@@nightstalkerck No He thinks $800 apartments are a good price. He’s young and has to learn. He’s back home now to save up money. Hopefully for a better apartment in a safe area.
What about making payments on a tiny home, he could build an addition onto later. Instead of throwing money away on rent? Or short term payments on an RV & piece of land he could park on. Not a cheap rip off RV but decent used one....I've some RVs that look small on the outside but with the slide outs open. Feel like a small efficiency apartment inside with lots of headroom. Making payments on an RV or tiny home/land would build credit. Plus you have a place to live. Plus you have something of valve to keep/live in, or resale 🆚 throwing money on rent. After 5 yrs of renting, you still own nothing.
My husband & I lived in something like that for about 3 years & it was bad… It was a descent size apt for the price but everything else sucked… the owners never took care of the property along with the buildings, our neighbors were very abusive to each other we had to call the cops almost every week. There were drug deals going on right above us, it was bad. I was so glad to be out of there when we finally moved.
Years ago in B-more I delivered pizza's at places that were really bad in a crime area...White boy at that!!...After my shift I would buy 10 pizza's and drop them off at the basket ball court, rec center, pool area, etc..Never got robbed and never carried money...Loved those days..it was 2005!..
My daughter, a first grade teacher, moved to Texas last summer for a new adventure and new job. Unfortunately it’s been a disaster!! She’s had her ID stolen, expensive air mattress from Amazon stolen, and last week her car was stolen!! It was a 2016 Toyota Corolla she bought brand new. She drove from Seattle to TX, staying in hotels along the way, yet her car’s taken next to her cockroach infested apartment!! Her roommate gave her bedroom to her bf. She got another apartment for her but it’s nothing like her friends!! It’s super ghetto!! No cameras, electric gates don’t work but they’re not responsible for the stolen car!! I haven’t quit crying bc I’m on SSDI and fix everything!!
I use to be in property management. Most lease agreements have a clause that states ownership is not liable for personal property that becomes lost, damaged or stolen. That's what renter's and car insurance is for.
With the way housing costs are right now, and the lack of rentals in general, a lot of people can’t afford to pick and choose where they live. Gotta take what’s available. I’ve been looking 8.5 months for a rental, it’s tough out there.
I felt his comments were rude as heck. And then he had the nerve to get in his vehicle lookin like he lives in it! Or he is a dumpster diver/hoarder himself. Buddy quit peepin peoples blinds and get ya lantern out your car! SMH
Lamont, when I was broke I lived in a dump. I had roaches. Yeck. I lived there 4 years. I made it work. I reported the apt building to health dept. They cleaned up the roaches. Thankgod.
Hi Lamont, those blinds reminded me of what my blinds looked like when my kitty cat was a crazy a** kitten who had nonstop zoomies. lol My blinds and shades did not stand a chance. lol Happy New Year to Lamont and to everyone here in the comment section. Have a great and safe weekend y'all. 🥳🥂🔔🎶HAPPY 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣‼
I'm partial to orange tabby cats, my favorite cat ever was an orange tabby. You can tell he/she liked you a lot Lamont! They could sense your gentle nature and love for all creatures, so beautiful 🥺
My friend moved in her apartment about a year ago she's on disability and she was put in an apartment where it's just what you described there's already been two shootings, and you're right on the money about apartments like that.
The key to living in a place like that is to keep to yourself and drive a beater. If you start getting mixed up with your neighbors and all the nonsense it will go bad quickly.
I just discovered your channel(s) a few weeks ago. LOVE them! LOVED this video. In my complex they go around looking at blinds & if they're messed up you have to pay $35 for maintanance to replace them before they will let you pay your rent. I personally like that & don't mind because messed up blinds are tacky as hell! I know cuz my kitties did it once & I gladly payed. I don't want to see trashed out blinds when I'm driving around my complex. Now I leave my blinds up about 6 inches so kitties can see out. No problem since. Our dumpster areas are super clean & trash picked up every other day. We also have a nice indoor air conditioned mail room where packages can be left in coded lockers. They will tow your car in a minute here, thank you. We have 5 clean pools that are maintained year around. This is a big complex (1,000) & run by a national management company that do an awesome job! It's very hard to get in here. Took me 2 months. Just signed 3rd lease & going nowhere unless it all of a sudden goes to hell.
The old saying “you get what you pay for” would definitely apply to apartments, and these days something for $625 a month is going to be crap. The sad fact is that if you want a nice place in a nice neighborhood, it’s going to cost you. What I would also do when looking into apartments is contact local law enforcement to see what kind of problems they’ve hand the apartment complex. If a place is cheap, but it’s in an area with a high crime rate, it’s not worth it. There are some places where the police are there every day. Do I see them in my neighborhood? Hardly ever.
Your funny but that's SOOOOO TRUE about the basketball area being in an Apt complex. You sire Know all the secrets. Love ya sweetie. Stay safe as always. You are always welcome to come for a visit 🎉
Blessed to have shelter and affordable rent. My apartment complex is clean and quiet. No its not a luxury apartment. And not modern but its home. Im sure there are many tenants there doing there best.
In all the apartments I've lived in, those blinds tell me that there are bad-assed kids living there that tear that place apart and make a lot of noise.
Or the blinds of an addict always looking out the window 😂. I’m the daughter of two addicts who were totally toxic and they were always looking out the window.
You are in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I know exactly where you are and what the video will be about. You're over by the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. That complex is a roach infested hell hole.
