Three absolutely beautiful women Barbara Gant, Fay Spain and the Secret Word Model. The lighting director and cameramen were artists in their own right, not sure if they had a studio make-up artist or not.....Simply beautiful.
Ah, Groucho Marx and You Bet Your Life, with an aspiring actress named Fay Spain (I believe this was a 1956 episode before Fay did movies and television). Another point, Fay also did photos for men's magazines of the day in the Fifties. Lovely actress. May she rest in peace. As for Groucho, I really admired his comedy, whether he was with the Marx Bros. or hosted this program. One of the classiest acts in Hollywood. That's why he was the One, the Only Groucho. Thanks for uploading this wonderful gem.
Has to be one of my many favourites; I enjoy the interaction between the contestants and Grouch. The band also chimes in. Merci pour le téléchargement.
Faye Spain was an actress on plenty of westerns i.e. "Laramie", "Wanted Dead or Alive" and even on Andy Griffith Show. She played in many movies including The Godfather.
Man, that reading teacher was a knockout then, and she'd be hot by today's standards, too! When she said she wasn't busy after the show, I'd have told my father in law to finish up the show for me - I gotta get ready for a date!
I still use PET canned milk. It's a little hard to find in my area, but it's what my grandmother used in her pie recipes and I don't want to change anything.
How about that! We see Groucho''s father-in-law as a contestant. If any other person were in the central part of this show in place of Groucho, it would have been an entirely different end-product. Even with the same music, the same format of questions and answers, the duck, George - it just would have been as different as a rose is from a daisy....maybe as a rose is from a duck. Fascinating!
Groucho's comment about marriage at 8:40 was right! Many women say they are not thinking or interested in marriage , but they seem to change their minds...a lot.
I thought she looked familiar. She is an actress and was married and divorce at the age 16 She played in many movies. And was on an episode of Gunsmoke.
It's funny that Fay Spain wasn't thinking about marriage, yet she was married four times. She died so young, after a storied career in films and television.
