I like how you drew the outline of the pond with the dozer. I always thought CAD stood for Computer Aided Design. Apparently, it really stands for Caterpillar Aided Design. Who knew? Man, I really need this message. This has been the most stressful week I've had in the last 10 years, I think. Thanks for sharing brother.

You are doing a great job, but you can do it quicker by using the dozer to push in your cor between lifts. You do a lot of good for others.

Here in east Texas my brother n law digs the core out and I use the bottom of pond and push dirt in core and I pack with dozer and keep pushing to make dam love the show

Ok bad dirt so get good clay and pack right But who’s to say that any where in the pond that lets say 6” under the good clay is shit dirt again. So again it brings me back to the dams everyone puts. I’m only trying to understand that method versus just digging and packing without a damn. Maybe it’s to get rid of the dirt?.

You almost always have a mixture of good and bad dirt. You use the best dirt, good for packing, to build the dam. The rest can go on the backside of the dam to lessen the slope.

Why do you need a damn? What’s wrong with simply digging and skipping the damn. I’m in Louisiana and NO ONE has a damn so I’m just trying to understand the reason why most of the people do build a damn.

If you build a pond on flat or relatively flat ground you can dig a hole and hold water. When you build a pond on sloped ground you build a dam to hold back water. The higher the dam the more water you can hold.
