Yoga Legs Up Wall Viparita Karani Sequence

In this yoga instructional video, Leela Robinson shares a Legs up the Wall sequence. The sequence includes variations on Legs up the Wall, such as apanasana knees to chest pose, spinal twist, wide leg straddle, and malasana squat pose, The sequence concludes with plow pose and shoulderstand.
This restorative yoga sequence promotes relaxation, balances energy, improves circulation, and stretches spinal muscles, hips, hamstrings and adductors.
Recommendations:
*Breathe deep. Choose a breath count ratio that works for you. For example: 4 count inhale, pause, 4 or 5 count exhale, pause. 4-1-5-1. A longer exhale promotes relaxation.
*Watch the video first, then practice along.
*Modify at will and hold each posture as long as you like.
*The video moves quickly for demo purposes, pause it to practice at your own pace.
*Make sure you are healthy enough to do inversions.
*In legs up the wall position, leave a couple inches between the wall and the base of your pelvis. You don't want to try and get the base of your pelvis to touch the wall.
*Avoid turning your head to the side when in shoulderstand and plow.
*Avoid placing any weight on your spine in shoulderstand and plow...keep chin up away from chest rather than tucking it.

Im doing this for a certain timespan now but im glad i came across this vid. A nice lady showing me some more varieties of this practice. I definitly need this because im sitting a lot, this helps really really well to feel lighter in the morning and before sleeping - definitly saved in my playlist, thank you!

I do this yoga pose every night, twenty minutes before bed. It helps me to sleep like a baby, without the side effects of medication, and without a dent in my savings. I've also noticed my pants have gotten looser since I began doing this yoga pose daily.

Yoga excercise in safe, correct & stress free way. I have done all this position in normal sitting way & I felt very stressed and I quit , many times. now I will enjoy this yoga position, postures & my lower back will be relaxed , free & healed with fun and playful way . Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. I also use tennis balls and frozen water bottles. I was kinda thinking those might be tattoos, but it was just too far away to be sure and I bruise the tops of my feet in my boots on a regular basis. Have a great day! :^)

I used to do this kind of thing all the time as a child and didn't have a clue that it was yoga, LOL! I noticed you have very high arches in your feet. Do you get plantar fasciitis? Also, may I ask why the tops of your feet are bruised? I don't mean to be rude, but I have high arches as well and am occasionally in a lot of pain from dancing.

I would say a little bit, yes. This is really good for blood circulation in the legs, you can do this even before or after running.

good Training, yes. BUT do not talk while doing the asana - bad for you, bad for the viewers. film can be manipulated later, so easy.
