The weekend of the Yorkshire Marathon always means that parkruns in York are a little busier than usual, but this particular weekend it was even busier due to an unofficial With Me Now listener meet up! Some of our lovely podcast listeners from the South were coming to spend time with their With Me Now family in the North and so we thought we'd join them for a catch up.
This was also a new venue for Poppy bringing her to a total of 97 different venues and bagging a rare letter Y for her parkrun alphabet (as well as a Y for her name badge!). It feels like the countdown has now begun to Poppy's 100th different parkrun venue where she'll officially join the Cowell Club!
We volunteered as parkwalkers to encourage others to come and walk at parkrun to get as many people out and active on a Saturday morning as possible and it was lovely to meet families that were there walking parkrun for the first time. Community is such an important part of what makes parkrun special, and you can enjoy the community aspect of parkrun whatever your finish time.
