+ntabiblaze we actuallytried to4-man it for the achievements back in mop, we got all the way to this fight without any problems. then the mechanics of this fight kicked our collective ass.
ntabiblaze Time walking events aren't for hardcore raiding. They are meant to deliver an experience akin to that of the original, but not an identical one. It's for people to gather up in 25-man stacks and make an effort to kill the bosses, go through the phases, do some core tacts, etc. Please, you really should think more about it before you spread your negativity everywhere.
Even on patch 6.1, almost five years or so after Ulduar was released, Yogg will kick your ass. At least more so than even Firelands 25 heroic bosses. Long live the God of Death.
Not Squidward What I meant is that later end bosses such as Arthas, Nefarian, Anub' Arak, Ragnaros, and even Deathwing are easier than him for people who don't know the fights.
@@kzkaa. Yogg'saron: Um, yeah about that, I was only bullshitting, I don't know any damn necromancy spells. I gave myself this title because my side of the Aqir the Nerubians are the ones who know necromancy unlike the Mantids and Silithids

I don't buy it, it could have also been a seedling because it was a life-bearing planet, and that's how I interpreted when Ulduar came out. The three visions he shows are things that have already happened, and two of those had already been in lore for years. The first being the assassination of King Llane, the second being the creation of the Dragon Soul, and the third being Bolvar being tortured by the Lich King, which would have been happening since Wrathgate. Cataclysm was in part foreshadowed, but that expansion was also already in development. Also everyone already knew that the Lich King was the final boss of the expansion, so that wasn't really a spoiler. I'm inclined to believe that they started retooling all of the lore much later, the first of that being revealed by the first chronicle, which they then retconned with Shadowlands... There's a very clear storytelling distinction between WotLK and Legion, when Azeroth as a Titan was first revealed. This was also the first expansion that suddenly decided that The Light was tyrannical. It's far more likely that they decided to make Azeroth a Titan, and then went back through the lore for ways to explain it, than it to have been their plan for nearly 10 years without any other hints.
The most scary line is really "Your will is no longer your own." There's little emotion in that sentence, something you just factually state. And honestly, what if you suddenly got told that and you have to question whether or not what you think and do is really, REALLY your own free will? Against beings like the Old Gods that deal in madness and insanity, I would eventually start to question reality.

It's his line when someone in the raid zeros out on sanity. When that happens, the raid member loses control of their character and has to watch as their character attacks the other raid members! Pretty cool (but darned frustrating) mechanic.

I wish there was a channel that had ALL the boss audio ever in Wow. I'd totally make one if I had access to it. Even the Addon that worked pretty well for that purpose no longer exists
Hopefully people know that Yogg'Saron is one of the reasons why Arthas was so easily corrupted when he first ventured to Northrend. THAT'S why he says "YOU WILL LEARN, NO KING RULES FOREVER" The Old Gods have a very very strong influence on Azeroth, in fact the one in specific that corrupted Deathwing was N'zath, we will fight him here in Cataclysm or at least learn of him.
It's interesting that Yogg-saron is the "fiend of a thousand faces" but his minions are called "faceless ones"... Cool boss...my guild's first attempt last night! :)
Blizzard should definitely make the next expansion involve the Old Gods. C'thun and Yogg-Saron are just too badass to not play a major part in WoW lore.
And never before had a boss fight ended with such an anticlimactic speech. There is no way that one of the more powerful beings in the world can be taken seriously when a speech ends with a woosh as he vanishes from his physical form.

Now I hear it, I can't un-hear it. Or un-see it. ...I wonder how many raids just put on a Lu Bu theme on repeat when he switches in?
it's just a curse in his language like "damn those meddling kids who play too much Warcraft" or something...it just makes the encounter more exciting...
That laugh as amazing as it sounds was also the cue that you're fucked. Cuz if you didn't turn away from him it was like instant insanity. that laugh is a huge memory of that fight :D

@TheGreatDarksol Similarly to C'thun (and most likely a template for all the old gods), the names are references to the works of 1920's American horror/science fiction writer HP Lovecraft. C'thun is named after Cthulhu, Yogg is Yog-Sothoth. Lovecraft made up these as "Old Gods" in the universe of his books, though most of them are creatures of otherworldly origin. Lovecraft inspired a ton of future writers, including Stephen King
