Yea same but it's was not near death but I was able to think quicker and all thing I hear was slow [Actually I fell off from a swing and thrown in sky when I was 9 year old]
Me too I ended up driving into a tree and had to choose between that or drowning in a frozen. I'll never forget how slow it felt like time was going in the mirror 2 seconds felt like 5 minutes
I got into a fight with my brother and he tried jumping at me. Same thing happened. I was able to counter but all that did was piss him off even more. There’s also sometimes when I play rhythm games the scroll speed seems slower than usual
I have used this a lot in Martial Arts and Boxing. Both in training and fighting. Here are a couple of articles on altering your perception of time, the first I wrote over a decade ago and the second is on using peripheral vision/awareness to enhance this, from a different author. Time Distortion and Perceptual speed..... What exactly is time distortion, and how does it relate to perceptual speed? First of all Time Distortion is not really distorting time as the term suggests, but is the ability to "fully" experience time without perceptual gaps. Perceptual gaps occur when your attention is divided between actually experiencing the moment, and your thoughts (about the moment. Your awareness bounces back and fourth between your thoughts and the actual moment, creating perceptual gaps and making things seem much faster and "unclearer" than they really are! For example, say your opponent is about to throw a punch at you, you know his fist starts out at point A. and whips out in a blur to point B. (your face?). You may tell yourself "man this guy is fast", or something like that? Or think to yourself "the hand is truly quicker than the eye". But what actually happened is that your awareness was divided between your thoughts (of trying to follow the continuity of his movement and so fourth) and the actual movement and moment itself! You Saw point A. and maybe A.3 A.6 A.8 and point B of his punch, but A.1 A.2 A.4 A.5 A.7 and A.9 appeared as a blur to you (if at all) because of perceptual gaps in your awareness! Another example is: Let's suppose you are sparring. Your opponent feints a high jab, lead punch or shoulder fake, you 'think' in your mind, "he's coming with a high jab!" (anticipation/thinking in the future), then as you begin to react or adjust your defenses, he pops you with a low hook kick! Then you think to yourself, oh he didn't come with a jab (as you anticipated) he came low instead! And while you are thinking and realizing this, he is probably hitting you upstairs again! If you would have been in the moment, and totally (externally focused), not listening to your "internal dialogue," but instead completely (experiencing) your surroundings and the "present moment," you would not have gone for that initial fake or feint while trying to anticipate your opponents actions! It is far better to be in the moment and sense or feel what your opponent is doing, rather than anticipating or making an educated guess as to what he will, or is going to do! So how can we develop and use time distortion? Do you have to become Zen Masters? While that wouldn't hurt, it's not necessary! Here are some exercises you can practice and master with relative ease that will enable you to use time distortion at will! No matter how "fast" your opponent is, his movements will seem to crawl, and you will be able to time everything perfectly! He will find no gaps where you awareness is not present! You will be able to do virtually whatever you want to with your opponent, because you will literally have much more time to do it in. What used to seem like blinding speed to you will now seem slow to you! And you will also not tend to anticipate and go for feints and fakes and make mistakes, and you will become very aware of all the "gaps" or emptiness in your (opponents awareness) and defenses! Exercises......................... 1. Practice placing your attention on a rapidly moving object without attempting or "trying" to see it or follow the continuity of it's movement. You should feel almost as if you were looking in the opposite direction! You need not "care" if you perceive the object or not.Learn to see things in this way, in this state of relaxed awareness And for the JKD side of this skill! Read page #124 of your Tao of Gung Fu book! "No mindedness is to employ the "whole mind" as we use the eyes when we "rest" them upon various objects but make (no) special (effort) to take anything in." 2. Practice quiet meditation, that is tuning in to your senses and what they are continually telling you in the present moment. And tune out to your internal dialogue or "chatter". Continually experience what you can see, feel, hear etc. without verbalizing or mechanically structuring the observations. Get close to the moment, in touch with the present and externally focused! For example when you look at an object, you probably verbalize or think actual words that describe the object "flat, rough, flexible, dry etc.. Instead, try to use your eyes as a sense of touch. Observe and take in the object with out using words/images! Or as Bruce Lee used too practice "the mirroring of the mind "(i.e., allowing perceptions thoughts and emotions to come and go as a mirror "reflects" images or thoughts, but does not cling or stop.) Today, mental exercises and meditation are often preceded by deep progressive relaxation of the muscles and body. As the mind and