Gosh I hope to meet you one day before I leave this world to be with the Lord. You are a very wonderful person and teacher. I’m so blessed to have found you on Utube.
I’ve seen bikers sewing patches on leather vests and jackets. We repaired some w extension hanging on one hinge and they just keep going. Incredible little powerhouse. Take good care of your baby. I thought about having one painted when I went to Road to California quilt show. Never did it. Went to that show and Sisters every year for over 12 years. Wish could walk them, love the big shows.
Hey Donna! I hope you’re having a good week so far. Just finished quilting The patriotic quilt, can’t wait to show you guys I think it’s gorgeous. As always thank you for watching my videos, I really appreciate it😊❣️
I really like the panel and fabrics and plans to add log cabin blocks and flying geese. Also the baby quilt that your daughter made is so cute with the special touches that the mother likes. AND I love the patriotic quilt! I am saving it to make "someday." Thanks for sharing.
I watched a lady sew 2 parallel lines under 1/2" apart on that spare piece to make tiny squares for tiny 4-patches!! Isn't that a great idea? Your friend from heaven would be so happy with you! :) Thanks for showing how to make this patriotic quilt cuz I've been looking for a pattern too. It turned out beautiful.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣 I’m dying over my friend in heaven being happy, that’s hilarious. True confession. I threw out most of the snowball corners from the quilt I’m making for Fridays video. 🤪🥴 I hope you do make this pattern, I love mine. Thank you for watching my videos😊❤️
@@sisterchicksquilting when I lost my sister in 2003 it occurred to me how much our language is peppered with words about death and dying. I had to sometimes correct myself when "dying for a coffee", or some event "would be the death of me" if I had to attend. Etcetera. I now chat with my sister as I use her sewing machine and she lives on through my sewing room projects. Best wishes from the Harris home in Geraldton Western Australia 🇦🇺
The Singer featherweight and the old 201s are the strongest machines they ever made besides the treadle.sold Viking and Singers over 23 years. The Feathweight and the Singer 201s are the most durable , heavy duty models they ever made beside the treadle. I have featherweights and my mothers 201 that I learned to sew on. I treasure all 3 of them.
Hey Di, it’s because of these different machines and serger I have I purchased a used (large) sewing machine cabinet, my hubby did a little “engineering” and made the hole large enough to fit all my different machines. Game changer. The used cabinet came from a resale shop $25. ❤
Your stars & flag quilt is very cute. Being Canadian it’s not something I’d do, but regardless it’s a very nice quilt. Your panel is also very nice, look forward for to seeing the end results. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
I've been thinking about all my Canadian friends, the Maple Leaf and how I could come up with a quilt for all of you. I need to do more shopping for the panel, it will be about 2 months out. Thanks Carmen :) I appreciate you watching and your comments.
I’ve never heard the term, “attic window quilt” before. I looked it up and yes, though it’s not a scene, it does make a pleasing view. Thanks for watching my videos Theresa, I appreciate it 😊❣️
I love your red, white, and blue quilt! You should buy a Lori Holt seam sew easy. It extends the bed on your featherweight and it looks tike a plastic flower. It has the quarter inch lines marked on the plastic. I too break out my Featherweight when my main machine is getting a tune up. Your daughters first quilt turned out great!
Featherweights are great aren’t they? I have one of the seam so easy flowers but that 3 1/2 inch block is just a little too big for it, darn it😂. Thank you for watching my videos I really appreciate it. Have a great week😊
Hello! Such a lovely quilt block! I just got my first chance to sit down and watch as I was out and about today. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! Thank you for sharing this video and your talent.
I’ve been having the same dilemma, I want to make a patriotic quilt, but can’t decide on which one. This one is beautiful too! New subbie, m going to have to check out your other vids too! Happy 4th! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for subbing Donna. Did you see I appreciate you watching my videos ❣️ If you’re on Instagram tag me with your finished quilt, I’d love to see it. Happy Fourth of July too 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙🇺🇸❣️
That has got to be one of the prettiest panels I've seen! Love the wall hanging! I'm a sucker for anything to do with reds ,whites, and blues! It looks great! Looking forward to next week's video. Thanks for sharing.
