I bought a 330i touring after listening to your advice. Does not have iDrive but looking to get that retrofitted. Car has 130 000 miles and sounds and drives like new.

Interesting. My 2013 BMW 328i Coupe, the N52 Engine has 167,000 miles, still going strong. I'm trying for 200K miles. I purchased it in 2017 from the original owner with 75K miles. I do full synthetic oil changes every 5000 miles, on the Dot. No Dealership or Mechanic has ever touched my Car, ever.

They had to touch mines.. I had to get full alignment after changing out my front rear suspension.. but I never take to anyone unless I absolutely just cannot do the work myself

130i in manual is legend..I had 120d 6spd surprisingly that car was so much fun which i sold on 302000km. On the e60 is the n52 best engine over the n53?

Hi Dean was so pleased to hear about the e60 530i n52 I bought one on your recommendation has I've mentioned to you many times it's a 06 530i msport I was thinking about selling it has since I've had the e53 which I also bought on your recommendation I've always liked the first edition and you made my mind up to get one and I love it but getting back to the e60 after just hearing what you have seid I'm not going to sell it I'll put it on sorn and pack it away till next spring so glad I got the notification about this video

These basically don't exist in USA. 128i in US is not a hatchback but does have N52 and these are now reaching 12-15k USD. 528i in the US is the N52 version and I rarely see these and they look to be sitting around the 8-10k USD mark. The 6 series doesn't come with anything but the V8 or the older M6 V10 and nobody wanted that car, really fugly until 2012. E9x series are wildly popular here in the 328i N52 and 335i N54/N55 models. One car that should be on the radar for future appreciation is the E60 M5 though.

Great video. I own a US Spec pre-LCI 2006 530i with the N52 engine and 6 speed manual transmission. Love the car. But I might have to sell it soon because I just bought a new BMW 5 series.

I remember looking for a 130i about 7;years ago and no BMW dealers had one on the used lots. There were loads of uninspiring 4 pot diesels.

Agreed! ZF8 is one of the best gearboxes there is out there unfortunately it ain’t in any of these cars but it was in my M135i and I loved it best gearbox I ever had and ever driven.

130i must be great for track days and has space if you want to bring friends. - reliable engine under severe stress. I had a z4 same n52 ,but that was a little bit older tech.

Years ago Dean declared the M54 the most usable, reliable, & easily serviceable BMW engine out there. He even admitted he loves the N52 more, but they do require staying on top of things much more than M54's. Since you're watching this channel I'm sure you're mechanically inclined, so it probably doesn't matter either way. Comes down to what you like more & which one had a better previous maintenance history.
