In his defence, he just reacted like most people would, its hardly surprising. He didn't escalate it, he did stop when you asked him to, and he did start to show a little smile and he started to like you. He knew he was going to end up really liking you and having a convo, so he retreated to safety to save face. I reckon he is a fairly decent gentleman.

Guys like that man were the men who made England great. Small niche business often operating out of little garages. They are a dying breed. I realise he was wrong about the law but I still have great respect for him for running a business instead of having his hand out.

The Brits are the best! even when the old boy who was obviously annoyed at you filming still remained quite polite in trying to explain his perceived view of the law in your activities.

Great example of how your calm auditing style is so effective. If you can stay calm against aggression, the aggressor doesn’t know what to do. If that’s the owner’s attitude, I suspect it mag not be a nice place to work. Other than perhaps PJ, most other auditors wouldn’t have been quite so successful. Well done! 👍
Calm? Hardly. ST Audits is calmer than him and he has respect for others, and also isn't reporting pointless things. He documents the issues in our country, and does so without feeling the need to argue with people.

Don’t you think the documentary would have been so much better with the owner in the loop. If you are going to make a serious documentary that is structured you don’t just start filming without the owner on board. If he did this then he would not be asking so many questions about the business.It is obvious that D.J has another agenda. That agenda is to wind up people and get a reaction and play it too people for entertainment. Photography is not a crime however if you want the ideal person to give an example of this then go watch Focus Pocus. Unfortunately D.J just does not cut it as the most important ingredient is missing from these and that is the owners involvement which would have led to loads of information first hand and a factory tour. As a documentary very poor I’m afraid.

The waste in the bag is most likely the supporting fiber from the hoses plus the bits of attached rubber that isn't as easy to detach for reprocessing and destined for landfill, whilst the majority of the removed rubber or plastic can then be sold on for re use . At a guess.

"What do you think you're doing?" is always a bad way to start a conversation. I can understand how he wanted to keep it a secret (in full view) because no one's ever seen blue hose before. It's always a laugh when people inform you of the 'offence' by just telling you what you're actually doing; which you already know.
It's like those with an inflated ego who say "Don't you know who I am?" When I was once confronted by a pompous idiot who asked me that once, my response was to ask him if he needed medical attention if he couldn't remember who he was.
I get people's concern for what is unusual activity. In all probability I would react the same. He was unable to list the numerous offences you were allegedly breaching so maybe he learned from this. A calm explanation like this wont always work but you always give it a chance and on this occasion it did so well done.
Not to add fuel to his paranoia but there are thousands of £ of free hose lying around for the taking. A container or fenced in area might be better now that you've advertised to the locals where they can get free hose. 🤣
He might be the owner but has absolutely no common sense where public photography laws are concerned. Stating there was a camera right behind him is ok for him to record you but not you to record what you can see in public makes a total mockery of his statement about breaking numerous laws. You’re misunderstanding the term publicly accessible in this instance - once it was clear he didn’t want you there you should have left as the area no longer permitted to be there and therefore it does not meet the definition of publicly accessible.

I went to factories to install the piping system to make that product move from the grinder to either a surge bin or a mixer called a blender then would be sent to the machine where the product is made. It pretty exciting.

To be fair, on their website they say they do "recycling for 90% of the UK's major hose manufacturers" - that does NOT mean the same as doing 90% of the UK's hose recycling but you seem to think it does.
yep, marketing swizz, proberly the same marketing company that helps Boris. Of the 90%, the 10% is biggest manufactuer of UK hose, 73% of the UK market that they don't have a contract with to take they old stock to recycle. So 90% in real terms is 3% recycling of UK made hose that they do.
I've been to many factories on the American side and they use grinders and they are loud. But some plastics come in powder and get rotated to form what ever product example a cooler example yeti.
