This is a song written by Archie Jordan. He also wrote "What a Difference You've Made in my Life" and other tunes that BJ Thomas recorded. Brilliant and very humble man.
Actually it is B.J., can't mistake that voice. He introduced this song in the early 80's when he first started his music ministry, he had just accepted Christ as his personal Savior... Now who wrote it is unknown, but that is B.J. Thomas!
This song is one of the most beautiful written. I remember seeing him in concert one night in Atlanta, Georgia. He sang a couple of songs, to which the crowd clapped for a few seconds. He sang this as his first Christian song for the night and the crowd went wild. They were standing up clapping before he was finished with the song. I was in tears and has goose bumps all over my body. One experience I will never, ever forget!

Daryl Huffman, a 23 year guitar player with BJ is here in my home town of Mobile, Alabama as is the writer Claire Cloninger. I would know BJ's voice if he tried to disguise it! You are correct on the date timeframe--it was 1979, but remember, that was WELL into the career of B.J. For reference, go listen to Nothing Could Be Better, Walkin' On A Cloud, or Jesus Hearted People--those were all done just the next year 1980. That was a very mature voice from B.J. Better yet, go find the original You Gave Me Love and listen---no comparison!!! this ain't B.J.!!!
First of all, this is without a doubt---NOT B.J. Thomas. Second, I have this soundtrack and it is the exact background as mine track as mine--not exactly like the original. This is someone else singing a B.J. song with a track.

NO, it is NOT! For God sake, go fine his version and listen---this guy has a voice that is pretty, but B.J. has a very exact voice--and this is not it--sorry!!!!
