I kept my customers yoshi spring puller to help me with the 2 stroke springs. Cause lord I need Thor like strength to get them on, but man! That engine sounds great!
I couldn’t get full exhaust system but I had to put only the muffler on the stock pipe. It sound good but I don’t know if it might have a technical problem
If you've got it to fit securely and without leaks it should be OK. It may even be better than the full system, as some say the larger pipes are worse. If you suspect a fuel delivery issue there are fuel controllers or Malossi makes an o2 emulator.
I assume they gave up because nobody was buying them. This is the only one of it's generation that I've seen in person. I've seen 1 or 2 TMAX 530s. Mine sat for sale used at a big local motorcycle dealer for years before I bought it. There used to be 530s a couple of years old still brand new on the showroom floor in some places trying to be sold for discounts to get rid of them. Not sure if Burgmans and Silverwings have had the same trouble or if it's the idea of a "sport scooter" that doesn't work here. We can get the Kymco AK550i right now, so at least there's one option for something quite similar. I don't think many Americans like big scooters that much. Not sure if it's some sort of scooter stigma where people don't want to be seen on one or if they don't realize how good they can be. They're not fast like some bikes for sure, but they're quite capable and comfortable.
@@49ccscoot Thanks for the interesting explanation..I think the Tmex is perfectly suited for US roads...despite that, I know that the Honda xadv 750 is sold in America.
@@Ronipaperoni Not sure how the NC750X sells here (what they call the XADV). I don't even think about it because it doesn't look like a scoot. Probably helps sales for the people nervous their friends might see them on a scooter.
I started out on cars, so this is so easy compared to crawling around under a Mustang trying to get single piece exhaust pipes over an axle. Overall, not too bad really and I enjoy hearing the engine.
I don't really use covers, but you should be able to get a universal motorcycle cover that would fit well enough or maybe there are universal maxi-scoot covers.
i have a question sir first of all ur a master into this second does any akrapovic no matter what model and type fits Tmax 2009 ? i got one and wondering if it does and what do u recommend yoshimura or akra ?
I'm not sure if the pipes for various years are all interchangeable. They all look pretty similar in pics, but that doesn't mean they will bolt up because it wouldn't take much change to throw off the fit. In addition, it's possible that they are more ideal for different engines due to design... but I'm not sure how much effort they really put into exhaust tuning. If you have the pipe and the scoot, there's one sure way to find out. Taking the original exhaust off isn't so difficult that I wouldn't try it if I wanted to use the Akrapovic pipe.
I have a 2009 Tmax with the Akrapovic pipes and muffler. I forgot the model but it has a stainless steel muffler with a carbon fiber end and single exhaust exit. It weighs 10 lbs less than stock. It is slightly louder and deeper note. It fit perfectly without doing any modifications, just remove stock and bolt on the Akro. Took about half hour. Good luck with your mod!
