The first time I made this salsa I didn't like it at all! And of course I made 33 half pints . I left it on the shelf .... until a year and a half later when I needed the jars. I decided to open one and try it one more time... IT WAS AMAZING! Literally the best salsa I've ever had. So don't open those jars too soon!!
Hi Leisa! I really like that you're showing people how to stock up and make things for your own pantry. People in cities can do this. People who are infirmed and can't have a garden can do this. Also what kind of ladle is that? I love it.
Leisa, I love that you showed this salsa project using the canned tomatoes. This might be just what people who want to learn to can decide to tackle for their first project. With your tips and Mrs. Wages seasoning, they can't go wrong.
I made this a couple months ago. Delicious salsa. So easy. I got a real bargain on canned organic tomatoes at grocery outlet so each jar was about 50 cents to can. Win win!!
I am nearly 70, and have been canning since I was old enough to stand on a stool beside my Nana. Years and years of so much time invested in preparing ALL of those veggies, when there was this!! I just canned the hot, because our faces are too old to melt, and it is beyond fantastic!! Who knew???? I used fire roasted, its what I had. Amazing...
Started using Mrs.Wages from Linda at 2leelou. I absolutely love that you all are doing collaboration. Btw canned 21 pints of ugly chicken yesterday and 12 pints of ground beef😁 love my life❤
This salsa will be my first time using Mrs. Wages. I bought 2 packs of the medium but now I’m wishing I had bought more. Thanks to all the channels participating and Mrs. Wages ❤
Thank you so much! It's been so hot here that our garden hasn't produced much. 17 days of 100°+ and heat indexes up to 117. Canned tomatoes to the rescue.
What great products Mrs Wages has! I didn't know I could do this with canned tomatoes! GAME CHANGER! My tomatoes are pitiful this year. Good to know I can make this to share and still look like a rock star gardener and canner. Who's telling? Not me!😄
I made a double batch of the medium salsa, kosher dill, and bread and butter pickles. Today I made the pizza sauce and applesauce. All with Mrs. Wages mixes. They all taste great.
Leisa, I too have never used Mrs. Wages, and I am 71 and have canned all my life. However, I bought her Salsa mix 2 weeks ago and made Salsa, haven't tried it yet. I'm looking forward to this collaboration and what others, Mrs Wages users, have to say. Thank you so much. 🙏🙌❤️
Thank you for the video. I always Lear something from you. Today, I learned to use my steam canner to warm up the empty jars. No more heating them on a separate pot to warm up. You are an inspiration.
Much more cost effective buying the mix and 6 cans of tomatoes. Also, hubby and I have different levels of heat comfort so we could both have what we want! Thank you Leisa!
I have made this salsa several times and absolutely love it. I use it in soups, stews, chili and chicken Alfredo. It is very versatile. Love having it in my pantry.
Salsa , a good one, at least, can spice up so many meals. We put it on rice, we use it in breakfasts, we substitute for tomatoes in some recipes we want a spicier flare to. Love it!
I’ve done Mrs Wages mixes both ways. I’ve done the pasta sauce with both fresh tomatoes and canned tomatoes. I had several #10 cans that someone had given me . They both turned out just the same . Can on Leisa 😊
I'll bet there's Basil, Cilantro and parsley in there, I make my own, and I never need to add vinegar to my salsas, just cook all the ingredients fresh and can it up, I wipe with vinegar, lid and hot water bath for 15 min...perfect every time, never had one spoil, or come undone, lasts 2 years AT LEAST!
This is the best salsa! Like you said it’s so easy to make and really versatile. My husband won a chili cook off using this salsa. We eat it on eggs and I use it as a base for my taco soup. I can’t wait for the rest of Mrs. wages week!
I tried this salsa last year, and I'm glad I did. I have always canned salsa from scratch but didn't have time ladt year, so I bought a packet and some fire roasted tomatoes and . . . Voila . . . SALSA. So good, soveady, and best of all - husband approved.
i am so glad you used the canned tomatoes. My tomatoes are about through for the summer and I have some packets of Mrs Wages Salsa. I love how easy this will be using canned tomatoes.
This is absolutely perfect for me! Birds enjoyed my tomatoes, but I had gotten a great deal on small diced tomatoes. On top, no chopping!! Yep, perfect for me!
I use this salsa to make Spanish rice it’s fabulous tasting. I also use this salsa for my tamales and my enchiladas too both chicken and or beef enchiladas. Makes a great topping for you tacos too 👍🏼
I didnt think I would like canning , but its relaxing to me,doesnt feel like work .I made the mrs wages salsa , since I had a bumper crop of tomatoes. feels great to have a lot of canned goods in the cabinet.
Made a double batch today. Ended up with 11 pints, so had to scramble to get a second pot going to water bath! I used the medium mix that I had on my shelf for a while. It was a bit spicy for my palate, I usually use mild salsa. I figure it will age a bit less spicy. It did taste amazing, steaming out of the pot.
I also used the crushed tomatoes when I made Mrs Wages salsa this past winter. It was delicious. Really enjoying the Mrs Wages collaboration. Thank You for sharing.
I have never used Mrs Wages seasoning mix. I never thought about using canned diced tomatoes I have those cans of toe-maters sitting on myshelf. ;) I am going to repurpose them for salsa. What a great idea. Thank you for sharring.
This made my day. Never thought of using can tomatoes. My garden isn’t that huge and we’re not getting tuns of tomatoes. Enough for salads and such. That’s because we moved 2 yrs ago but didn’t have our stuff ready to go till this year because a couple other things came first. I’m going to try this for sure. You made my day. I’d rather have garden tomatoes but not enough coming in. Bell peppers are not ready but cucumbers are tuns and I made pickles and relish is next. Thanks for sharing.❤
This is absolutely aaaaaammmmazzzing. I made a batch today and OMG I'm in Salsa Heaven. Thank You for introducing me to this product. I found one place here in Windsor who sells a few of their products...I bought them out....lol. Again, Thank You Leisa and Hugs from Canada.
I was wondering about Mrs Wages. I don’t have a garden. Might have to give a try. I keep buying my vegetables at the farmers market and never make it until Christmas with my Salas’s. Hubby really loves salsa.
Playing catch up,,power still out since Monday, internet and cell gone also,,but using it for like 40 years seems I can get on here now, I love Mrs wages,,
I have used Mrs. Wages for several years Salsa is fantastic.. I usually use my own tomatoes and if I don't have enough? I use store diced tomatoes to supplement a batch. I love Mrs. Wages Pickling mix too always get good results. Anna In Ohio
I have seen Mrs. Wages products (just the pickles and salsa)for years but never tried them because I thought they would taste "off". Thanks to this collaboration, I am going going to look for and try as many as I can find! Another "made in the USA " product ...from my home state of Mississippi.
I am loving this collaboration! Making mild salsa tonight using Mrs Wages-recently made the Pasta sauce mix with home grown tomatoes- really really good. I will definitely be trying more of Mrs Wages mixes. Thank you for sharing!
Hi, Leesa, We didn't end up with a garden this year so this is super timely! I like home canned tomato products and salsa is one where we can control the heat when we make our own. This recipe could NOT get simpler. I'll ck out that Mrs. Wages for sure. Thank you for your videos and I hope you have a great rest of your summer!
