I'm an SDSU alum, and I love this dude - and he has been cleared of any wrongdoing (he wasn't even present at the party, and it has been proven). He deserves to play in the NFL! Someone should really pick him up now.
your statement is only half correct. He wasn't at the party. He WAS across the street, in the woods(even creepier), getting a BJ from the same underage girl. he admitted to this, so definitely not cleared of all wrongdoing.
There's video proof that he wasn't even there, he was caught on video leaving the party about 30 minutes before the incident even happened, it was good enough that the prosecutor declined charges. He's sued his accuser for defamation. He's clearly been harmed by her accusations, I hope she's a rich-kid and he wins big.
@@maggiedomos1799 The prosecutor saw video evidence of him leaving the party 30 minutes before the incident happened and declined to press charges. I don't know what your definition of "cleared" is, I call it good enough.
The title had me leaning more towards- snapping bones and ligaments. Seen some brutal injuries where they get ran into and I thought this was one of those moments. Like he got folded up big time or something.
@@cornxx3 Football is a brutal sport where 100 guys younger than you are just waiting to take your job. Break a bone or tear a ligament and you're finished. For every guy that plays 10 years and makes millions there are another 100 that play 2 years and we never hear from them again. Kickers are safer from injury but they're mostly disposable, have 2 bad games and you're done. Better off playing baseball.
@@cornxx3 Sorry, I have a bad habit of stating the obvious which can be condescending, something I really hate. I was just expanding on your point of how brutal the game is. I've had multiple concussions, lucky I can still spell my own name. It's CTE that really freaks me out but so far so good.
Dude wasn't just a punter he was their kicker as well. That's why he won the MVP. The Kicker at almost every university that plays college football is the all time leading scorer. SDSU was not undefeated that season.
@@chadchadderton lol 👌champ. No person who played above pop Warner league would say "the negative 9 yard line" anyone with a passing interest in college ball knows SDSU hasn't "went undefeated" anytime recently. In fact a simple Google search will tell you that hasn't happened since 1969. Lots of place kickers are school scoring leaders and in their rings of honor and won season MVPs the guy in the video wasn't just a punter. "This dude" missed 4 easily obtainable points of information relative to the story and got common knowledge among football fans wrong. I highly doubt he played college ball but even if he did he has very little knowledge of the game....so eat a bowl-a-dick chadderton
As a Bills fan, I really hope they make amends and bring him back if they get the chance. Having a guy accused of something like that is a PR nightmare and I understand releasing him in the moment, but now that he's acquitted he better be back.
Doesn’t matter there’s tons of other punters who come without any baggage... ray Lewis’s murder charges were dropped but people were bringing it up when his son died couple weeks ago
It's sad that the league hasn't reached out to him now - hopefully he can be clutch with the XFL/USFL or even Canadian leagues until this all blows over.
punting is my favorite part of football, i;m 6ft 4 and when i was in my early 20,s i played in a touch league, turned out i could consistently punt balls 50 yards in the air, i had no idea having never tried it before.
Back in the day, Jim Thorpe, during game warm-ups at Carlile, would kick 100-yard in-the-air punts. This showing off would psych out the other teams before the games.
@@markuhler2664 As long as we remember him and pass it on, the ones who listened to us will be better informed. Yes, I loved watching Ray Guy punting balls into the scoreboards. He won many a bet doing so.
Wrong. He was cleared of those charges, when it was discovered he wasn't even there during the events that woman alleged happened to her. It'll be hard for him to get a spot, but he'll get there, one day
I remember Brad Wing for LSU during the year they beat Bama in regular season and lost to them in BCS championship. Brad was the first player to lose a TD for excessive celebration before scoring ("An Australian PUNTER!") and won the game ball from the win over Bama in the regular season for some end zone-to-red zone punts. But sadly, these boomers don't translate well to NFL where hang-time and placement count more. Araiza was out-kicking his coverage team, if you noticed.
The fact that he was kicking the ball way over the punt receivers head makes up for the difference of out kicking the coverage. The coverage gets there and downs the ball because the kick receiver never gets a chance to field the ball. Never having the ball returned on a punt is the BEST outcome!
It's a shame what happened to him. Accused of rape and then immediately curt from the NFL and his entire life is over. His punting career and his name. All the cases were dropped and he's no longer being prosecuted, but his life is still ruined forever.
@@mr.g.culinary there is... either Matt didn't engage in any sort of litigation or simply he isn't able to prove that it was a lie... either way, false accusations (eg Malicious prosecution) is a criminal offence champ.