body tend to mirror each other, how can you have a relaxed, quiet, still and focused mind without letting go of tensions in the body? Now as for our final question, how does this relate to perceptual speed? Well this is the foundation and basis of perceptual speed! People always tell me the hand is quicker than the eye, or blame their senses for being too slow! When in reality, it is that they are not sufficiently aware of the moment and everything their senses are actually telling them! How far you take this depends on your self discipline and dedication! Science And The Martial Arts: Deadpan Eyes By Christopher Caile If you have ever faced an opponent who seemed to look past you, eyes fixed, unfocused and slightly narrowed, the experience can be unnerving. Now it turns out that this “look” has a tactical advantage too. I have always taught my students that when facing an opponent you should never focus (fix your gaze, attention or thoughts) on any specific attack once it is launched. This leaves you more vulnerable to a secondary attack because you then have to shift attention and focus (or worse, your thoughts) to what comes next, and this takes time. Instead I have taught students to focus on the entire opponent, and if an attack comes to keep a general focus (dealing with the attack in peripheral vision and reacting spontaneously) so that you are alert to what might come next (Zen state of mind). This way you are able to pick up secondary attacks sooner, sometimes even before their initiation, since your focus (awareness) is general and always alert. Recent research has added a new twist. It has been found that when you keep your eyes still, not blinking or moving (as suggested above), the perception of time itself slows. Thus, when you keep your gaze steady and unfocused (on an opponent and any potential attack), not only are you able to pick up secondary movement more quickly, but also these movements will seem to come slower (less condensed in time). A recent study by Concetta Morrone, John Ross and David Burr reported in Nature Neuroscience found that subjective time is compressed around the onset of the normal rapid, jerky eye movements people perform thousands of times daily. These movements are performed automatically to align subjects of interest (something focused upon) with the center of the eye which can perceive in higher definition (high acuity fovea such as are used in reading or other detailed perceptual activities). In this study participants compared the time between two sets of two horizontal bars flashed before their eyes, the first set just before and the second set just after a saccade (jerky eye movement). Study participants reported that the time interval between the flashed sets of the two horizontal bars seemed to be equal, when in fact the second flash time was one half of the former. Thus the subjective time was doubled near the saccade onset (the actual gap was 100ms versus 50ms). This has important potential implications for martial artists. If you allow your eyes to dart around in their natural fast jerky movements trying to focus on an attack (such as the arm or fist of an attacking limb) only to refocus again on a secondary attack, the second attack will seem to come faster. But, if instead you control your eyes to keep an unmoving, non-blinking "unfocused overview" of an opponent, your perception of time and any attack will slow. This research finding reminded me of the famous essays of the Japanese Zen monk, Takuan Soho, to a master swordsman written three and one half centuries ago. Takuan’s discourses, while not discussing physical aspects of keeping the eyes fixed and unfocused, do discuss a parallel mental state. Relating Zen to the psychology of conflict, Takuan stresses the importance of keeping the mind stabilized (fixed without thought) during conflict. Takuan cautions the swordsman that if your mind becomes occupied with an opponent’s attack (such as a downward sword strike) and if the defender thinks of meeting that attack, his mind will "stop". This will undo the defender and he will be cut down since the mind was stopped (was filled, something which stops the natural flow of spontaneous reaction). It is in Zen meditation (practice of the mental aspects) that both the fixed, unfocused gaze and the clear mind are practiced. In sitting, most often the student fixes his or her gaze in front, unfocused while keeping (at least trying to keep) the mind clear of thoughts, ideas or images through intent focus on total awareness and perception. This research study may explain yet another reason why Zen meditation can help in self-defense situations. Hope it provides some insight to some!?! :-)
Time is relative.. If we are really focused into something, our brain cant process time properly and time flies. If we are very bored or even mindful, our brain will be very well aware of time. Explains why playing video games makes time fly while studying slows time down.
Figured this out for myself a while ago, refreshing to hear again, and glad someone could put it in such great words and animation to describe it.. Tried explaining this to a lot of people in the past, and like usual with my knowledge people think I'm just insane. So thankyou again, will subscribe.. Knowledge is key, intelligence is superior style of life.
For some reason in all the slow motion experiences people have, it seems to be in school playing dodgeball or just dodging a ball in general. Very strange?
