For all my life, I've been the quiet girl, the poodle, the girl pretending to be a boy, the girl that seeks attention... I've been so much and people have called me all kinds of names and they stick to me so much that I've been there... I've been at the stage that I don't feel like I'm worth it. Alexandra Defreitas sometimes when people assume that you're supposed to be smart it may play upon an insecurity because that person may not be as 'smart' as is expected upon them. so then it may play a part of a person's self esteem in terms of their abilities not necessarily their physical appearance. this is just a perspective i'd like to share.

Alexandra Defreitas actually it can suck. When you are labelled as "smart" all this extra pressure is added onto you to do well and succeed. Everyone has there bad days when they fail a test or get a bad mark, but if you're labelled as "smart" it's so much worse because you can't just shrug it off as a bad day. The pressure of school is high enough without us assuming that someone who we have labelled as "smart" could never fail.

I'm Asian too, it sucks when there's always pressure on you to come out on top. I've always got that from everyone, parents, classmates, friends even. But that's life and there's stereotypes to every 'kind of person'

I live in Sweden so we get food in school which is really good, anyways sometimes its not the best food and then I dont eat so much. When one my friends saw my plate with almost no food she said: - why didnt you take food? I said that I didnt like it. She said: -You eat like a baby. And some people call me skinny but i have a skinny waist so thats not going to change just because they call me skinny

I can relate to you! I have a fast metabolism too. I find it offensive when they say "Oh you're so boney" or "Don't you ever eat?" I also find it annoying how people say "Ugh I'm so Fat I wish I was skinny like you." Like no! Don't ever say that! You're beautiful just the way you are. Everyone was created differently and appearance doesn't even matter in the first place. Your physical appearance doesn't determine who you are in the inside. Some people need to understand that. I'm skinny and healthy. I love who I am. I love the real me. Nothing in the world can change that. :)

I disagree. I think the bullying problem is coming to light due to social media, but it has always been a rampant problem. I knew kids and teenagers bullied beyond belief well before The Internet and my aunts and uncles all have similar stories from when they were kids 50+ years ago. Even my grandfather has stories of bullies and he's 80. If anything, social media has done some good because now that it's out there -- even if it doesn't stop bullying it allows the bullied to know the are not alone.

I know how you feel. Everyone is saying that I'm a failure for not embracing my intelligence. I want to go to a good arts school to become a better writer (creative writing) but every teacher is trying to convince me that it's not worth my time and that I should go to IB

I understand, I would love to be a photographer or a cinematographer, but was told not to be the "starving artist" and waste my intelligence, but the truth is I will pursue what ever career I want, and I don't care what others say.

I am an IB-student myself, but I was not forced to become one. I chose the IB because it seemed like a challenging and interesting programme to join. I wouldn't say that I am psrticullary "smart" either, that is irrelevant, I joined the programme because I liked the philosophy of it and even though I might not be the best at math or physics (lol) we all have our stronger sites and the IB really showcase that! If your school has group 6 (arts) which my school doesn't, you can even choose an artsy subject in there! However, if IB is not what you wish to do then you shouldn't. Follow your own wishes, your own dreams and do not listen to others. But please do not be afraid of the IB! At least my experience is that the people I have met at the IB have been some of the friendliest people I have met!

I'm an IB student too and I just survived a week of concerts, 6 tests, english orals and 2 essays so yes it is extremely stressful. Dont make one grade let you down, IB has those weeks where you feel like crap but you will manage! I believe in you :) but IB is not just for smart people who are super nerds. It can showcase your talents and if you have IB art you should take that :) doing IB doesnt mean you need to become a doctor in the future. I have so many friends who did it to challenge themselves and they are doing art and graphic designing etc in college :) but if you feel that IB isnt a match and isnt working out for you, dont feel pressured to take it. Always remember you can achieve anything and who cares if you arent rich. If youre doing something you love you can make that sacrifice and it wont even bother you. I wish you the luck with your high school career

You must be 16 now, I wonder how you are doing? I want to say I read your story and it is extraordinary after all. You are a survivor, a fighter, you are valiant, courageous, bold, and brilliant. Sometimes we feel like ugly ducklings when we are surrounded by people who don't value our beauty, inside and out, and we are unsure of it ourselves. Find yourself - find who you are, what you love, what makes you happy - and immerse yourself in it. Ask yourself who am I, what do I love, what do I care about, what matters to me, what do I want? And you will find yourself. Attention from boys is so meaningless and often more harmful than good. Yea it might feel nice to get some instant attention, but at the end of the day when people only compliment your outer beauty often you might start losing yourself to some superficial perception of who you should be. Boys get turned on by fruit and the wind so their attention is nothing flattering. And boys who pay so much attention to looks often don't do well at monogamy and being a good partner anyways so at the end of the day, that attention has a hefty price tag. Better to find yourself and get attention by way of your talent, your skills, your insight, your brilliance. 👸 And better to give yourself the most attention of all so that you fulfill yourself 💖