As far as broken mini blinds, I have a garden window my cat wants to look out of all the time. I have replaced the mini blinds several times just to have the same spot broken again. All it takes is one time to leave them down and her wanting the window. I'm not saying this is what happened in your video. Especially since they are broken up high, but here it's the cat. The cat is super old now so I will replace them when she is no longer here. I have a set of new ones in the closet all ready to go. LOL
@@melindasmith3713 I have and done that. I've had a few that you can't replace the slats. It's just easier to buy more than one set at a time. Now the cat is 18 years old so best to just wait until shes not here anymore. Thank you for the recommendation though.
Blinds can be owner who has kids or a dog. Pool can be because of cooler time of year.cars can be ppl on hard times. Now the inside could be roach infested with rent that low the owners probably don’t fumigate the apartment buildings like they should and with apartments once one person has roaches the whole building gets them.
I’ll be looking for apartment in a few months. I never thought to look at the dumpster area , it says a lot. Also checking out the cars , thank you for the information.
Yep, or a crazy a** kitty cat with nonstop zoomies. lol My blinds and shades did not stand a chance, especially when he was a kitten, holy shat. lol But we gotta love our precious fur babies, even if they do feel the need to "redecorate" our home at 3:00 in the morning. lolol 🐶🐈🐕 HaPpY NeW YeAr! 🥳🥂2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣‼
@@BooBooKitty65I know the feeling! My cats never bothered my blinds very much. But those 2 and 3 am zoomies are crazy. My cats will find a DG or Walmart bag, take a run, jump on the bag and ski down the hallway or across the kitchen and living room....I have wood floors so they can slide pretty far...then they crash into something waking us up 😂😂😂 Thankfully it's not an every night thing.
Karen, same here! We had a 98, 28x48 doublewide and moved it further back on our property and stripped it down, remodeled and extended the size. Now it's a 28x80 ranch style. I'm back in the woods, my nearest neighbor is 1/10 th of a mile away and that's my mom's house. In the summer my home cannot be seen from the main road and that's the way I love it. Thankfully the area I live there's very low crime. I love the peace and quiet. I couldn't handle living where there's constant fighting, troubles from neighbors or a bunch of people always hanging around. Give me the country life. 😂😂👍
@@msbigdog1460 lol Aww that's so cute and funny about your kitties with the bags, well not at 2 or 3 in the morning though. lol I can just picture it, them havin the time of their lives in the middle of the night slippin and slidin all around on the bags, not a care in the world about their hoomans tryin to sleep. But I guess they can't help themselves, after all they sleep all dang day and then they are ready to "pawty" all hours of the night. lol Gotta love em. 🐈🐾🐈
Even the bougie apartments will have dirty dumpsters like that, they are just better at blocking it off from view. Very puzzled by "basketball court being a red flag". In my experience, it's the exact opposites. Unused amenities like rusted out playground and the drained pool you mentioned more of a red flag. Looking at broken cars is a much less reliable way now as the economy especially in used car sector going in the gutter. There are a lot of good people especially now just trying to survive on the vehicle they have. Really the only reliable way is to ask the tenants about safety & quality, read reviews, search for any crimes in that area, and view apartments themselves (preferably not the modeled ones they show everyone).
I'm so thankful that I live in an area with very little crime. I have a home in a very rural area, nice and quiet the worst thing we deal with is keeping the coyotes and foxes away from the chicken house. 😂😂👍
IT'S DECEMBER, look at the leaves that are still on the ground. The landlord don't care, it's all Section 8. 4:14 look at the roof, the shingles are literally hanging off. Lamont, it's quiet cause everyone sleeps till 3pm since they don't have a job!
some do some dont. Section 8 owners never check on their property cuz Government pays for everything including damages, I have units that aren't section 8 so I always making sure things are in order cause all I get is a 1000 deposit and what if damages exceed their deposit? im screwed out of money.@@jerseytomato100
I'm with you Mr. Lamont! 👍🏾 The cars that don't run with flat tires. Also look how the young people act towards working class people. 👀 Yep! And broken blinds and over run trash receptacles! No! Avoid those places if possible. I lived in a place like that and the next door neighbor, young boys, broke into our Apartment. 😢
I pay $625 for a studio apartment everything included in Raleigh NC.We have broken down cars, trash around dumpsters and bugs. However we are in a good location near NC STATE.Raliegh is not cheap for housing and homeless has skyrocketed recently believe me.Lamont as always enjoyed the video.
Lamont, I back you 100% . I would never rent an apartment that had a basketball court in the center of it, a flat tire on the other hand I could deal with.
Your right about a nasty dumpster area means nasty apartment. Also if the apartment has a pool, inspect the pool area. If that area looks bad, the apartment is trash.
Hey Lamont, if you come to England, check out the story of ‘the crossbow cannibal’ in Bradford, West Yorkshire, he murdered my friend Suzanne blamires and a few other women, he was caught on cctv in his apartments firing a crossbow into my friends head 😢
Yeah, I used to clean up apartment complexes. The dumpsters will be trashy, see little kids, dragging trash bags across the street then wind up with big holes on them when you go to throw in a dumpster, the bag rips and you got trash everywhere clean up the next day it will be all messed up again, fuck that I quit this job
Yes, I live in an apartment complex and it is kind of bad lots of shootings and homeless people breaking into vacant apartments to keep warm because it’s cold. I used to not be this way, but the new managers don’t care.
I'm living in an apartment but now it's starting to come apart literally and the paint is peeling it was built in the 80s for at a Thousand dollars a month !! I'm working at Walmart for $14 an hour it's been a struggle
You need to start a new channel Animal Lover on the run. When to stay with some friends awhile back and around their dumpsters was used needless. I told them they really need to find somewhere safer to go😢
First clue is Lamont is doing a story there lol I lived in many cities, towns and even countries and when looking for a place the first thing I inspect is the parking lot. It will give you just about all the info you need to make a decision. That's IF you know what you are looking for and at.
