You Are Not COMP!!! 

There is a lot to unpack here… First of all, to play ProAM you not only have to get 5 people online, you have to have 5 guys who can communicate to play team ball and have the corresponding builds to do it effectively. Most reject Pro-AM teams have 1-2 guys that could actually thrive in a comp environment. Makes no sense to go there knowing you have liabilities on your team. I do agree with you about the whole Zone thing. I LOVE when Rec squads play Zone because 90% of them don’t know what they’re doing and its easy money if your team can shoot mid ranges and be patient passing the ball around. 2K has to have a better ranking system so the best of the best ONLY play against amongst themselves. The matchmaking logic is horrid and needs an overhaul. Oh, and until 2K decides to prioritize PROAM (Let squads of 4 play each other, better rewards, an actual arena, matchmaking, a pre-game shootaround, working alternate jerseys, etc. 2K NEEDS TO KNOW THAT PROAM IS THE MAIN MODE PEOPLE WANT TO PLAY!!! MAYBE AN UNRANKED MODE OR “RANDOM REC” FOR CASUAL PLAYERS IDK… let me know what you think

The thing is that most “teams” aren’t built for taking on more serious gameplay. People take pride in being able to get a high win% vs randoms instead of taking a more challenging game mode and going up against actual comp. I have gone in with 5 but it’s not a consistent 5 or ever the same 5

2-3 zone is literally so bad, like just stand in the freethrow and have someone cut, that eazy 5v5 rec well i feel like 99 rec is comp games at least 45% of games 92u rec feels like playing MyCareer so really trying to find a medium where not only me but my friends have a good time, and not talking about having a 50pt game but winning in a team fashion my team averages 25 assists a game depending on how comp it is and we hustle play for fun we barely even play 4 games to then go play wz

I think it’s a lack of basic comprehension. People don’t understand that what they watch on screen in a competitive environment is totally different from their random experience. I watch mainly NBA but I don’t go to the park expecting my team to drop 50 in a pick up game off pick and rolls splashing three’s at a 50+ clip. When I go to rec as a big I stick to my role. I play help D, stretch the floor, set screens, and grab as many boards as I can. I am in no way a great player and I’m ok with that. If I help get the W all the better. The amount of talk that comes out of some of these players and their lack of actual ball knowledge is baffling. On the point of zone, I think this is a great example of a community that has never played organized ball on any level. No school, AAU, or even local recreational leagues youth or otherwise. I was taught zone at the age of 13 and I would never run it in rec because I am not a comp player.

I think it’s more of us a community settling for less. I hate that the 5v5 all star was taken away and nobody seems to notice it. We’re definitely in a majority rules society.

i play rec with 5 sometimes but we are bums and never run zone, miss half of our open 3s

Dude avoid rec cause they want easy wins thats why..same at the park HOF and Gold status plays will literally jump from court to court looking for the worst teams to beat up on, then when a good team comes to get next.. they leave and go look for another court with low overall players who just wanna hoop so they can get easy rep whilst avoiding competition... 😂😂..

Bro it’s literally just faster to go in the rec with five 😂 and anyone who plays comp knows that ranked pro am is literally the same skill level as rec. and we can’t play comp matches ups all day because it takes 45 to an hour just to get 1 game started and people don’t get on to play till like 8pm
