I have recently came across your videos. I have been playing many years with a single digit handicap. Without a doubt your videos have answered (solved) many of my questions and problems. The pull down phase with left foot pressure and heel pad pressure (left hand) seems to have changed my golf swing. I have been a chronic under planer and inside to out path. I think working on pressure not positions works for me.

Hi Stuart, Manchester lad here living in South Africa Just come off a mate's tour in Cape Town, shit weather played shite. Watched this Utube clip, and bang, something i have never done, is pull down, as its taboo. like you said, it is in most sports, so 50 balls at the range, fully concentrated on this video, and felt like , what a feeling, went straight out to play , and shot 93 ,, bad score, watch video in the morning, went out and shot 78, best of the year, so one mind set , pull hard and turn. it goes straight and long. thanks Subscribed and deleted all others, your approach is easy and for the golfer who has been lead down the garden path. Regards

To pull or not to pull, that is the question! Sergio and Tiger have both spoken of ringing the bell, pulling the handle down. Bobby Clampett writes about throwing his hands at the ball. But a number of RU-vid golf instructors have claimed pulling down is harmful. Rory uses a drill with a driver and a split grip that very much looks like he's pulling down. It's beyond dispute that hand speed correlates perfectly with clubhead speed, and the sooner it rises the better. Your video points out, as many don't, that the handle pulling isn't an action in isolation when done correctly. I like your approach and will try to put it into practice.
@GoodGolfCoaching

Thanks Dan - you absolutely and must pull. Most people “don’t” pull because they “don’t” use their legs as demonstrated appropriately. If you pull you must use your legs and you “will” gain more speed and increased pressure on the golf ball. Let me know how you get on and thanks for sharing your thoughts. Best wishes Stu.

You throw the right hand down and you get the body for Free. The Body will take care of the swinging action. The left goes for a ride. Throw from the top. Best to ever play the game throw . Pulling , you can throw faster .

Good stuff. Niemann and Mito's coach talks about similar on Instagram, he explains as pressure in transition out and left with left leg, so into toe of left foot and then pushing pressure back into left heel. I think this is why his players clear the club so hard to the left as you're describing here.

Stuart - I really like how you explain a lot of what’s really happening, things that I’ve never heard elsewhere. Just watched this and the other 2 videos. As a 10 index golfer I’ve gone back and forth between swinging with all body and no hand/arm/ shoulder force, and actively applying force to the club through the hands and arms as you strongly advocate. When I use hands and arms, this eventually leads to balls going left, until I hold off, and then they go right. So then I go back to all body, which usually results in straighter, but shorter shots. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated. Thank you and sorry for being so wordy.

Your point about the body moving to the right as you pull the club to the left (rh golfer) resonates with me. There is a school of thought that golf movement is like a discus thrower, with everything moving left. But it seems to me that the impact phase of some top golfers is more like that of a hammer thrower, where the spine moves to the right (as seen from behind), thus spinning the body. Am I right at all?

Hey Stuart, loving the content. I’ve a technical question: I saw a video of a long driver who is also a very good golfer and his idea to stretch band is to only move the upper body to begin with (no lower body) and when you can’t do that further to then let the hips rotate and move everything together. Is that good sequence? Or should we be immediately starting to move pressure to the right heel, left toe in the takeaway? I tend to press into the right foot and then rotate the lower body.

@intelligentgolfperformance I have been pulling the club, mainly with my left arm, since I started playing golf. What I have been wondering and experimenting on how to use the right arm more. Even Ben Hogan wanted 3 right arms. Stuart, you give your thoughts about left versus right arm as to applying power in the golf swing?
@Precision_Golf
@Precision_Golf Год назад
As per my video - imagine pulling the cable with one arm more than the other? Wouldn't be very functional nor would you be able to load the cable as much. The one commonality with golfers is they feel this game is specific or so removed from what we must do to shift weight, in this case the club. The more we appreciate we are trying to load the muscular system the less chance we will keep consistently try to apply restriction, like trying to only use one arm in the pull phase. Hope that helps Sir 😊
@GerarddeVries
@GerarddeVries Год назад
@@Precision_Golf I hear what you are saying. When I am at the gym I do almost exactly this exercise and you are right, it is much harder to do with just one arm. You automatically use both arms if you want max speed. In my golf swing I also use both but it feels left arm dominant, like a back hand in tennis. If I try to use the right arm more in the last part of the downswing, it all goes side ways. For some context, I am 64 and hit a 7 iron 135m/ 150 yards.

So what about the technique of players like Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose, and many other pros and PGA teachers that says that your arms do nothing in the downswing , just pulled by your hips ,which are pulled by your feet and legs , the ground force . They say your arms just respond to the lower body action , from the ground up but with no pulling the arms at all as an initiation first move? As you stated here. Please , give your opinion.
@GoodGolfCoaching
@GoodGolfCoaching Год назад
I think I demonstrated in this video with great detail how the pull is essential; if I don’t pull how does the cable move? The level of which the pull occurs ultimately is dictated by many other ingredients but understanding the club has weight to it, believing your hips and legs pulls the club is truly faulty in my opinion. Hope that helps Mario! 😊

In your practice swing your hands are way out in front when you pull, but when you hit the ball the hands aren’t as far out, feel vs real?

Do you “pull” all the way through the swing, even after impact when inertia taken over ?

All i can see, your clubhead is way outside of the ball in your setup , there must be something aditionally , you do in your golfswing!?

There are plenty of elements to the golf swing, I simply discuss one of them here my friend. Watch more and all will make sense. Best wishes Stu 😊

Pulling the club from the top will cause most high handicappers to increase their grip pressure & create unwanted tension in the shoulders, arms & hands thus slowing the club thru impact. The club is swung, not pulled.
@GoodGolfCoaching
@GoodGolfCoaching 11 месяцев назад
Each to their own Mike - grip pressure is derived by poor hold and poor face alignment in the the hold. Grip the club poorly; if you load the shoulders and the club the results are catastrophic. Biomechanically and dynamically, not pulling the club makes no sense. But like I said, you’re welcome to apply your own truths. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Sir. 😊

@@GoodGolfCoaching Poor face alignment has nothing to do with grip pressure. Grip& everything else can be perfect but too much grip pressure can still exist. Sorry, I just don't understand your reasoning.

Stuart , Your actually throwing , not pulling . Pressure is on the thumbs from the feet spiraling up through the rib cage Take a golf ball in your right hand and take a backswing with the the right hand with the ball and throw it hard down on where your golf ball would be . Everything your talking about happens. You get the body for free.
@GoodGolfCoaching

Chuck, thanks for sharing your perspective. Hope you consider what you’re seeing could be different to the reality. Best wishes Stu
@maeu59

The difference with golf is the ball is on the ground so how can you throw it, you pull the handle which runs the club head into the ball.
@chuckross8839
@chuckross8839 9 месяцев назад
@@maeu59 There's no such thing IMO as a preferred right or left side dominant swing. No need to differentiate between right and left. The body works as a whole system. Ground reaction forces .

@@chuckross8839 what’s that got to do with throwing?

It has everything to do with the golf swing. Obviously your still in the pulling stages . Enjoy your journey.

31,8 kg !!?, yes because your machine was built using Imperial weights (made in USA?), 70lbs is 31,75kg. Since you live in a metric system country, I guess the supplier simply converted the weights to the first decimal 😂

Painfully boring. Pull straight down and let your turn square the club. You will hit it firm solid and with a high draw. THE proper golf move and flight. No Video NEEDED!
