I wish people would stop saying fasting is a fad. It is not new. The words "intermittent" may be new or "time restricted eating" but the act is not. Please do your research.
@marlaelliott398
@marlaelliott398 Год назад
Fasting is nearly as ancient as mannkind. Fasting is the only thing that works for me. But you have to use your common sense and work with your own body. For example if I have fasted for three days and start to feel dizzy I eat something light and then I intermittent fast and the following week I do another 2 or 3 day water fast. And I keep carbs at about 60 or less grams when I eat. For some reason it may not work for all people but it does work for a lot of other people.

Absolutely, Tracey! Eating twice or even once a day and 90% whole-food plant-based simply used to be a reality for all cultures. An 18th century rice farmer is healthier than today’s strong men! Haha 😂

I don’t like the interviewers badging of reasonable eating concepts as “fads”. She has done that throughout this 3 part series. The real fad is the completely dumb current nutritional guidelines which are against both the science and also the accepted eating behaviours prior to the 1960s.

That part about soda taxes being regressive being voiced by the soda companies, that is the whole truth. Much respect Doc
@mj8495
@mj8495 Год назад
So the people with the poorest health outcomes would be incentivized the most to NOT drink what is killing them is bad? It sounds a lot like arguing working class people smoke more, so taxing cigarettes is regressive. Maybe government should take the tax revenue from the unhealthy stuff and subsidize whole foods for those same populations? Just a crazy idea 😊

How about no milk? Cows milk is meant for calves. An actual soybean is not that high in omega 6, soybean oil is. Also, look how lactaid milk is processed. He preaches whole foods then says drink lactaid milk. Milk straight from a cow only lasts about a week. The stuff in the store is ultra processed so it can be shelf stable.

You don't need sodas in your life, that's ridiculous but people who eat unhealthy buy them although they could save money by not buying them. Snacking chips, candies, cookies etc... is not needed but people who eat unhealthy buy them although they could save money by not bying them. We often see poor people in fast foods. Do they need those fast foods. No! Eating at home is always cheaper including a healthy meal at home vs a crappy meal in a fast food. Actually when you eat healthy you get fuller longer so you don't feel the need for extra snacks. Your 3 meals/day max is enough. The more you eat healthy the less craving you have for processed food the less you need to eat, so you don't crave for ice creams or soda anymore and you slowly but naturally eat less . Eating real food does not have to be expensive. It is the processed food industry that keep claiming that because poor, low educated people are their main clients and target. I grew up poor, but thankfully, my mum knew how to cook everything and was interested enough in what we eat to educate herself by listening to dieticians and nutritionist physicians on TV. Since she grew up in Congo, she realized that the best thing to do was simply to do how she had been taught growing up in Congo and not follow the newer western diet who relies way too much on processed food. Eating a diversed REAL FOOD mainly is all you need. It can be super expensive or very affordable depending on what you buy.

Not true, real whole grain bread is freshly milled. That wheat germ and fiber only last 3-5 days after being milled that's why whole grain bread taste like crao and is crap for you. It's basically white bread but with rancid germ and fiber. You want to germ and fiber to actually work and not be rancid you have to eat the bread within 3-5 days. Not sift it out like most bakers do either. Get a grinder and grind you own wheat berries like thy use to. Look up Sue becker. Btw it taste great and soft and so much better than even white bread. It's not a big lump of crap like he said. Hes talking about a different way to do it, almost like not milling the wheat berry which is so weird and wouldnt take good at all. Just freshly mill it and eat it under a week and you get all those nutrients.

A friend of mine was just finishing the eggs, steak and bacon of his first breakfast the other day when his wife's cat brought him a dead mouse - as mice tend to do when they want to "reward" their keepers with a gift. He politely thanked the cat and assured the animal that he was quite full and that she "Clawdia" should go ahead and consume the rodent herself. It got my friend to thinking: If cats have a natural tendency to act as our predators-by-proxy could they be trained to hunt small edible birds on our behalf - quail, grouse, mourning doves, etc.? Then, remembering that Clawdia had recently helped herself to both of his son's goldfish (named "Goldilocks" and "FIns" ) while the family was out at the local butcher, the "idea bulb" got even brighter. Perhaps cats could also be trained to "catch and deliver" on our behalf,s mall mackerel, herring, tlapia, etc.

It's astonishingly ignorant of him to say that the benefits of fasting can be achieved by eating a better diet instead, and only someone who absolutely does not know the subject would venture to say something so wrong. Some people will listen to this video and believe him on account of the self-confidence he displays, and they'll be cheated out of pursuing one of the most singularly helpful courses of action they could do for themselves. To them I urge them to listen to Michael Mosley and Jason Fung, for example. As for him, I'm not forgiving him for this and in the future I won't be listening to any more of his talks.
