salute to Yolanda Adams she sung the hell out of this song in her version. This also proves how beastly Whitney Houston was and how no one will ever do a song better than she did.
Not everybody’s Whitney. Yolanda is a vocal powerhouse. #1 Yolanda is not in her prime. Most definitely and for a fact, she would be effortless if she was. #2 They do not have the same vocal range and Belting. #3 She did amazing to me, just my opinion.👌🏼💯🙌🏼
miss Houston would be throwing her shoes at her she did the damn thing, wow she is no Whitney, Whitney had a better connection to the song but Yolanda blew this out the waters even in Whitney's days she was still able hit her head notes that was missing here
Singers who can really sing find out just how talented Whitney was when they attempt to sing her songs...i.e. Patti I have nothing...Christina run to you...Celine greatest love of all..Natalie I have nothing run to you
Let's just enjoy the performance. Yolanda was and IS still a vocal beast even at age 62 and some of y'all favorite artists can't hold a note after age 45 or after 2 mins into their own. Class dismissed!!!
Whitney's ability to switch seamlessly between registers saved her from being as shouty on this and other songs as Yolanda is. Don't get me wrong, Yolanda did a tremendous job but if you're constantly singing on the top your lungs, it becomes stale very quickly even within a single song. Whitney avoided that by bringing in her angelic head voice and playing with the volume. She had such a heaven-sent talent. It's seems unbelievable that somebody could have had a voice so perfect, but Whitney did.
I agree completely. Whitney was an expert at keeping the elegance and cleanliness of a song by utilizing her incredible range of dynamics and her ethereal head voice of hers. She never made a song overbearing. That is why she is one of the few singers in this world who can literally sing anything and make it something uniquely gorgeous.
An excellent performance and very close to the original as sung by the greatest female singer of my generation, Miss Whitney Houston. Yolanda has the power but she does not quite have the vocal range to match Ms. Houston's version, but this is a very strong rendition never the less. I can't think of another living singer today who can top this.
This is a good cover!!! YA had some excellent musical moments before that key change... yikes!!!! I know Whitney is known for this song but I heard several ladies sing this song but outside of Whitney... Patti and now Yolanda has cooked this song for me in their own way and it was delicious!!!
@@reihkingston9208 you get what i'm saying thank you... the discipline of Yolanda Adams is off the radar. To do what she does live, is on another level.
WHAT WHAT WHAT...You are amazing, I have not words to say. Congrats from México City. PS. i have never been in USA, but you made me feel a wonderful sense, wow I wish you the so much succes and thanx.
As dope as this was and how well Yolanda sang! It just reminded me of how dope Whitney really was!when she sang this she would whisper us thru that first verse Nd tell a story...then go up in the raptors and wail..then right back to a whisper in a breath! I miss her
Yolanda, you had me nervous as hell, but you did a good job. My super ears noticed a few iffy parts, but very small. Dang, you didn't hit that run on *he*. :( It's all right. Nippy's best performances of this song were at the 1991 Billboard Awards and Jay Leno.
Do you see how Yolanda was more focused on her technique in trying to sing this song? She wasn't really engaging with the audience. Whitney Houston sang it and looked dead straight at people's eyes which just made it more of a feel
Come la cantava la grande whitney sta canzone non la potrà mai cantare nessuno piu... bella voce ma non per questa canzone è soprattutto come la cantava whitney..
It’s ALWAYS impossible for ANYONE to cover a WHITNEY ‘song and make it their own...case in point, Yolanda Adams, an AMAZING singer covering a Whitney ‘song and NIT adding anything to it as she did to R. Kelly’s “I believe I Can Fly”...meh!!
William Kamroon you got understand too. Whitney sang this song in her prime. It would be a different story if Yolanda was in her prime. I give credit when it’s do. Yolanda voice is still vocal masterclass in her own right. Whitney will always be the voice. Yolanda always knew it as well.
She did ok, but it got throaty in parts and out of her own range to shouting as she often does when she sings live. Whitney was clearly and simply the BEST!!! NICE tribute though. Enjoyed this.
PLEASE somebody convince Yolanda to come out with a secular album. Her voice is divine, but many of us don't care for Christian gospel music. Where's Clive Davis??
