I think for the long haul jacket the sizing varies depending on the fabric. My denim one in 42 measures 46 in chest and my sashiko one is 48 in chest. Also Taylor Stitch changes their sizing all the time. I believe the denim jacket in 42 measures 47 in chest now.
I bought the Long Haul Jacket in Harvest Tan Dry Wax about two months ago and sent it back immediately. It was some of the shoddiest workmanship I've ever seen on a jacket over $200. I absolutely could not believe it, considering how everyone on RU-vid seems to be such a Taylor Stitch fanboy. I'll never buy from them again. Iron & Resin, Schott NYC, Aero, and Thedi are definitely the ways to go for rugged/stylish men's outerwear.
dang, sorry to hear that. It must have been the rare lemon from them. I've never bought anything from them that was poorly made--ever. But I know it happens from time to time with anything. Maybe one day in the future you will give it a second chance! 😁
Most of their stuff is made China now. Dave's right about the sizing - it's all over the place. They have ** GREAT ** designers, super cool/unique fabrics but I think made in China you are going to lose some of the quality control. They have good return policy, and I wouldn't recommend ever buying for full price from them - wait for coupon or use your points to get at least 20% off. They are always trying new and different things so it's hard not to like them, irrespective of where the stuff is made.
@@BeastMadeReviews I guess I do as well. It keeps me from wearing it more than I should. I'm thinking of selling mine because of it and trying the flint and tinder. Have you tried that one?
@@j.johnson2792 Yeah, I really like F&T. They're definitely longer in the arms, from my experience. But they seem a little larger in general. I have a video comparing different waxed jackets (including TS and F&T). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DHmOx-KTQFQ.html
Coming to your video and seein the tobacco long haul, I’m looking to purchase it. Could you share your size, ie, height and weight perhaps to get an idea of sizing reference! Would very much appreciate it if you could. Thank you for your time.
Absolutely! I usually mention that in my videos, so my apologies if I forgot with this one. I'm 6'1" and about 175 lbs. I usually always wear a size 38 in Taylor Stitch, which usually almost always fits perfectly. I found that their Long Haul jackets vary a little bit in their size, but they do a great job at listing the measurements on the website. If you know your sports jacket or suit size, I would suggest that for your size. I wear a 38 suit, and 38 in Taylor Stitch.
Yeah, not sure if they designed the dimensions that way on purpose or if it was variance in the production process. It’s not uncommon. Since these use different materials with different thicknesses, I would expect them to be slightly different.
