Many of you asked how can you support me. Like share and sub to help me grow. and if you want you can support me on: www.buymeacoffee.com/AeginaCraft thanks everyone for the kind words!
Thanks for this insight. I have many people who tell me i should sell my stuff. Mostly i just give it away. Things that keep me from making that leap: my stuff is never perfect... Its excellent, but i spend way more time to get it there than the market will support. I rarely ever make the same thing twice....unless its a batch of one thing. Then i cant stand to make another batch. I get so focused on problem solving and production that i forget to video. Ive sold stuff, but only enough to pay for part of the expenses. Mostly i havent made a profit or enough to pay for my time. So i make what i can and justify my creativity by giving it as gifts.
Yes I have also made small stuff like keychains n given them to loved ones. But I think even they can help by showing people through word of mouth.. it would help us.
About marketing, another way when first starting is donating a piece to a local charity auction. Only one person will get that piece, but will be viewed by many. -- Figuring cost, depending on where you live you may need a business license, tax consultant, insurance and such. For Americans people often don't know that if you are self employed your Social Security is 12.4%, not the 6.2% if employed by someone else. Also depending on where you live and what you make you may need to set up legal protection for liability. In the states if you set up as an LLC, if someone sues you, your personal accents are protected. Also if what you make might be used by children (like stuffed animals) you need to check with your country's laws. -- Another hidden cost is the replacement of tools/equipment. Things like molds, brushes and some power tools will wear out and the replacement costs need to be figured in.
Thanks crafty friend! I built my own cake shop and tea room 10+ years ago, its incredibly hard work and long hours, not easy like people think! You have to have a love and a passion to want to make a go of it! Passion for whatever your business is, may not make you millions but it will make your days very interesting!!!!
I ran it single handedly for 5 years, then i fell pregnant. While having no staff had kept my costs down, it ultimately was the end of my business as I couldn't' trust anyone to do "my work" for "my customers". My bad. lessons learned!!!! lol. Single mom now, with a 5 year old, it's time to get some of my creative life back and make money through my art once more!!!!
Oh come now staying single not always the answer, but being passionate and being able to grind the hours might help! As always thank you for being here and thanks for all of your support! Im so happy that we like minded people come together! Much love! Xx B
it is no surprise that your viewership has gone up and I'm glad you continue to post! This is all valuable information and you make some very good points about marketing yourself and giving your customers perceived value (ie detailed invoices, extra product, check-ins, etc.). I've found that this level of customer service exceeds most others and it is how I built my automotive repair business (that I left during covid). Anyways, great video as always!
Speaking about mktg n I diike this topic. I know it helps but I lack that confidence be it in myself or my product. I feel there are way more people who do better stuff than me ...and I am nothing compared to them. This thought needs to change first. 😢
First view and first comment 🥳 just want to say your videos have been brilliant, especially the last one as there are a lot of people taking advantage of desperate people who are just looking to find ways to survive in this brutal world while doing something that actually gives them pleasure. This is the perfect video to follow up the last one, constructive advice, not trying to sell us a course, thank you.
Yes very true. There are so many u tubers and I wonder how they can make it in this field n ultimately one sees that they have their own store and announce a discount for products if bought from them. I understand they have to make a living but sometimes it gets to you. Not everyone shares their downfalls... it always the good things that are exhibited and hence people feel its very easy and by the time you have realised its already too late.
Hi there i just found your videos still dont know how but i think was meant to be i just started out with epoxy resin and wanting to start my own small personal buisnes ive got allot to learn still that i do know but circumstances threw me out there and just want to say thank you for this amazing video and intel going to save it to listen to again as so much i learned from it and wise advise tha k you so very much looking out for new videos
WOW look how many subscribers you have, that’s awesome for you. See what happens when you don’t bull shit and you speak the truth and are down to earth. You made some very valid points in this video as you did in the other one . At least we all have both to go back to and watch again if we’ve forgotten or misused an6 of it. I love sitting out the front in the morning with my cuppa but I miss a lot odd videos cos there’s a lot of yahoos on the road out front of my place, it’s like a race track for idiots with super noisy cars. I love my house but sometimes it gets so annoying. I’d trade places with you in a flash. I used to live on a farm and the only noise I had were my dogs and kids and the cows. Now, I’d give anything for peace and quiet and not a lot of people. I’d prefer animals any day over people. Animals aren’t evil like some humans. Anyway lol, thats my little rant over. Thanks for another great video and congratulations for reaching over 1,000 subscribers already, you do deserve this. You are my favourite RU-vidr right now. Enjoy your day.
I will never start a business from my hobby. That's the quickest way to hate your hobby. My hobbies are for getting away from the problems of the world.
Yeah sometimes we start a hobby to enjoy and be creative when you make something with love and when it's challenging. The result is the accomplishment.
