For too long, people have believed in and relied on what they “know,” - what they’ve learned in their narrow life and professional experience. It’s how they’ve hoped to avoid the pain of uncertainty and make life predictable. In the face of epic global changes and change in private life - people will find that surviving - and even thriving - will entail cultivating something different altogether: embracing uncertainty, and accepting that you don’t know what you don’t know. This talk illustrates how this paradigm can apply to any situation in life and will teach anyone to use awareness and techniques to stay open and improve their adaptive capabilities towards the creation of new possibilities for their life.
As a business coach & speaker, Keren Eldad (“Coach Keren”) is a trusted advisor to industry-leading executives and superstar entrepreneurs who are setting records at the top of their fields. Since 2016, powerhouses have sought her out to help them make significant breakthroughs in the profitable growth of their business while revitalizing their energy and defining the meaning of their entire lives. Over the last three years, Keren has developed a measurably impactful and streamlined executive coaching process to do this, while working with top organizations including: J.P. Morgan, Christian Dior, Van Cleef & Arpels, IWC, Waypoint, Beyond Capital, YPO- and more.
A diplomat’s daughter and graduate of the London School of Economics, Keren speaks five languages and can easily relate her message to anyone and everyone, including her social media following of 150K. Having served in the Israeli army and emerging into coaching from crisis counseling, Keren believes in service and humor as a way of life, and comes in focused on adding value and making things better in yours. As a coach, she is accredited by the ICF, WCI and TTI Insights (ACC, CPC, CEC , C.P.M.A., C.P.B.A., C.P.T.A.), and is a top-level Crisis Counselor with Crisis Text Line.

Wonderful points about being mindful... stepping outside ourselves to see people and the world objectively so we can understand and connect with others. If we are lucky, we can bring them along this journey of learning and existing more comfortably together.

Super insightful talk! It's great advice to take a step back and consider what you don't know in a given situation. It's way too easy/natural to conjure a story to explain away problems, challenges, the behavior of others, etc. Allowing yourself to indulge in a false sense of certainty indeed can lead to misunderstanding, miscommunication and missed opportunities! Tough to remember when you're in the thick of it, but so critical to living a healthy and mindful life! Thank you for the great content, Keren!

You don’t know what you don’t know, that’s true. In your story her husband left her and that translated into a positive message. The opposite can also be true where in a situation where you are positive and made certain decisions based on that but the positive ness was not warranted. Then that decision was in fact an incorrect decision.
@paddydiddles4415
@paddydiddles4415 4 года назад
Yes, but if we know certain truths, which are logically incompatible with the hypothetical unknowns, then this is sufficient to exclude the unknowns. The argument that ‘you don’t know what you don’t know’ doesn’t stand up if they can be logically discounted

What is the opposite of the condition she is talking about? Like if someone over-challenges what they think they know? That you dont only "see one way out of this" but unlimited ways out of this, to the point that a choice becomes almost impossible?

Dear Sir, D-K indeed would have been very ironic as it is in itself a form of cognitive bias AND the total opposite of the whole point conveyed in this talk. I made that statement - as many others - as a joke - and one that made the audience laugh, though it was not audible. I am sorry this did not land, and so appreciate your taking the time to watch and to comment. No matter, I hope you appreciate my taking the time to reply to you, too. I wish you all the best.
