SEGA should do a Bungie by completely patching out YongYea out of the game and credits. Remember Peter Dinklage was in Destiny but due to his shoddy performance he got fired and was replaced by Nolan North. The same thing should happen to YongYea. My only question is "Who in SEGA approved of this terrible casting decision?" Whoever cast YongYea for the role of Kiryu should be fired. I think it's time to bring back the Original Kiryu voice actor Darryl Kurylo since clearly this casting choice has backfired on them bigtime.
I don't think dinklage was fired, It was an availability issue, Cause dinklage was so busy. So, cast Nolan instead since he was more open scheduling wise.
This is honestly what bothers me. I don't find his voice actually to be so off I hate it. (The singing is another story.) But he said all that about Mario's voice. But his Kiryu voice is literally closer than Chris Pratt did for Mario. I dislike the hypocrisy.
All the shit talk he gave about Chris Pratt and claiming his opinion, yet blocked anyone criticizing people’s opinion on his performance as Kiryu shows his hypocrisy level.
At first, before this happens, i was like "Oh cool, so many people are supporting him. This is better be good" Then the video of him singing as Kiryu is just... NO..... And some people even said that it used auto tune..... Hot dang..... But when the Mario Chris Pratt showed up, i was like "Yikes he got karma'd"... Then i've just remembered 1 particular seriously similar case... Yes, ProZD
They should've realized him wasn't a right fit and got Darryl Kurylo to reprise his role. He was great in Yakuza 7. Sega normally does good English casting like with the Persona series and Yakuza 7.
I feel like YongYea's voice would be more perfect for a cop in a detective role. Just from the way he sounds, pronounces his words and all that. When I hear his voice, it sounds like it would fit a detective role or one of those old school detectives like back in the 1960's.
Yongyea's just a shill, never having an opinion of his own. Just making videos about drama and look up which take is most popular. He's not used to people not liking something he does, so I think people not liking his kiryu might be a wake up call. The dub is honestly terrible. But english dubs being bad isnt uncommon to be fair.
It is sad to me that people will only properly criticize popular commentary RU-vidrs ONLY when literally everyone else is also doing it. Everything said about "copy and paste youtube videos" could be said about so many others but they just aren't.
@@gringles Weak... English dubs of anime don't capture the essence of the original either, and is honestly so cringe. People who don't speak English already read text, why shouldn't English speakers do the same?
@@Zeverinsen I don’t know, I play games and watch shows/movies with subs. My issue with a lot of dubs is that a lot of the voice acting sounds kind of….amateurish or maybe just silly. Like a Japanese character might sound like a small creature but then the English VA sounds too much like a forced voice. To each their own, I have a bigger issue with crappy localization since that effects subs.
Yong's bad but the singing is Bleeding Ears Caliber and then he tries to sound 60 years old at the end, which makes it funny because his voice be cracking beforehand
Seriously, Yongyea sounds too stiff, worse than those 1970 Kung Fu lip syncing movies. He really need more training to do VA. Not every random people can do a VA as they need to capture the scene and give "feeling". I really wonder how he do the Kiryuu crying scene.... he probably ruin the heart breaking scene with unintentional wooden voice acting.
Hmmm. If he had voiced a niche game people could point out how truly capable he is instead of a well known title main lead. He definitely needed more experience voicing all kinds of people before landing on this one.
Ah my friend the only reason yong got that role in the first place was because of his race and not his talents; the fact this wasnt a good role maybe he knew deep down. But this shows how thin skin he is; he likes to review others but never liked being reviewed this reminds me of angry joe; both of them soy boys like kevin smith where they threw their alpha card for clout.
the irony that he was one of the people complaining about david hayter being replaced by kiefer sutherland and he just goes ahead and does the exact same thing.
He just sounds like himself. Should have picked someone that can sound older, more broken. He sounds to young. The singing, they should have picked someone they could sing as a start.
LOL.. I don't watch his videos regularly only sometimes but just recently I start avoiding his videos on recommended section because I already sensed his bias and hypocrisy.. specifically when Starfield came out.. haha
Lol after listening to the comparison... He feels secondary Voice Actor. Like a backup. And theres an imbalance with the way he spoke unlike jp. his pacing is not perfect, or too rigid. Sometimes he goes fast, sometimes he goes reading pace. he give high pitch reaction like the "What?" for... Reaction purposes?? "the art walls" genuinely felt no effort. like "i just wanna be done with this conversation" judgement lyrics were perfect. Just about right until he said "judgement" why is it sound like.. Robotic? He even put "Yong Yea 🐉 eng voice of kiryu" Look how high on horses he is.. You can see the proudness he instill on himself for getting that role.
SEGA sucks ass too cause for some reason they think westerners ars obsessed with these cancerous E celebs, look at ishin with the DLC trooper cards all being vtubers and cringe streamers
I don't think you showed him not being able to take any criticism. Sure he started blocking, but he has been getting the same comments over and over, that's not constructive. People on the Yakuza subreddit where even saying the constant DMs were going to far.
I've certainly heard worse, but I honestly don't see why they'd feel the need to make an English dub in the first place anyway. The vast majority of the world doesn't have English as their first language, and quite frankly I think it's good for those who do to be exposed to different languages every now and then. I watch and listen to media in different languages all the time, and just like dubbed anime is cringe, dubbing Yakuza games was always doomed to be cringe as well...
Yeah, I ran out of money and can't hire artists like before, so the AI waifus are close placeholders, will look to replace with more perfected art when I can afford
