Been a fan since day one, but got myself a Nothing Phone (2). Which is awesome. Please make a segment for the 2(a), marked like 2(i) --> as in a segment for mini/compact phones for 6 inches and under. With comparable punching power for mid-range phones, priced slightly below 2(a). So numbers (1,2,3) --> Flagship (a) --> midrange (i) --> midrange compact Thank you and keep evolving Nothing to Everything.
Here is the summary of what people want from an upcoming Nothing phone: - Compactness (high demand) - IP rating which is better than IP56 - Sufficient amount of glyph lights - Wireless charging (Also reverse) - Metal frames - Decent camera and processor with affordable price tag. - 3.5 mm headphone jack input
Nothing 1 , suggestions to Devs 1. Double tap to wake screen ( in stead of single tap to wake screen ) 2. Double tap to off the screen from lock screen ( not available yet ) 3. Single swipe to access brightness slider ( instead of two swipes ) 4. Adding auto brightness module on brightness slider itself ( in stead of hiding it deep inside SETTINGs )
@@CrisCheese_ and why do you even leave a comment like this? 90% of all the phones out there are that huge, you don't have enough options to choose from? You have hundreds of options for huge phones... Meanwhile, those who want a smaller 6 inch size phone, have almost none...
Usually I don’t subscribe to RU-vid channels but I subscribed to “Nothing” it’s very impressive how they communicate with community and how they respect to community
In India most important is camera (selfie mainly ) and processor. Because many people not showing only design. They use camera and processor for better gaming.
1. A usable nothing-recovery to push/pull full snapshots like TWRP. 2. Giving back Nothing OS the usability features, that got lost since 2.0 was introduced (extra-dim and nightlight working on lockscreen, transparent clock widget, ... ) 3. Just regular updates. At least keep the pace as lineage still does with the Oneplus One with monthly security patches 😅
The transparent design has an immense potential of attractive designs. Please make transparent phones in such ways that we can see the processors and other parts which look cool and compliment the design.
Nearly 6 inch screen ... A mid spec processor like snap 870 or 888 An earphone jack A good new feature can be an actual good inbuilt dack ..... Audiophiles will give you a french kiss for that ..... An actual good dack system is the rarest thing in mobile phones
Nothing 3 with 6.2 flat display, without cam island, gen 3 proc, flagship cameras, would be very nice. Waitin' for your next products, i love your team & community, greetings from Hungary :)
I have the perfect phone design but unfortunately, I missed the first phase. Dear Nothing, if you want a million-dollar idea that is innovative and a game changer, please make this phone design competition again next year.
Tbh nothing 2a feels very dud in comparison to nothing 2. As the user of both phones i can say mediatek has done the 2a very bad. Even if they could squeeze in a 8 Gen 1 i wouldn't complain but it is what it is stuttery experience with frequent long app loading time now it kinda feels nothing OS is opposite of a light weight OS on 2a. My suggestion is to wait for Phone 3 launch in September or October this year. If ur in a hurry better pick a pixel or Samsung phone.
Revolution?? Do you guys really think nothing brings innovation??? Seriously. Having couple of led backlight does not mean innovation..its gimick like 2mp camera
A nothing laptop and a nothing tablet sound promising. Most people are not welling to switch their phone brands but will be welling to try out a new company for a tablet or a laptop to see what the company has to offer. I think this might attract a lot of attention towards nothing company as a whole.
Yes I agree but also I'm willing to try a nothing phone, but I agree a nothing laptop would be amazing. I would love to see a nothing record player or Bluetooth speaker.
A repairable laptop. I know there are a few options out there (Framework, some ThinkPads), but a company like Nothing could really be a game changer in the segment due to their personality and uniqueness. Every time a new Nothing anything comes out (no pun intended), it's an event. Can't say that about the Framework laptop (no offense, Linus).
