What about time? In Memento, the protagonist burns a clock. Time plays a huge role in Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar and Dunkirk.

loosekarrott Good call! time is something that we all know and feel and we can see its effects, but it's something that we don't truly understand as Humanity. it constantly marches on in one direction for us as people, and Nolan loves to play on the fact that we never have enough of it.

In the video, they called it "non-linear" I'm guessing that means time. Time is the most distinguishing feature of Nolan, and it is doubtful that they would leave it off the video.

Love should have been included as one of the themes of his movies. Love is the core of the guilt in Inception, the core of the revenge in Dark Knight, the core of self sacrifice in Interstellar. Love is his strongest theme across the films.

OK so I just found that Michael Caine had a cameo: "Toward the beginning of the film, as pilots played by Tom Hardy and Jack Lowden fly overhead, they receive radio instructions from an uncredited voice. That’s Michael Caine! Nolan confirmed the cameo to NJ.com earlier this month: Q: Speaking of the cast - and stop me if this is meant to be a secret - but is that a Michael Caine cameo we hear early in the film? Talking on the radio to the RAF man? A: Yes, good for you for spotting him. It’s shocking to me that a lot of people haven’t, when he has really one of the most distinctive voices in cinema. I wanted very much to squeeze him in here. It’s a bit of a nod to his character in Battle of Britain. *And also, it’s Michael. He has to be in all my films, after all."*

Nolan, while still delivering the blockbuster action scenes that appeal to casual movie-goers, encourages people to think deeper to unlock the mysteries of his outstanding masterpieces.

Some of the things you say here are somewhat vague and could apply to a number of different directors. So if you're going to "analyze" a director, please do it deeper. And also don`t say redundant things that don`t contribute anything like: "the light represents truth". I mean, yeah, duh. Most of the times light symbolizes truth in any media. It wouldn't have been so bad if you at least had followed up with that idea, you just left it there without any connection with the rest of what you said. I don't want to come off as a troll or anything like that, I really do like this channel but I'm offering constructive criticism because I have been noticing this trend in several videos of yours.

Literally could add to this - MCU fans are confused as another trademark. Since Chris created the DCEU with his story treatment for Man of Steel and exec produced Batman v Superman. Literally all these reasons also hold true for all DCEU films. Great video.

For number 9 on the list; check out my Interstellar Playlist on my RU-vid channel. I uploaded all bonus features from the blu-ray version of Interstellar. It's amazing how, in the movie, there; were no green screens, minimum CGI, and astounding practical effects. Nolan is my favorite director, he made Interstellar my favorite movie. Oh also thanks to Hans Zimmer for creating one of the best OST.