Love your patriotic quilt. Anxious to see it finished and the fabrics are beautiful. Your daughter made an adorable baby shower quilt. Love your panel with so many beautiful fall colors. I love your idea of having log cabin blocks surrounding the panel then my creative juices stop there. Will be looking forward to seeing what else you do with it.
Your pAnel is beautiful. Your vision sounds spot on. I think maybe a light boarder first then cabin blocks. What about a piano key board boarder. Your vison is probably better than mine
Jeanette, you are the second one who suggested a piano keyboard are. It’s on my list and I’m going to move everything over, I really really like the idea😊❣️
I definitely will share the finish project Lisa however it may be several months. Stick with me and thank you for watching my videos, I really appreciate it🥰
I love the baby quilt! Your daughter did a fantastic job for it being her first quilt! I really like this Patriotic quilt pattern. I need to use up some Patriotic fabric so this one might be the winner. Thank you for sharing the pattern!
Thanks Traci, I’m hoping she gets the bug to do some more quilts. He would love to see your patriotic quilt when you get it done are you on Instagram? If so tag me. Thanks for watching my videos, I appreciate it😊❣️
I love the log cabin idea, however, I would make them based off the area of the panel. Like at the top of the panel it looks like grays, taupe browns, and teal that is what I would use for the top and 1/3 down. Then do log cabins in where the brown ruddy trees start and use those colors until you get to the bottom corner and use the yellow, browns in log cabins. I hope I am making sense.
Your comment totally makes sense to me. As I read it I was imagining it. Sounds super detailed, I don’t know if I have it in me to do it that way, but right now I’m really tired and can only think of sleep. 😴 Thank you for watching my videos😊❣️
Pretty panel.... love the log cabin idea. How about a small gold border beside the panel? And I would probably do log cabins with 1.5- 2" strips. Not sure on the flying geese, but it may need something to make it wider my biggest struggle with panels is their dimensions....
I hear you in the panel, The dimensions are difficult to work with. The log cabin strip size is a good one. I’ll audition Gold when I pick up the rest of the fabric for the panel, thank 😊 Thanks for watching 😍❣️
I'm not sure which panel quilt you're talking about so I'm including links to the panel videos I've published. Each one is a different panel. The only patriotic panel is the second video. Please enjoy them and thanks for watching my channel. Beautiful patriotic wall quilt!! I so look forward to your videos every Friday evening :) Looking forward to your scrappy surprise next week & I have 100% confidence it'll come off without a hitch :)
Thanks Tiffany I can’t wait to get it Quilted and hanging. So we hang out together each Friday night🤪, l love it ❣️ Oh, I have 16 blocks of the Scrappy surprise Done and I’m loving it. 😍 can’t to show you.
Just how I’m going to Quilt it is what is going through my mind right now Chrissy. I’ll be sure to show it in another video. Thank you so much for watching my videos I appreciate it❣️
Thank you for sharing the free pattern. The baby quilt is cute especially the little pink bow. Did your daughter use minky on the back. I like your ideas for the panel. The log cabin block, the flying geese, and the colors of the fabrics. To me it’s like telling a story, the log cabin, the flying geese migrating. Can’t wait to see the finished quilt. Have a great weekend, looking forward to next week’s surprise guest.
Hi Abeullah😍, you’re welcome and yes, she put pink Cuddle on the back. I like your ideas for the panel, I’m writing everyone’s down so I have them together when I make the quilt. You have a great week too❣️ see you next week.
The panel is beautiful! I'm not normally real big on panel quilts either. They are only attractive (to me) when well integrated into the framing patchwork. So, no border separating panel from frame. Love, love, love the log cabin and flying geese idea. Consider an asymmetrical layout! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Enjoying your channel!
