Yoga for Tight Hips: Active Hip Mobility, Strength Exercises and Stretches

This 30 minute yoga practice is a rather active and dynamic flow for the health of your hips. We will start with a targeted warm up, followed by strength exercises for glute muscles activation, hip mobility movements and finally some sweet hip stretches. You will feel amazing afterwards and your hips will be grateful.
Poses that you can expect in this practice: malasana and some of its variations, active lunges, lizard lunge holds, goddess pose holds, butterfly, reclined pigeon and some others. We will explore some unique variations of these traditional yoga asanas for better muscle activation and stretching.
Movements included into this practice are vitally important for our overall health. It is a rather common situation that 21 century people have weak and tight glutes, inner thighs and hips that do not move. All of that can become a reason for back pain, knee injuries and other health related problems. Take care of your body and your healthy future by exercising on a regular basis and moving in a mindful way as you look for balance between strength, flexibility and mobility.
Get comfy, get ready and as you begin on this beautiful journey take it slow, listen to your own body and be patient.

Ok forget about the mobility, strength and flexibility for a bit. Have u ever smiled back at her when she looks at u during those intense moments smiling at u? She does that in most of her classes, in today's vid it was the 6th minute 32 sec ✨ in a way it's reassuring and motivating 💙 I Could nvr be grateful enough to that genuine smile 😊✨ (I always helplessly smile back at u, 'cause for me we're in the same training classroom) and thank u Marina for the millionth time for such outstanding yoga classes that make me feel good about myself and my body 🙏🏼💙✨

It is unbelievable that even when we are miles apart, different time zones, countries etc you manage to give me the feeling that we are practicing in the same room. To give guidance when needed, motivation when the last hold is so hard, to push a bit farther while listening to my body. And the encouraging smile! 🙏🏼

day 6week 2! I left this class behind yesterday but I'm so glad I start the day with this practice today! . As you said at the end, I felt lighter! I admire your way to guide us throughout the class, every single details are so important! During some poses you remind us to check others part of the body to remain in the perfect position so the exercise will be really effective, this is so important for me since I'm training home and don't have anyone checking if I'm doing right or not! I enjoyed listening to my body getting longer every breath! thank you

As inflexible as I've always been I now start to notice improvements with each practice with you. They are maybe not very visible yet but I feel it in my body, some movements now feel different then before and that an amazing feeling! Challenge week 3 day 3. I have been doing this practice a few times and let me tell you that I always enjoy it VERY much. Hips feel so good after it, so warm and open, glutes also do a great work and get stronger. I get into my reclined pigeon much easier than before, so step by step I can see real improvements. Very deep hip opener exercises! Felt amazing!!! Although I struggled at first to keep my arms straight and resist bending them especially during knee circles, it requires a lot of focus and engagement. Thank you for this 🙏🏼 day 5 of week 2 ✅

This is one of my favorites! I actually did your hamstring flexibility right after this today to keep my legs loose and it worked! I got further into poses than I had before . thanks for adding it to the challenge

Hello Lydia !!! This practice is quite intense. But might be you a very strong or flexible beginner ? Might be you have done sport all your life but just starting out with yoga ? - it is hard for me to say like this. Generally, this practice is not for beginners.