When I was 15 I was just like you, it is almost like you are describing me as a teen. Today, I am a mother of two, I have been with my hubby for almost 7 years and still going strong (some people ask if we just got married lol) I have a masters degree, I am bilingual (I have actually studied 4 languages but Im not fluent yet) We were able to buy our house out right and one of the cars and most of what we own, now, we are moving to another country (a job offer and more college ed). Now, I am not telling you all this to brag, I dont like to brag, I am telling you this because when I was 15 everybody called me a loser, a nerd, a geek, a slut, dumb, ugly, and a bunch of other insulting stuff, I got beat up and other stuff, I let it get to me and got depressed, I thought I would never achieve anything in my life, I thought I was never going to be missed if I died. I thought I was a loser, I was wrong. There is no way for you to know how the future will be, but you are in control. Dont let the bullies get to you. My bullies? Most of them didnt make it past high school.

I'm so sorry for your loss. That is just utterly sick. I can't believe young kids would bully another kid into suicide. I can't imagine the struggle you went through, I'm so so sorry.

I have the same thing, but nobody is bullied at my school, but just watching these videos and reading the comments makes you realize that that isn't the same for everyone

What you can do is not bully the persons that bully, but back up the ones that are bullied. Or just question people that are bullying: Why do you feel that you need to do that? I have learned that facing people with their actions can be very effective. Most bullies try to cover up their own insecurities, but that is no excuse. Instead of bullying, become strong and a better version of yourself. :) It may take more work and feel less nice first, but there are less regrets in the long run.

If they ever say you act like your older just tell them you as older and more mature.

"Why can't we all be comfortable in our own skin?" Because there is an image of perfection, media or not, that people are going to try to achieve, and will feel inadequate until they fulfill that perfection. People are pressured to be happy and not care what anyone else thinks, and Lord have mercy on their souls of they do care, for all of the negative criticism they'll receive. There is always going to be someone you think is better and who you will want to strive to be like, mentally, physically, emotionally, or all of the above.

Oh my gosh!! I tought I was alone ! I am soo skinny too, and I am a bit short and some peoplr think that I am anorexic..but most people do underatand my situation ....and do u know what!...we might not be curvy or whatever ...but when we wear crop top. It suits is soo much because our belly is flat and pretty (no offense to anyone who is a bit more thicker) so yeah, just think about urself..my mum always tells me "I may be very skinny now,but who knows when I would grow up more and more, my body could look like a Models body" so keep that quote with u and be strong :)

Just to let you know, God is so weird it tickles my tummy :) And of course, you can never be another person or as good as someone else because that's the thing they are good at. Lol maybe it isn't to you, or maybe I'm just way to sensitive or too presured during the times that she made me feel bad, here's the thing thou while everyone else is talking, the person in front of me can barely even hear me she somehow picks up my voice and decides to pick on me and me only and I honestly don't know why..... At times i will be loud but most of these times are when everyone else is talking and its not instruction time or anything but apparently all she hears is me.... She made me feel like i was posibly the most annoying person you'll ever meet, although I didn't mention this earlier but she does indeed call me annoying and its not just once, I know I'm still really sensitive about it but I feel like she probably could've said it in a more friendly way other than just strait up calling me annoying. The word annoying was probably what made me feel bad, and well I have this habit of thinking about everything that happened in the day or week and every time I remember that annoying I just felt like maybe everyone thought that, maybe they just didn't say it to be nice and somehow I came to the point that probably everyone thought I was annoying no one actually enjoys talking to me but either ways yes I was possibly just way to sensitive, and yah it's nothing compared to the examples in the video, I'm just a way way too sensitive person who shouldn't even be talking or expressing my feelings, and hey she's saying the truth Im just annoying.

AsheghePersianz People don't kill themselves because they're weak but because they've been strong for too long. It's selfish and insensitive to expect someone whose suffering in a way you could never possibly understand to just deal with the pain.

je suis métisse aussi (ma mère est française et mon père est capverdien) alors je te comprends tout à fait... J'ai tout le temps peur qu'on me voit d'une mauvaise manière à cause de ça, qu'on pense que je ne parle pas bien français...ect
