Nice review James. I think I'll stick with my Dave-a-ton aka my Sunny bike. The only thing I'd like to see would be some kind of gauge for resistance. I dont even care of its arbitrary number as long as its a consistent arbitrary number so I can see if I'm getting stronger, etc. Id like to see a bike this range with electronics for that instead of distance. To me, a spin bike isnt really about distance. I want time, resistance and cadence...and with that you can calculate output. Just my 2 cents.
Hey. Just bought the newest Yosuda (released June 2021) on Amazon. Found you searching for videos about the bike. What importance does a heavier flywheel have for these stationary bikes / spin bikes? I’m new to the trend. And didn’t want to shell out $1500 + subscription fees and special shoes for the Peloton. So planning to use the much cheaper Yosuda + my ipad for a similar at-home biking experience.
So that is a good question. There are several different ways that bikes can add resistance and optimize for a smooth ride experience. Some bikes use magnet resistance, others leather pads, or for yosuda a get pad. Each have pros and cons to them. The fly where weight in combination can provide a more fluid ride and help with adding that extra resistance. Usually a heavier flywheel is a nicer ride, but there are many factors. Hard to say. My sunny bike is coming up on a year with no issues. I have read reports that the bikes last a long time and others not so much. Hard to say, sorry to hear yours was laid to rest