Well, for me it's different. I'm able to slow motion down anytime when I concentrate/do exactly the opposite. For example, I can see the drops of water in the shower falling down so slow that I can describe their form. If I want to count how many times my mixer turns around, I can slow that down. Even sometimes while being in a conversation, it already happened to me that I see the facial expressions slower and hear the sound normal. But normally I can ignore that and kinda turn my vision back to normal. It definitely comes in handy in Martial Arts, because I'm able to react faster. I once asked a doctor about that and she guessed that it was because my brain seems to be "working faster" and because of my IQ. If someone knows what that exactly is, please tell me.
the only two times it happened to me was when i was very sick in a different country at like 5am. I felt like i was in slowmotion for 2 hours but omly 9 minutes went by
I have autism and I hated school which was a waste of my life. So time for me was very slow and I couldn't handle it. One problem I had was waiting in line for lunch in the cafeteria because when you're near the back of the line, you're not going to have enough time to eat. That's when a bunch of classmates ignored me when I yelled: "COME ON, HURRY UP!" When going on long distance car rides my parents didn't care how I felt about back roads because they're too slow and are a waste of time when we could have taken the fastest routes that prevent time loss. So the choice my parents made over and over again for back roads could have easily been avoided. They were boring and nothing important was out there for me. I even yelled: "COME ON, HURRY UP!" But in my childhood, I couldn't understand speed limit signs, I do now, so as autistic as I am, I can still drive, so when I drive, I take the freeway. It's faster and easier and doesn't waste time and you can get to your final destination sooner. And most people on the freeway are the ones I pass because they are putsing. As for school, all it did was keeping me sit in one spot for several hours when I could have been at home doing fun things, but I had no choice. So school was actually the worst part of my life. All things that were bad for me took away my time and even slowed my wasted time down. I wish there's a way to speed it up on bad things and slow it down on good things, but we can't. That's just how life is and we have to make due with it, sorry guys.
I have autism and I too have a short attention span, so I totally get your frustrations. If society would not slow us down with school and other mandatory stuff, we could achieve such great things right? What is so fun about taking back roads, outside of once in a while, when you're feeling touristic? At least you can choose now for yourself.
@@ronanbakker If you like back roads, good for you, but I don't have time for them. I don't have to do school anymore, but work does slow my time down like school did.
@@ericwood2062 I only work part time and I love A-wegen / snelwegen , the fastest roads. School felt a bit useless cause I learnt reading before it. I hope you at least like your job, otherwise it can feel like a drag.
I also have autism. The retarded and the angels are able to time travel. I have been desperately trying to time travel recently without any success. It has something to do with listening to a watch tick. But other than that I am unsure. I need to figure this out!!
@@jimmybutler7202 We all want to time travel, but life doesn't work that way for us. At least you can look at photos of your childhood, that's similar to the time travel you're thinking of.
I time travel to a parallel reality a few weeks ago. This is not a joke! I had no clue about time travel or how to do it even. This happened instantaneously where I did not even know what happened for a few seconds after until I started seeing complete Randomness happening around me. This led me to Einstein after the fact and quantum entanglement and also quantum physics. I'm not even sure how I got back to my reality but I'm sure it was the same way that led me into a parallel reality is what I'm guessing. I'm pretty sure that it had something to do with the frequency that was happening in my brain. if anyone has any answers it would be greatly appreciated because this has completely boggled my mind ever since. this is also leading me on a journey to figure out exactly what happened and that is why I am here
Einstein is great at explaining scientifically how time travel works but actually making it happen is a different matter entirely. Those who do time travel have not got any clue as to the science behind what is going on. I believe you that you time travelled. It has something to do with the mind and perception. What were you thinking when you did actually time travel? What was your frame of mind? Did you have the timing in your head like a ticking watch?
man i love how humans are actually so unique and full of gifts... the thing is, we never believe it, we perceive super heroes, aliens, extra terrestrial beings, as a higher for of us, but the truth is, we've never compared ourselves to them, what if one day, a UFO lands on earth, and makes first contact, only to find them calling our species a unique one, if that were to happen, that would prove that humanity is the best.
A waiting room makes us feel time very slow while we are there. Yet when we think back of when we were in the waiting room, it seems to be fast with almost no memories of it If your life feels like your now moves slow while when you think back time also seems to be going really fast, then maybe you live a waiting room life. Bring new things into your life. Try new things out. Dont stay in the waiting room, waiting for good times to come at you. Yet be prepared, as good times and bad times come at you with same amount as your speed of approaching them.
