Trust me. Most uses like vrchat, slimes will work better. There is missing info (such as slimes body proportions that have existed forever, and is infamous for the autobone dance). Plus, slime is open source, cheaper for more tracking points, both the official slimes and the axis trackers use the same IMU (BNO085) so tracking quality is basically the same, and slime has a helpful community.

It is good to see that AXIS seems to finally become usable/good. I backed it in Kickstarter and early on they were almost unusable. So they've just been sitting there in a box for over a year now.

i wished meta would do full body trackers so that i DONT need to use wifi on third-party body trackers. AND i wished htc (steam) would create a newer version of XR elite that actually HAS body trackers with eye and face tracking !!!!!! i mean i like the XR elite and all BUT the only problem i have with it is the head strap i wished it was like the quest 2 default head strap for laying down comfort

In early 2000s phones and other portable devices didn't have (or not all devices had easy) active internet access. Therefore a wifi dongle (yes that's the name and it's a size of a large usb stick) was like a portable modem to access the internet. It's an old-ish term in a sense. Don't know who came with that name originally though.

For something going on your body that could easily fall out or hit a wall you wouldn't want to use your primary/tracking phone anyway. As you said it only needs Android 8 so you could probably get an old device from a friend/family member (or even a marketplace) for free that would work.

I am kinda split on those in comparisson to SlimeVR, cause SlimeVR 5+3 is actual 8 point tracking for below 300$... From time to time I look into the DIY section and wonder, why more individuals do custom PCBs easing the DIY factor but limited by small batch pricing, while original SlimeVR doesn´t even try to go for medium/big batch custom PCBs (besides offering assembled BNO-units) at that point... Would lower the entrance price even more I think...

Not more than 2 hours and it starts to hurt your face? I guess you should look for 3rd party solutions if your headset is Quest. It makes your headset more comfy. Mine is improved and i can use it for 6+ hours without pain. This is interesting due vibration feature, but problem is indeed battery life. 4 hours is too short for most people. Yikes. And it's closed system, so we cannot modify much about it, compared with SlimeVR which can still upgraded and the community is much bigger, so a lot help and solutions are there. And not cheap system to be fair.

Just so you know, your discount code doesn't give an *additional* 20% off to the early bird discount, it just replaces the discount, so the code is useless till the early bird special ends in April.

I’m really curious about the Axis Lite. I tried a ton of the cheap at home dyi alternatives before making the jump to make SlimeVR trackers only two months after getting my first headset with literally zero soldering experience. They worked mostly. But there is a way to get Axis Lite to work with SlimeVR’s app and that gets rid of the problems some people were having apparently. I’m really debating on ordering a set. I’m just wondering will I be able to easily use my three Vive trackers with it. In theory it should work.

How does it tracks? Imus or cameras? SlimeVR use body measurements too but there's still drift -and always will be with IMUs-. Did you feel drift over time?

They're mainly imus, but because these specifically use ur phone to track as well, its sort of like a camera/imu merge in a sense. The tracking does drift but it surprisingly fixes itself. Ive seen others try this out as well, even doing jumping jacks and while it was drifting at first the feet legit slid back into place. Hope this helps!

yeah software isn't the best but the worst part about theses trackers is the price... slimevr can give you twice the amount of trackers for about the same price + better battery

What's wrong with the word "dongle"? :P Sounds like if someone wants to play consistently they'll need like 8 of these and only use 4 at a time while charging the other 4 to be swapped in later... "Don't stream more than 3 hours usually"... -looks at the password game stream- XD And I'm always down for more Mari and PM-chan tutorials!!

slimevr can do much better for cheaper : better battery life, more trackers for the same price, and slightly better software... axis is good for anyone who doesn't know all that much about full body tracking but for the rest of the peoples, it's just awful. the only real good thing about axis are the feedback motors but yeah the tracking quality is much better with slimes. the only reason why people are buying theses trackers is because they don't know that there is much better than this.

I appreciate you trying to be helpful, but my video is about the easiest full body set up, which is what a lot of casual VR players are looking for. Not all of us are hardcore VRChat players who are interested in what you're talking about. people buy other trackers because nobody is able to get slimeVR. Last I heard it's been months since anyone got their slime trackers, which makes you wonder. What's the point in buying Slime if you never receive them in the mail? Slime looks like a cool product and I would love to try it one day, but looking down at every other option out there just because you think it's "the best" isn't exactly helpful for everyone who's a casual player. Thank you for the feedback, maybe one day when i can actually get some slime trackers I can test them out and form my own opinion on what I think is the best.

@@MariYumeChThank you for your response. Sure, Axis is easy to get and set up, but who would pay double the price for that and half of the battery life? I don't personally think it is worth it at all. What is the point of buying something if you can get two times better with another option? Slimes aren't actually hard to get : trusted sellers are making and selling DIY SlimeVR, and SlimeVR is getting better and better over time with the production of their products. Looking down at every other option because "it isn't the easiest at the moment" is, for me, not really helpful for the VR community as a whole. I am here just talking about a better and much cheaper option because I just don't want people to waste their money on trackers that are so expensive for pretty bad tracking quality. Of course, I don't blame you for making this video; after all, Axis is a great alternative for those who don't care about the price and just want an easy solution without spending more than 800 dollars. But I just wish that more people would be aware of the other options.

V-tubers, with their animated avatars and often exaggerated personas, epitomize everything I find shallow and insincere about online content creation. The concept of hiding behind a virtual avatar to interact with an audience strikes me as disingenuous, lacking the authenticity and genuine connection that I value in human interaction. Moreover, the rise of V-tubers has contributed to the commodification of personality and entertainment, reducing content creation to a mere spectacle for profit rather than a platform for meaningful expression and dialogue. The hyperbolic reactions and exaggerated expressions common among V-tubers only serve to further alienate me from their content, as I prefer genuine and unfiltered interactions with real individuals. The overwhelming popularity of V-tubers in recent years has overshadowed more deserving creators and perpetuated a culture of superficiality and self-indulgence. I find myself unable to engage with V-tuber content on any meaningful level, as it lacks the depth and substance that I seek in entertainment. It is my sincere hope that society will eventually move past its fascination with V-tubers and rediscover the value of authenticity and sincerity in content creation.

While I don't consume vtuber content I'd still argue the same can apply to face-cam youtubers & all social media platforms in general. For example I wouldn't be surprised if Pewdiepie played up how scared he was for the camera as well as his general reactions in order to provide intertainment similarly to other highly popular youtubers. Similarly people on Insta & tiktok will film their "perfect life" only showing arficial good sides to their viewers often while omitting the bad. I do agree that it's unfortune the algorithm in these platforms doesn't favor neutral frank creators who enjoy transparency but at the same time it's fair for people to play up a character & not put their true self out there if it's out of their comfort zone. Every one has a niche they enjoy both as consumers and creators so it's good those vtubers took the jump to create content. I also wouldn't be surprised if among them you'd also find some honest vtubers with the qualities you're seeking but that may also not be as easily found as the rest of the normal content creators for similar reasons (maybe not as many people seeking out such content or yt not placing it in front of as many people).
