2 things: 1.) I love how disturbing it is that Kira robotically recites all these personal details to Shigechi as if he isn’t sure how to interact with another person, and 2.) How he only tells him all this because he knows Shigechi won’t be able to tell anyone else
I like to think that in general kira knows how to interact in society but he doesn't want to because it's a fake kira who knows all of that stuff, but this explanation to shigechi is in fact the real kira, someone who is proud of himself, proud of the quiet life he has and has no problem demonstrating that to his victim, the REAL kira that want every possible victim to meet.

It's what brings me happiness in a world fraught with hardship and misery. Of course, if I were ever to engage in combat, I would win the battle without question.
It was a nice detail they made his voice really generic. It makes him feel for simple and not so complicated, like most jojo/villainous characters. This shows that Kira really means it when he wants to live a quiet life and stay hidden out in the open, it's a nice touch. Damn what a great show!

I think it fits considering he's a very calm and independent person. It still comes with a bit of creepiness too. As Evil Barry said in one American Dad episode: "Like a madman's lullaby."
I love how Kira speaks frankly to Shigechi. The kid just discovered your severed hand and you respond by telling him your daily routine and philosophy. All while keeping a calm demeanor. Kira is top tier.
I was today years old when I learned that the VA for Yoshikage Kira is the same VA for Kamoshida in Persona 5. Mr. Douglas is a genius when it comes to playing villians in plain sight.
I like the way he says milk. Also how dub dialouge always adds flavor text to add to a character instead of just copying the original dialouge word for word since its really boring
The dub is well shifted to find out how to creep out the English speaking audience in a way that the original struck with the Japanese audience. “Deadly Queen” killed it, for sure, but copyright is a bitch. It’s a “killer” dub though.
I don't think that's even how copyright works, but the companies are so stupid about it they sue over the drop of a hat. As I understand it copyright exists- or in this case it might be trademark, to avoid confusion and fraud for a company trying to claim the goodwill built up by another brand. Silly homage names of songs in an anime or manga would have no such confusion or defrauding possibility so it's stupid as hell for anyone to care. The legal system is heavily abused and idiotic a great deal of the time though and even defending rightfully against idiocy is extremely expensive.
@@CrysResan Jojo's fear of copyright and trademark started with a PS2 game based on Vento Aureo. It was to have an international release, but the artist Prince who was notorious for being overprotective about things related to his work caught wind (heh) of the Stand Golden Experience. Araki back then was strongly against changing the names of his stands, but no one in America wanted to possibly get sued by Prince due to being tied to localizing Jojo. So the International release was canceled. As we can see, Araki eventually gave into letting Western localizers change the names of his stands in order to secure international releases.

I have to say the English dub for this part is pretty damn spot on, they did a good job with casting. I just wish they could use the *actual* stand names in dub/English sub (of course I know this isn’t their fault, just would be nice to hear/see)
Personally I love dubs and prefer anime that way. This is a prime example of a top tier dub. Plus I love Yoshikage kira and this beautiful scene of Kira reciting his basic info and routine. A bizzare yet awesome scene , so fitting of Jojo's bizzare adventure. Kira is not just my favourite Jojo vilian but one of my favourite anime vilians of all time. The dub did such a fantastic job with his voice . He has a charming , yet normal sophistication to him which hides and yet can intense his menacing presence and psychotic side. Also am I the only one who prefers Deadly Queen over Killer Queen , I probably am 🤔
I prefer Deadly Queen over Killer Queen as well! At first it was jarring for me since I had heard of ‘Killer Queen’ before but after a bit I got used to it and I just love the connotation Deadly Queen gives off. People whine over the localized names a lot but honestly it just comes down to preference and what you heard first aka bias
Most people likely remember Japanese version, but I believe the english dub version sounds a lot more like a charming and full of mysteries man who later reveals to be evil, but even when he's evil he still keeps his character. Evil Prince Charming I say...
Unfortunate that they added the "Not that you'd care" part which isn't in the original version. This whole description was memorable and intimidating because he doesn't care if it's interesting or not. It's awkwardly placed and he continues until the very end, no matter what. It's a sociopath's monologue. Good voice acting, regardless!
it's completely different from the japanese version. that's because they try to make it sync up perfectly with the original so they don't have to reanimate it
sorry but how is adding "not that you'd care" unfortunate? adds a little flavor and the entire speech was still great can't have everything when translating
i love how creepy this monologue is. it shows that the normal parts of yoshi's life is such a boring chore to him that he's memorized his daily schedule enough to explain the whole thing to another person. this shows how few fucks he gives abot being a regular person, deep down, he is just his hand fetish and nothing else and that's terrifying.
With few exceptions-like Yu Yu Hakusho and DBZ-I usually prefer the sub over the dub, but there are times when the dub of a series really shines and this VA did a terrific job. I'll eventually get around to rewatching some series and Jojo will be one of those I watch with the English dub the second time around.
I just realized this: Yoshikage Kira and Shinji Yoshimatsu (from Lycoris Recoil) have the same English dub voice actor- D.C. Douglas! No wonder they sound almost the same.

In Part 8 the main villian says that he named his stand after his favorite song. Even shows him listening to the song on an MP3 (which is Wonder of you by Elvis)
Yeah due to copyright laws here they had to change the stand names for parts 4 and 5 for the english subtitles and dub, some work in my opinion like Shining Diamond, Golden wind and Moody Jazz, then there are the boring ones like heart father and chili pepper, then there are the funny ones like Zipper man and Lil' Bomber which the dub actors some how manage to make sound so much cooler
What's really creepy about Kira's Dub voice is that it sounds like an actual real life serial killer, I mean, I get that Kira is one and he's supposed to sound like that, but the delivery of each line, reminds me of a serial killer interview I saw on TV on time