My recommendation for phone 1. Battery - 5000 mah(standard average) 2. Charging - 45W good enough.anything higher may ruin battery. Anything lower may impact user experience 3. Camera - current setup on phone 2a is good but would need Sony sensors both wide, ultra wide. Anything samsung other than display is no go. Processing speed of your photos is too slow, will need to optimize here. Need to come up with better and efficient image processing for better quality photos. Need a well trained AI model for the same 4. Display - Amoled 120Hz is good enough. But will need Ltpo.thinner bezels on all sides. The bezels look much thicker when you have the phone. I know that is because you are trying to have symmetry. But try to reduce the bezels all round. 6.4 inch screen is the optimum size. 5. Processor - TSMC processors are much better than samsung foundry anyday. Again should be power to battery consumption should be high. Snapdragon, has the efficiency cores which improve battery life by 5-10% depending on processor. No recommendation on this, as I am not that aware of optimization. I think mid range processors are good enough for day to day use 6. Back - transparent back is your identity, I would like to see a different Glyph design(maybe around the edges of the phone). I am just imagining. But don't know how good it will be in person. Also if we can use AI to have a tiny screen on the back which summarises all the important notifications. Maybe something with your dot font would look awesome 7. Os - no complaints. Just make it peppy and fun to use when used. Just should be fast 8. Ram - Lpddr5x is required. 8gb is good enough 9. Storage - ufs 3 or 4 is minimum. 256 gb is necessary
65w charging with charger in the box, 2K amoled screen, 3x optical with better digital zoom, IP68, matt gorilla glass armour or victus and 3 glyphs on the back same as the 2a model.
Compact phone with above average camera, a good processor with a focus on the audio and visual output, so, top of the line screen that has dolby vision paired with snapdragon sound which has 24-bit/192kHz Hi-res audio.
There are sum bug in nothing phone 2a. when we are using RU-vid app and scroll down for notifications there not working properly. So please fix this in next update.
Enhanced icons utilizing AI to complement missing ones, along with the option to customize designs where specific icons are unavailable, like the functionality found in the Niagara Launcher.
just missed the deadline for 2hrs bc i didn't double check the date... i was super excited for the phase 1 and it kinda feels like a breakup w your crush cuz i really like nothing design language and i love making my designs come true. it was my first big opportunity and i lost it and it is my fault. hope you guys repeat this kind of contests.
5,5 inch phone, side fingerprint, no camera notch/dot, great camera, amazing speakers with bass, big battery, transparent deep purple/ transparent black (NO washed out grey color like on nothing 2).
I am interested in below specs 6.1" display - LTPO 144Hz with 1600 ~ 2000 nits With kind of size of 147 x 70 x 9mm to accommodate bigger battery of 4700~5000mAH. SD GEN 3 chipset with 256gb 512gb 12 to 16 gb If possible telephoto option. Dual LED flash. Dedicated camera button with double press, focus+click with LED IN The button Under display finger print or side mounted finger print integrated power button. This time glyph around the aluminium frame. With glass back Difference color option not just white and back. Lite blue dark matt green orange or any fancy colors
Carl, neckband pro is a really good earphones, the reason I needed neckband is while driving and wearing helmet, I need to accept calls, it is easily completed by neckband just, buttons need some more features not much just atleast Google assistant, to the bottom button as it will help a lot in multitasking
I´d love a midrange small device (6 inches) It could be high end but I feel there´s a huge oportunity in the midrange segment because all manufactures keep releasing huge phones and if you want a smaller phone you have to go high end.
A NOTHING neckband could also be made, as they are cheaper, offer longer battery life, they are more durable and not that easy to lose. The drivers and battery pods (with vol. + ANC controls) can be made transparent and slim and also add rubber ear hooks so it isn't uncomfy if u sleep with it. One Plus also makes neckbands
I don't even own Nothing Phone and I am already a fan. I decided to wait for the next Nothing Phone, either 3 or 2a community edition as it also might be very interesting, I definitely want to own one!
Electroluminiscent cuatomizable replaceable back covers would be awesome. Addition of routines/shortcuts equivalent automation would be another plus. A loud shout-out for repairability, especially display replacement.
Something like the samsung flip 5 using glyph interface on the outer side, maybe around the outer screen, therefore youll see notifcation lights etc on the front when its out. Rather than the back of the phones like now
After the Nothing Phone 2a was released, seeing the design made me even more convinced that I wanted to own it, I think the Nothing Phone 2a is becoming itself. If Nothing Phone had a mini version it would also be very interesting. regards from indonesia.
Felt so happy reading comments in the support of smaller phones, i thought I'm the only one missing them in the mid range segment specially. Dear NOTHING please do something with these comments 😊
i just bought nothing 2a last 2 days before and yah it's working really amazing , note:- i think carl have already readed lot's of review but i just wanna say you guys can improve the packaging ,otherwise everything is good i like that ,,
I am so excited for the future of this company, the vision, the idea and everything sits right. Nothing is going to take over apple definitely!!! So hyped
50 inch phone, 20 570x490 pixel front facing CCD sensors in the front with multiple notches merging into one thiicc bezel, one rear facing 100x100 fairchild CCD based camera, bottom facing fingerprint reader, 5inch B/W CRT display, Zilog Z80 CPU, Earthquake Subwoofers for speakers, 16 NiCad D cell batteries, trolley pantograph charger, eye searing hot pink colorway with 1980s simulated wood veneer accents, glyph interface powered by edison bulbs.
