Rogue has always been & will ALWAYS be my favorite. A lot of people are going in on her for how she did Gambit & for letting Trask die & for going on a rampage after Gambit's death, buy the thing that endeared me to her when I 1st discovered her as a 12yr old decades ago is how HUMAN she is as a mutant. I mean, mutants are just humans with exceptional abilities, but human nonetheless. But I love that they showed how she made mistakes with Gakbit, & that she got pissed & went on a "Rampage Tour" across the world 🌎, & that she changed her allegiance from the X-Men to Magneto. All this showed how a Real person reacts to life. You notice how the rest of the X-men stayed true to Xavier, YET ☝🏾 when Rogue let Trask die --- none of them dod anything to 🛑 it cuz they, as Wolverine said, felt Trask deserved to die after all the lives HE took in Genosha. When Rogue was reading professor X for filth about failing the X-men & mutant-kind in general by trying to kiss humanity's a$$ all while humanity was giving mutant-kind their a$$ to kiss, none of the other X-men daid she was lying 🦗🦗🦗. Rogue was the 1 on the team who said what everyone else wanted to say, but was too afraid to articulate; and she was the 1 who took the actions everyone else wanted to, but was too afraid to enact. Most people say those qualities is why she wouldn't make a good leader like someone like say --- Cyclops, who ALWAYS 🙄 does the ✌🏾 right ✌🏾, i..e. "socially acceptable" thing. But sometimes to get results, a has to do what is "unacceptable" YET NECESSARY, & what Rogue did, Cyclops COULD do IF pushed far enough, but Rogue was like: "We ain't got time to wait for that to happen." I can relate to Rogue the most cuz she DOESN'T do the "right" thing most of the time --- she does what it NECESSARY & reacts as flawed --- as we ALL are --- person would. And I ♥️ her for it. But my favorite scene from this season was when Rogue finally openly grieved for Gambit (aside from when she held him in her arms right after he died) when she collapsed into Nightcrawlers' arms after he gave her that speech about how she wasn't responsible for Gambit's or Magneto's (SUPPOSED according 2 what she knew at the time) death, but that she helped them live. That wail 😭 she gave when he said that has me "SHOOK 🫨" everytime I watch it! Her voice actress BEEN deserved an Emmy 🏆 for her portrayal of Rogue. My favorite line --- IF I have to choose just 1 is just 2 ✌🏾 words: "SAME, SUGAH 😑." *as Rogue casually drops 👋🏻🙅🏻 Trask & lets him fall to his supposed death ☠️* 😆.
Scott's entire control over his powers is glasses. Charles ain't taught him anything. Rogue already knew how to wear gloves. Xavier don't teach how to control power. He just aims it.
Nah Charles has done a lot to help with their powers. The ruby shades are an invention created from the research of Mactaggert, the world's leading authority in mutant biology. Charles works hand and hand with her. Rogue is there because she's trying to figure out if she's truly a good person or if it's Captain Marvel's psyche that she drained making her good. Charles is there to unravel all the memories she's inadvertent stolen by touching others in order to find out who she really is. And in the comics, right before the Utopia and dark x-men arcs she untangled her mind resulting in full control over her powers. Not to mention living with wonder man helped.
Cable was tired of getting his hopes up. Seeing your mom die 200 times and failing is enough. Jean is the embodiment of his failure. Not that Jean was unworthy. Cable in his mind was unworthy of the comfort of family. Don't comfort me. My mom is dead. I don't deserve comfort or connections. My mom died 200 times. I don't want to love you and watch you die. The PTSD is strong in this one.
