Btw Kyle, AMD is officially launching Ryzen 5000 Threadripper pro CPUs to the DIY market instead of OEM pre-builds. But they’re only being sold by more than $4k, possibly for keeping competition alive instead of slightly being downgraded for something that’s already OP by itself. Meaning it’s gonna be extremely perfect for you to upgrade both the CPU and GPU for proper next gen hardware. Since the ThreadRipper Pro is gaining 128gb of PCIE 4.0 lanes

To be honest, I feel like the way that board behaves when the CPU fan connector is not plugged is either a defect or a bios bug from the mfg. It absolutely should at least boot and give you an error as you said. That's very confusing especially when it takes that long to boot and show that error.

Depends on what your own preferences for acoustics are. Given the 3090Ti’s cooling performance, their fan coolers were extremely well designed and operate with much less fan speeds than its predecessors. However, 40 series will definitely be hotter (TDP) and thus introduce a new variable for cooler design requirements. I think the thermal capacity of water will be capable of cooling both a 40-series and Threadripper cpu quite well as a given, but the new cooler design for 40-series will be hit or miss. Imo get some thicker rads @ the 360mm shown in this video, and you should be good to go for both power hungry components. A better/faster pump-reservoir should help as well.

Imagine getting a brand new expensive car like a Lamborghini. Then don’t bother starting it up and leave it to sit for years outside. Dust and sun wear beat on the car causing damage because you were so privileged and didn’t actually need the car. Years down the road you finally are like, “I guess I could start up this Lamborghini for the first time since I got it.” You go to start it up and it doesn’t turn over, the battery is dead because the alternator never kept the battery charged due to never starting the car for years. You replace the battery but the car is already beaten and damaged from the lack of attention and care. Now you go to start it up again with a new battery applied… now you realize you left the keys in the car and the doors are locked. Your community let you know that you should have a spare set of keys in your house. You acknowledge common sense and go get the keys to open the car and see that the interior lights even turned on when you opened the door. Now you start the car and show it off to the community but the damage is already done, you had a brand new car and ignore it for years then make common sense seem rare like you don’t have any. Yes you may have finally given it attention finally after years but this means nothing when you say “I am waiting until I got a new model alternator when it comes out” so we will watch the 5 minutes of fame you show the community of this car. The next day it will just be set aside again until the next gen alternator comes out… what a waste. We don’t appreciate the ignorance of a privileged RU-vidr.
