problems with my muscles :-( and now ... now problems what so ever :-) So thank you for your you tube film which I use three times a week. I am 61 years old and are still running 11 kilometers three times a week :-) I hope that I will keep on running until I am 80 hahaha. Greetings Nelleke from Holland

This was wonderful! I'm normally pretty bad that I don't stretch very much before a jog, and find I can't go long distances without slowing to a walk because I'll get a stitch in my side. Did this before my run and was able to jog almost the whole way without stopping! Made sure to focus on my breathing while jogging, and that was great! Thanks for your videos, Adriene! They're my favorite. :D

I'm a teenager who just started up doing yoga, and I really love it. I was hoping you could do a couple more beginner sequences or maybe something specifically for teenagers?

Great sequence, Adriene! Just an FYI - you should only do active stretches before running, such as leg kicks, arm circles, and squats. Extended static stretching can lead to injury. You can do static stretches after; it's just not recommended before. Love your eps!!

Firstly: I love you. I've been following you for the last year and a half and I can't tell you what a positive difference you have made in my life! I've never been able to commit to any exercise regime except for yours, and I truly thank you for that! Secondly: This is wonderful! However, I was wondering if you might be able to do a sequence that's just a geneal 'before gym' sequence? One that also stretches the arms a bit more as well?

I'm in my early 30s and recently started running. I've struggled with cramps in my lower left back/upper left hip and i could NOT find anything that would stretch that spot until i found this video. Thank you times a million! i do this routine every time i run and now nightly because it's helped me so much! I don't know if this has anything to with breathing but that has remarkably improved as well, almost in tandem with this video. Thank you, Adriene!

Love this practice. I'm really bad about stretching before I run. This is a nice quick sequence I can do to get my juices flowing.

I just completed Yoga For Runners and I think this is a fabulous practice. I am not much of a long-distance runner, but I do ride my exercise bike on a regular basis. I will definitely be incorporating this warm-up with my workout. As always, thanks so much for your awesome practices. Also, I always appreciate your spontaneous and often hilarious comments during each yoga practice 😁

This is helping me so much! My legs have been bad for a few years due to runners knee, so doing these each morning before my run has actually alleviated the stress alot! Thanks Adrien - only discovered this channel a week ago but it's done wonders 😊

Today during my run I was really not getting into it, then I remembered to get into the "full body experience" and I hit a great second wind and actually added distance! I love what a great positive mood your videos put me in both before and after running!

I always get sore tight hips and these moves really helped loosen that. Going to come back to this video time and time again for when I go running. ! My freedoms is on the mat 😀 💜

Came back to say thank you! I haven't run in 3 weeks because reasons. I usually follow your short pre-run routine and saw this one below it. Something told be to try the longer one and I am so glad I did today. It was a tough run for me and I know it would have been tougher if I hadn't been properly stretched and warmed up. Thank you!

Great stretch, helped me so much - managed to run 4.4 mile and when started feeling tension in my back i used your stretches in the middle as well to loosen up my muscles.

I just ran 25 km and I did this after it!! It's great. Short so I repeated it 4 times (Y) Great one ! THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD ENERGY AND STRETCH/WARM UP!

thank you, just finished up my long run. No noticeable change in pacing or warm-up timeline. My total body soreness is much better. This warm-up does need a little more focus on the hips. I still felt pretty stiff. Thanks for everything!
