We have a very powerful death aura round us, which means anyone near us will perish! ▬▬▬▬▬ Twitter: / angory_tom Patreon: / angorytom Twitch: / angorytom Reddit: / yogscast Merch: store.yogscast.com/collection...
Hey Tom! I bought this game after you played it last and put about 20 hours into it, it was really good! I would definitely suggest that you check the achievements as they unlock new cards and are not too difficult to do, you can get cool stuff like weapon and item evolutions, the magic wisp is much better after it is evolved!
Death Aura and the Fire Rune can't crit, so Average removing crit for a major attack boost is perfect; it also thins out the card pull by getting rid of crit cards. Attack Speed affects the rate of attack for every weapon, and one of the most important stats for Death Aura and Fire Rune, besides usual base damage, damage %, and area. Range is semi misleading. It increase the projectile lifetime so it can fly further thus increasing range; however, it's best with Thunder Staff where it increases the uptime of the projectiles which allows the for more active instances of projectiles. Add Attack Speed on top of Range with Thunder Staff and you can get around 40 concurrent instances of Thunder Staff going at once(at it's best). Magic Wand also benefits from Range more for overall uptime than how far it goes, due to the time the projectile spends looping and homing in on targets. All weapons in the game are strong on their own, with the right build, with exception to the Wisp. Wisp by itself needs Fractal and high Attack Speed to be semi good, but without a maxed Void Spirit you will miss out on a lot of experience as it will kill enemies considerably far off screen. It's evolution is better, but still pretty bad at dealing with elites and bosses.
Btw Tom, the World of Horror recently got updated, and is near release now! Mayb you could play that sometime, I hope that Dev will find strength for a final push if his game gets more attention)
Time to spend some Soul Points in the shop and unlock more stuff! Continuing to play to unlock all of the cards is definitely worth it. The game feels so different after you've put some time in it. It's real good.
I bought this game after Tom's first video on it. I've already finished all the content, just waiting on them to release the other world now. Really love it. I found it a little too difficult at first, but I soon got used to it. Though it's pretty nails doing the survive for 30 minutes mode. Around the 20 minute mark unless your setup if perfect, you're going to be in for a bad time as basically every single enemy is a boss and there are hundreds of them.
I'm suprised the Yogs haven't published a basic Rogue game like this, top down "2d" kill things get upgrades etc. Or maybe even have it as a completely in house game. They're fairly basic speaking from a little bit of experience, even the AI is essencially just "move towards the player". The art and balancing are the hard parts and they have plenty of artists. Only needs to have a very slight twist for it to be a new game, I'm sure Tom has a few little basic spins that can be added to games like this.
For anyone curious this kind of game came about in the old times of 2000's when Zombie and Alien Shooter were popular. Crimsonland came to snatch us away.
One of my favorite upgrades is for dash. If you would get hit and have at least 3 charges of dash available, evade the hit and consume 2 dash charges. Some other upgrades cut the dash cooldown and make you recharge 2 dashes per cooldown, and it just ends up working out fairly well.
Tom, Thank you so much for playing these games. I ended up purchasing this game for my first "Blank Survival" game and I was very happy with how fun it was.
Wow, Tom caved to my demands after only five days, thanks guys, we did it, we got Tom to say 'A-Bam', in spite of his promise to never cave to comment peer pressure again
classic tom thought "let's go aura based" --> gets a bunch of shit and not base damage "let's get projectiles" --> doesn't get the projectile multipliers
TOMOTHY~~ Buy the Reroll & Quality Reroll Permanent Upgrades. Put EVERYTHING into those FIRST. Trust!! Also, My boy. Stop picking the bow. Same with Shuriken; Don't pick it. In fact Don't pick anything that shoots the nearest/ weakest enemy. The Crossbow is fine, but ONLY if you have a reliable main weapon FIRST. If you want to do ranged weapons go with the Spear: +Max Damage, +Projectiles, +Attack Speed, +Weight. It becomes a Shotgun. Tack the Kunai and Magic Wand onto that and you BECOME the Bullet Hell. If you take the Wisp you HAVE to max it ASAP. Theres a FULL PACIFIST TANK build later on in the game where you can just stand still and REFLECT Damage. No outgoing damage. Its hilarious.
Doing the second rank world without many soul shop upgrades is just a lesson in pain and wasting time (even if you're good at surviving, killing stuff takes SO LONG).
Had to buy this after the last vid, absolutely loving it. Tom, my boy, embrace the Wind's Blade. Get it, attack speed buffs, and momentum for the knockback and projectile size. I promise you, you will NOT be disappointed..
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1067 OOO good to see this game again, and I do agree, it looks super nice Oh cool, that was a good first build, second though errrrrrr Classic Tom, saying one thing then immediately doing the other XD Comparing Red Barrels to Floor Chicken makes sense actually :D
Does anyone else feel like Kunai kinda sucks ass. Also the thing about Rogue: Genesia is that you can't run away a lot since enemies that go offscreen respawn closer to you from the different edge of screen kinda like early KF2.