A phone with 6.5 inch display is sufficient with a powerful processor priced at 30-35k will be a killer in the segment.Additionally with synchronised glyph light
With price in mind, i would say a 6.2 inch amoled/Poled screen with up to 1200 nits brightness, snapdragon 7+ gen 2 processor, one storage and ram option of 12 GIG LPDDR5 256 GB, Stereo speakers, 4500 MAH battery with 45 watt fast charging, battery rated at 1600 charging cycles while retaining 80% integrity, i actually like the 3 glyph system so we must retain it, probably a dual 48 megapixel wide angle and ultra wide Samsung ISOCELL HM3, universal LTE and 5G bands including US market, and two colors,...white and charcoal black.
Summary: 1. Metallic frame (no titanium please) 2.charger with the box. 3.cam with good camera app. 4.good processor in range of 8 +gen2 5.wireless nd reverse charger 6.headphones jack 7.IP 68K resistance.
I just need a charging brick with it. Coz this is a budget segment in India and a charger separately costs 10% of the phone's cost. So just adding a charging adaptor will bring more sales.
Under 6.5" Flat Display with minimal bezels 5000 mah 7+ gen series or above processor ( Snapdragon only) Telephoto lens along with main camera able to take wide shots. Bringing Telephoto lens under 40k..will be very demanding as there are only few phones and has bad image processing.
Why don’t you make a 3d interactive phone designing web app on Nothing’s website where people can design, add notes and add specifications by themselves. It’d be fun like a contest.
I really love the idea tho, I haven't seen any of the tech giants which make phones which cost almost 1200 usd (you know them lol) come up with something like this even though they clearly have far more recourses to take the bet on. It's like they've just settled with something and launch new versions of the same phone every year with very minute changes and increase the price. I love the initiative Nothing.
I really unterstand that you want to keep the glyph interface white but I think one LED that can do different colors woul be great so you can see which app does the notification. Nothing big it still has to keep compact and it should be easy to turn that off
I saw so many commenting about small phone, if they can develop small phone with long lasting battery and fast charging , then it is a good idea, having flagship soc will help with 🔋 🔋 battery management
Not sure if this will reach anyone at NOTHING, but here are my 2 cents on what could make me move from Apple to NOTHING: - Smaller form factor - up to 6.4 inches. - A battery which lasts all day. - Guaranteed OS updates for 3 to 4 years. - A real telephoto lens and not digital crop. - Of course, Carl Pei. NOTHING can continue releasing their premium space phones as 1,2,3, etc. The (a) models can be a true blue smaller phone - the market Google has been trying to dominate but has been unable to due to the lack of sync between Hardware and OS. Looking forward to your next one.
Sorry, small nothing phone is not coming nothing ceo said on a tweet that they could make a small phone but demand for small phone is very low as they saw
When purchasing the box package, there is no charging head or protective casing. Do you want to recycle the paper box that was torn first, Consumers are observing the development of many smartphone brands following in the footsteps of iPhones without protective cases and charging heads. Have you thought about how much the box wrapping paper costs?Recycle ?
I've been using the nothing phone 2 for a long time and I have to say that I'm in love with it, the design is beautiful, the custom widgets are very nice and the phone is practically perfect for gaming. I'm really happy I bought it and if the 3rd ever comes out I will buy it immediately.
He said you can "design" not make from scratch. Means you have to take same phone and change it's appearance so that it's the same phone with different look. That's what we would call a community edition may be.
I don’t think smaller phones have enough demand but if you’re open to not making a profit that’s fine. Just to be clear, I’m not totally sure with what I’m about to say, but it’s a consideration I’m torn on and I don’t think anyone else is going to mention it. A sleek, IR blaster and software that creates an immersive remote experience, with the volume and power buttons being used to control the TV, finding some design language that that integrates with the phone. I don’t feel like perfect implementation is even possible, and I have doubts about its integration both with the hardware and software design, but if it was possible to do, it would be amazing. Having the ability to use the camera to add new IR codes for RGB lighting and stuff would also be sick but I don’t know the limits of if the camera can get a high enough frame rate to get enough data.