@@chadchadderton and why should it be on HIM to pursue that, champ? So he can continue to be attacked and dragged through the mud and have what little he has potentially taken away even more? It's totally wrong what's been done to him and he deserves justice
@@mr.g.culinary Malicious Prosecution in a criminal court is a civil wrong, and he is entitled to seek a civil claim if he wants champ. Not to mention if someone enters a false police claim than they're at risk of being criminally charged IF there's enough evidence to prove they lied (Which prosecutors might not have in this instance) apparently you're so uneducated not only are you unaware of the law, but you're also incapable of using a simple search engine to educate yourself.
@@chadchadderton the prosecutors found evidence he was in a different fucking zip code the night of the alleged rape so they dropped the case. bro was screwed over big time
i feel horrible for this guy, a generational talent, would have been able to set up his entire family for life, all ruined because some girl was ashamed because she let a bunch of guys blow her back out and so she fabricated a lie and said it was grape. i hope somehow this guy is able to use his gift and earn a big bag some day.
Hoping Araiza becomes a Weapon like Oakland Raiders Ray Guy! I was at many a Raider game in Oakland. We would go the Top Row of the stadium during Pre-Game where the Sea Gulls hung out and Guy's Punts would soar above the top row of the Oakland Coliseum. Can't wait to see Araiza in action!
You obviously never saw Ray Guy punt in college and later for the Raiders. He was drafted in the 1st round - 1st punter ever to do so - . He was voted into the NFL Hall of Fame - 1st punter ever. The Ray Guy Award goes to the best collegiate punter each year. Ray Guy is the punter that turned punting into a weapon.
How about a discussion of left-footed punters? If punters and quarterbacks were left handed at the same rate as the general population there would be three of each in the NFL. At the moment there is one quarterback and quite a few punters. I enjoy your channel, thanks.
What's your point? Is it that we now have another new class of oppressed people? Are we fostering hand dominance discrimination? Is there now going to be demands for more hand dominance diversity? Equal opportunity for the Left(ies)? Reparations?
The ball rotates differently from a lefty and makes it harder for some people to catch because the aren’t used to it. So it’s a detriment to QBs(hurts their WRs) and bonus for punters (more muffs)
@@UBBlifestyle i was 2 yrs into HS ball before someone finally told me why i was so valuable as a lefty punter. it also explained why receivers dropped my punts half the time. i just thought it was the the advantage of the extra half step DE had to travel to try and block. lol
Rohn Stark. Check his career as a lefty punter. Not to mention an all-American decathlete for Florida State. In their hall of Fame for both sports. Pat Mcafee, in his endless parade of tank tops, wishes he was half the athlete Stark was.
Utah had good kickers and punters for about 10 years and a lot of people don’t give these guys enough credit for the importance of their play - kickers rack up points and punters bail out offense
I 1/2 expected the punter to literally be the "snapper/center" on a play. I can say I am 1/2 happy to be wrong. The other 1/2 of me wanted to see that. :)
I'm sure the false accuser will not do jail time. Women get away with murder. In this case, she murdered his career, his finances, and his reputation. She's evil.
yes, unfortunately she might get away with it... but stating "women get away with murder" is objectively a disgustingly misogynistic comment. SHE might get away with it, but that doesn't reflect on all women and all cases. Otherwise the logic can be applied to men, considering many men do sadly get away with r*pe... so subsequently men in general always get away with r*pe right?
"leaving the announcers with nothing more than just fragments of sentences trying to piece it together, wrapping their head around what just happened". It'd be nice to actually hear those mythical announcers utter those fragments of sentences. Not that I don't think everything on the internet is true; just as a bonus.
There are a lot of great players sitting on the bench if given a chance will prove themselves over and over again especially in high school! Some coaches just don't see these players potentials!
I use to collect only QB'a and Kickers autographs from the UofArk.......kicker is always a hero or a zero...we have had some excellent ones at Arkansas!
He should file a lawsuit against the nfl blackballing him. He’s wrongfully accused, then cleared of wrongdoing and still isn’t playing. Kamara actually gang beat a guy unconscious and gets 3 games. Not to mention Kaepernick, Watson and Gordon for all if the suspension blunders the league has screwed up. Also Trevor Bauer formerly of the MLB recently defended himself against a lawsuit similar to that of Ariza but should sue the league and team that let him go after the false accusations.
Minus -9 yard line? The ball would be one yard from the back of the end zone, and the punter would be punting from out of bounds. I would gladly make a bet with my life savings that has never happened.
Youre not comprehending, the pubted it from the -9 yard line, meaning they were on like the 2 yard line, and get had 1 yard of space to punt it. All you had to do was WATCH the video to figure that one out