I think I stopped time mentally or it was my fast reflexes can anybody explain here During P.E. class my class was playing basketball with another class a kid shot the ball coming towards me but I felt that time slowed down and I was fast enough to block the ball hitting my face but it felt like it was slow motion or something can anybody explain this or is just that I have fast reflexes
its very ironic that if u have fun and do memorable things u do have a vivid memory of them and hence making time stretch but at the same time , the good moments u have tend to pass faster since u are enjoying that time , so that moment will pass fast in ur present mind but for the future it will leave a mark for long time , its both
I remember taking a math test in 4. Grade. And it that moment it felt like time was moving way faster. Everyone moves faster and talked faster, even me. Music and videos everything goes faster I’m not sure what this feeling is but it is interesting and kinda fun when it happens
To slow time down, count every second of every minute and wish that time would speed up as you watch the clock, thinking back to when you couldn't wait for a certain day to arrive or the last minute of work to end. To speed it up, ignore anticipating the clock completely.
You can slow down time actually. I can do it. Pretty neat ability. I have been looking for insight in it i dint wanna delve to deep with little knowledge
Sometimes I do a lot of work and look at the clock and see only around 15 mins has passed. I don't have control over this strange almost paranormal phenomenon. It just happens out of nowhere. It also happens during times when I need to get a job done fast but I am sleepy. I give in to temptation to get some sleep but after sleeping for a while and waking up reasonably refreshed; I look at the clock and my jaw drops because only around 10-15 mins had passed.
This is great information and all, but I'm looking more along the lines of stopping time overall. You know? Freezing everything or slowing it down to the point where it basically looks frozen? Got anything on that?
DUDE I HAVE THE AWNSER! ALL YOU DO IS SIT ON YOUR BED OR THE GROUND AND STARE AT THE WALL. IT MAY BE EXTREMELY BORING BUT, TINE WILL GO VERYYYY SLOW TRUST ME🤠🤠🤠🤠
Who else looked up how to control time because you want to feel something other than pain something that gives you something to look forward to or wanting to feel special since you are usually the irrelevant one in the group the one that’s left out.
I'm watching this during online class, but when i actually like the class, time seems to go so quickly but when it's something i hate, the time goes SO DAMN SLOW,all my classes are 40 minutes and combined it a lot of hours, plus I'd rather not see anyone in my class
Time seemed to slow down for me too when me and my little brother were outside we were breaking up a tv stand and a computer desk with hammers and when he hit the desk the hammer flew out of his hand straight towards my face and it felt like it was coming at me in slow motion and i was able to dodge it
I looked this up cause I've noticed that there are times when a song's tempo I'm currently hearing seemed slower than what I remember like that time when I just got out of bed, or just before I go to bed
PLEASE READ THIS IF THIS HAPPENED TO YOU TOO BRuh this lockdown has made me mad. I dont remember what happened during the day and at night, then only I snap back to really and I think that why my day went to fast. I only remember waking up and going back to sleep. I want my day to go slower,I want to live my day even if my bored. No joke after these 2 years I forgot the value of time and just took time for granted.
From my point of view it means the more be and get excited by beauties of live the more energy we use and faster be our metabolism so we feel more alive thus we precept it as we live longer.
I’ve slowed down time myself about a couple months ago me and my brother got into a little argument in the morning and I pissed him off and he went to punch me (right hook) and time slowed down and it was weird and I blocked his punch and put him to the ground what makes this weird to me is that he’s 5 years older than me and weighs like 3 times as much as I do and I weigh like 120 I’m kinda shook
For me the last 5 years felt like 2 days, this is because I think of lockdown I've been doing things the same every day for months and I did not have any memorable memories
Once when I was a child playing football with my mates, I was running deep to catch a hail mary pass. As I turned to catch it, time slowed and I watched the football turning, and people running, slowly, for several seconds before it landed in the cradle of my arms.
I can't believe this video popped up right after I left a comment on another video. I've stopped time before but I can't remember exactly how I did it, it was like my brain took off with out me It's hard to explain but it can be done you've got to have a ability to do this but I'll keep to myself so I'll know if someone is lying when I ask them to leave a comment if this has happen to them. Well has it. I know when it happen to me I was seeing everything in slow motion it didn't effect me but everything around me almost stopped. Thank you and NO I'm not crazy
you can slow down time if you travel to exotic interesting places, and see new things every minute. that will make you feel like a child and every moment will be interesting and the day will feel longer. it's when you live a routine life where everyday is the same that time goes faster.