Janet thanks for the suggestions, I’m writing everything down and will consider all. I’m glad you’re enjoying my channel I appreciate you watching it❣️
I also think a small border around the panel, then the log cabin blocks. Have you thought about the flying geese only on the corners about a third of the way in on each side for the next border and then a finishing border around it all?
Hi Di! I think on the cabin panel I would put a small border around before the log cabin blocks to break up some of the colors. Can’t wait to see what you decide to do. Great tutorial on the star block for Stars on the Hudson. That’s a great pattern. Have a great week and try to take care of yourself too. 💕
Thanks for your feedback on my panel Jan. I’m glad you like the quilt. You must know me better than I think, because the engineer and my Bestie are always telling me to slow down and take care of myself🤪 🤣TFW❣️
Love the baby quilt and the panel is super. Your idea of log cabin sounds great. Guess the rest would depend on how large you want the quilt to be. What brand of thread are you using with the featherweight
Thanks Debbie, I’m just so proud of Michele‘s first quilt. It looks like there’s gonna be a lot of planning for that panel but it should be worth it it’s so beautiful. The thread I using my featherweight is 40 weight Aurifil. I use it for all of my piecing. Is there a special thread that we should be using in our featherweights? Tell me if you know. Thank you so much for watching my videos😊❣️
Excellent videos and I really enjoy your music and speed. I have watched many quilt makers videos and i cannot get through them. Not to be rude. Your videos go fast and they're not time wasters remember we would rather be sewing than listening. Other quilters just jibber jabber talk about things that really don't matter, quilters like getting to the point. Thank you very much and for the free pattern as well. .
Di your patriotic blocks are really nice. I can’t wait to see it finished. I just downloaded the pattern. The baby quilt your daughter made is really cute. I love the colors. Have a great weekend, and don’t work to hard!❤️
Thanks Norma I have it all put together and I’m gonna get a Quilted bound and hung up this week. I was so excited over the baby quilt being her first and everything, I think she did a great job! I’ll try not to work too hard and you have a great weekend too❣️
I think the Starry Log cabin is such a beautiful pattern. I’ll get mine quilted and bound by next weekend. Yay for patriotic quilts. 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️ Thanks for taking your time to watch my videos ❣️😊
The panel is gorgeous! I would do a small dark border to frame up the panel and then do the log cabin blocks around, another small dark border and then the geese? I don't know...but it sounds awesome and I love the fabrics!
Thanks Ellie, I can’t wait to get started on the panel quilt but it will be a couple of months at least. I love the fabrics too. Thank you so much for watching my videos, I appreciate it❣️
That is a beautiful Quilt of Valor quilt and loved all the fabrics you pit with that pretty panel! Your daughters quilt was very cute with the skully appliqué on it!
Any hints on how to figure out what size to make your log blocks to fit around a panel... Do you just make your blocks (say 6" finished) then add a sashing strip around the panel to 'fit' the blocks, or do you take the panel size and go from there? This process takes Math...blech.. :)
I actually have one and use it. Sometimes the angle I’m sewing is bigger than the the guide so I mark the piece. Thanks for watching my channel and commenting 😊‼️
I remember in home-ec our teacher told us to sew over the pins. So I was kind of surprised when years later when I bought a machine the instructor of the get to know your machine class flipped her lid on me for doing it. Lol The woman had no sense of humor either. Makes me laugh thinking about it.
Mine taught me the same thing. I don’t sew over them on my Juki but I do on my featherweight ?!?! I worry about messing up the timing on my Juki. I’m never going to be a quilt cop 👮♂️, life is too short, quilting too fun 😉. Thanks die watching my videos Kelly❣️
I don’t either I could of mess my Audio on my phone but I wasn’t getting any sound. But I all so cracked my screen really bad But did go in my settings. To try to make my phone louder.it’s probably my phone,
