If water bugs are around and no exterminator is available, put salt down. Put salt in every corner, along the walls, near pipes and openings. No worries. Hope this helps.
@LisaLamb That's what I do too. I use Sea Salt in the corners all through my home, and it really does work. Bugs think the area is deprived of water and they crawl off someplace else.

I love all the homes I've seen in Tanzania. Love the beaches as well. Would love it even more if Tanzania would allow me to buy it! Unfortunately since foreigners can not buy, I'll have to expat to a different country in Africa. Thanks for showing for those looking for rentals.

That’s because the house is all you get, In America we pay for Good schools, street lights, public services, paved roads And a good shopping areas, There it’s just the house, and outside maybe dirt roads, stray animals etc.. Those houses would be cheap for African Americans but if they move to Africa and buy up those houses, the demand would cause the prices to go up. This would eventually make them unaffordable for Tanzanians. This would build resentment and you might not feel so welcome. If you want to help contribute to Africa, help build capacity, setup productive businesses(investing in housing doesn't create productive business), do something to bring in foreign exchange etc....
Do rain water harvesting and save on water bill. Take rain water of the roof and store in water tanks. Get a pump and the water can be uses for sewer, bathing and garden
People, the low rent prices are largely based on the exchange rate of the US. Keep that in mind since the US Dollar is gearing up for increased inflation over the next year and beyond.

If you are going there from the US u can get a visa on landing in TZ for $100. It usually is for a year, but as a visitor you can only stay for 3 months at once. If you have a passport from an island like Jamaica you wont need a visa as both countries have mutual non-visa access. Best wishes.

That same house with the landscaping, tile work, land, etc. would cost almost a million United States dollars in Los Angeles, California to buy. But it's in Tanzania in the middle of nowhere on a dirt road, so perhaps that's why it's so cheap to rent.
Roughly $400 for rent include utilities for another $100 water $50 a maid for $150 a month and food can vary. Technically you can live like king/queen in your own estate for a grand a month!

Nice house and great price. Plenty outdoor space and plenty of of green grass. Who does the landscaping? There are no appliances in the home which worries me because when I put them in and the landlord decides to jack up the price, then where do me and my stuff go? It’s not for violence at all but occasional thieves that can come at night while people sleep or during the day when no one is home. It ‘s really just precautionary measures. Most places in Africa have that to keep thieves/ burglars away. Senseless violence doesn’t exist in Africa.

I would rent that. I was looking it up and it said the state owns all the land in Tanzania. Even citizens don't own their own land, foreigners can only own land for investment purposes, not private ownership.
