I firmly trust science, and everything that has been proven with sufficient evidence & sufficient peer review is fact. Everything else, though....it's fun to wonder; faith as a concept isn't inherently bad as long as it doesn't stand in the way of knowledge.

Here is something that I wrote 1 month ago that encapsulates your sentiment sir: "I believe that you Believe in it. I have faith that you have Faith in it. My Belief and Faith are the same notions, we both hold true. We must therefore believe in the faith we both to have."

It’s much easier to keep the masses at peace with the promise of a heavenly afterlife like the song says, “and far far away beyond the fields, the tolling of the iron bell, to draw the faithful to their knees and hear the softly spoken magic spell.”

@11:00: I got "lucky enough" (I wasn't trying to do this, I just like history and the events happened to line up) to swing by the Japanese American museum in Los Angeles where they have _excellent_ sections about this including a reconstructed internment building and lots of documents; then later drive past (and stay a night near) a camp up near Lone Pine where some of those stories came from. Haunting stuff. If anyone's passing through either of those places and is a history nerd, consider a stop

I actually liked the fact that George poked fun at religion. I’ve tired of people telling me what to think, that I’m wrong, I’m going to hell, I’m crazy for not believing in Christianity or Jesus (or any other religion). It’s offensive to me! So why must I tipy toe around THEM, so as not to offend THEM? They’ve offended ME all the time when they’re pushy! Like George once said in a bit, ‘keep thy religion to thy self!’

Ive taught my son that you should respect others beliefs UNLESS they are using these beliefs to hurt or put down others. Then there needs to be no respect.

Georgie is not making fun, he is a comedian, not a university lecturer. However, you can probably learn mo from Carlin, because he is straight and not covering up the truth, like US universities

Its bad for ya , Georges last HBO special (recorded when he was 70, let that sink in) was in my opinion his best ever, and also the best stand up routine EVER, love bill hicks, Richard Pryor, Rodney Dangerfield etc , George Carlin made you think as well as laugh.

Yes, he is correct to a point the one thing that is not mentioned by anybody is that they were given farm land after the war was over.