I used to feel like things were slowed down when I was younger and I hated it when people said things they sounded so slow and even quick things were slow
I've done all i could, i think i lost my power to do so, i have improved a lot, i have many talents now too, still, whenever i learn something new.. time flys by
This is kinda like *The World* . You can stop time, listen to your favorite song artist ( DIO ), or just throw knives at a Japanese high school teen or prank a French man by moving him down stairs every time he went up. Or like getting shot by a shotgun and picking up the bullets. Or, what I would do, Smash a road roller at a minor and continuously punch it, destroying the ground. There are many things to do with this interesting and fascinating power. :pog:
thx so much, i have to wait a month before i can adopt a doggo that i rlly like, cus she got thrown out of the back of a car and broke her leg so she is healing now thx
Yes time is a wave, I've been into the far future, while being in sequential time. It's strange having a body that is both ,owing inside time and outside of it. Duel minded time is amazing, but my powers are way stronger then just that. I make the realitys and have tons of controll over light.
when i was young like 10-15 somewhat this age. i faced some abnormal time .like i was in a fast motion ,high sound from surrounding. it sacred the hell outta me and didn't told the parents. years later this problem was gone . when my brother was almost the same age he experienced it too and he told me, then i was like wtf.
One point I would like to add is that we are being programmed to feel like time is going by fast. We must think "an hour is an hour, it MUST be long enough". But no, people will just complain and complain all the time😠. Right now a day has 24 hours and people say "If it had 48 hours it would be enough!". And if somehow a day DID start having 48 hours people will immediately say "iT Is sTiLl tOo sHoRT!" like wtf?! How many hours, then, must a day have for it to feel LOONNNGGG???!!! There's never enough money, never enough time, never enough oil, never enough ANYTHING!!! Even if we do have enough and more, people ALWAYS complain! Like, yeah who wouldn't want to have more time but if there's no way to get it then we get what we get and don't throw a fit! If a day only had 12 hours in it, we would WISH that it had 24 hours in it, see what I mean? I've had this mentality and honestly, it makes it seem to me like time goes by slower even if I'm really busy but that's just my opinion and advice so...
I felt time slow down before I was in class sitting in a chair and table pretty high up and I kicked it back too far and I fell and it felt like time slowed down it felt like a couple seconds when in reality it was probably half a second
How is the video 3 minutes this is totally true because you were recording this video like 10 mins but I think everyone has what it takes to slow down time wth YOUR A GENIUS 3 MINS OMG
The weird thing is... I can make time go slower another way. I’m still figuring it out but here’s an example, In 5th grade my class was playing dodgeball at one point a boy threw a ball at me. Every thing froze it felt like I was the only one moving the ball in front of me seemed to slow down.i got out of the way and the speed was back to normal. So i found a way to put myself in that state of mind. I can’t do it all the time though. But the way you do it is whatever is going on around you for focus on something slow, like your breathing. The more rapid things are moving(like in any sports game) everything will slow down. But I found out that in things like at state of panic your brain slows thing down in order for you do something
Alex Nick well it doesn’t really matter when the adrenaline is pumping and you focus on something it all comes together. Slow object or not. As long as you relax.
Please tell me why is this so.. This is my longest week ever and its only wednesday! I mean monday feel like its was like month ago or longer.. I havent sleep that much tho about 4-7hours per night because its have been stressfull days, but thats usual to me nothing too serious.. new job which started good and other stuff to keep me going not get bored at all.. So this means the time should go much faster aight? Also i feel more awake than normal sleeping more less than often about 1 week now.. Am i going insane? Like these last 3 days just have been keep going for so long.. Or atleast that how i feel like..
I've driven for a career for fifteen years and have gotten to where I can control the flow of time but it only happens during a time of higher levels of adrenaline instead of just sitting there and seeing it feel like it's forever I can control my a tions during and have had people not be able to figure out how I did things after it's over and we didn't have a accident like this one time I was driving 140 in a personal vehicle and there was a female with me and I went around another vehicle with on coming traffic and it happened so fast she said it felt like I had melted our vehicle around the other instead of just going around
can anybody explain to me, that whenever i run/sprint in the morning, and when i feel my heart pumping or me tired, why does the music i listen to while running seem slower a little bit than usual but i perceive things normally as they are?
I can control time in my mind by just deeply thinking about how sounds and sights would be like at either slow or fast and the n I concentrate it may take a while but then ta da no really true
