@@FunnyDougy No, since he first became known to the people what he did was make people think, and made us laugh by bringing up everyday things, events, saying, etc. and putting in a new light. As he got older he changed... a little bitter.

There is danger in blindly respecting anything. Criticize what needs to be criticized (which is not the same as mocking something for the sake of it). George Carlin was well aware.

Religion is like programming children to be LGBTQ, its exactly the same mental attack , leave them kids alone . All religions that speak for "god" is probably THEFT or a slight to any real GOD if such a being existed and so it BEHOOVES people to say take a flying leap , leave us alone, program your selves with your weirdness. And programming kids, wow, there is nothing lower in my eyes..that kinda stuff is Jeff Epsteinium to me.

I'm a non-denominational Christian. I so agree. Mr. Carlin convinced me to scrutinize my own faith and convictions and allow others to as well.

Exactly - that's what comedy is all about! Nothing should ever be considered 'safe' for ridicule...good comedy is supposed to be on 'the edge', encourage us to distance ourselves from our ego and challenge us and/or our ev. biases and prejudices. At least in MHO.

Oh yeah. That whole "our Rights are being eroded every year" statement is very true! So, if Carlin suddenly came back to life & saw the current state of our country & Rights, he would be REVOLTED! (Heck, I'm only in my 50s, and I am disgusted!)

​@@Tijuanabill being incarcerated without reason is very high on the lists of horrors, not knowing if the next decision of the government is to shoot everyone in the camp, is incredibly high level of horror, not receiving basic necessities for long periods, it's very high level horror, it was absolutely a CONCENTRATION camp, and the fact that they didn't gas people down doesn't change that at all. Do you think it was a 5 star hotel accommodation? that they have room for over 100k people? or do you think they just piled up everyone very close together, beat them, and scream the most offensive shit they could think of, if they even look the wrong way? If you think it was in any way humane, your intelligence level and humanity level is below what should be acceptable to be kept alive.

He explained this very well in his "religion is bulls***" bit. He said he actually tried to believe in God, he really did but the older you get the more you look around and say "something isn't right here" if this is divine planning then God would have been thrown out a long time ago. This isn't the type of work you expect from a divine being, these are the result you get from an office temp with a bad attitude

That's a pedantic and faulty separation. A religion is going to be someone's religion. You can't make fun of a religion without making fun of someone's religion.

I learned about this plenty in American history class, surprisingly. It definitely stuck out to me, being half-Korean. And it just hits hard, hearing about Carlin speak on this. But he is right. Right are not rights if they can be taken away. And many Asians, not just the Japanese-Americans, were put in those camps, simply for being Asian in America.

Not to take anything away from MrLBoyd himself, but rather revealing of the low-information reactors you've seen: the internment and property theft from Japanese-Americans was taught in my high school.

And there always will be some who won't like hearing George''s truths, and the way he told them.

Plenty of awful atheist today. Just look at the ones trying to normalize pedophilia and grooming. Something the bible would out right tell you is sinful. People need structure. You take it away and they start embracing any thought in their head as if it was ok.

Most people need religion to act right, it's just the way it is whether you agree or not.

George Carlin ( my favorite Comedian, and one of my favorite philosophers) only had "a dozen or so thoughts" in a seventy year career. But these thoughts continued to get "Refined" and "Polished" until the point where "The brick" he beat us over the head with in the 50's ... was a Laser guided missle in the 2000's

I agree. When he got his start, he was squeaky clean, and hilarious! To me it just shows you don't have to be mean to make people laugh.

Politicians in the US especially, love to bring up God. I used to want to move there but that was one of my main reasons i decided not to in the end.
