Right act like we chose this. Our ancestors name, language and traditions were stripped from them. They would be killed just speak or practice anything whites saw as African or indigenous culture. It’s sad our own people who are separated by water feel like they can belittle us just to fit in America but never put anything in to our progress.

Not insulted by what you've said; however, you're giving a small synopsis of American history regarding the civil rights movement which happened in two eras but I won't go into that. What bothers us most is that black immigrants migrate to this country, they don't fully emerge themselves into African American history by studying how we've made specific contributions such as scientific inventions etc.. I can go on and on but there is no need to at this point because our black culture is rooted in historical influences known across the globe.

@@virgowoman73 I understand a bit! You are right, that as immigrants, we may be not enough knowledgeable in the history of the country we are immigrating too. But usually we grow in what's mandatory, than we learn our culture, than we learn whatever other culture or history there is based on interests. For instance, I grew up in Canada, I know way too random Canadian history stuff. Growing up, I had to look up myself my Haitian history. I happened to move to the USA, so I basically skipped all the US school curriculum. Than for fun, I looked up African history, African Americans History, Black history around the world. Than I guess, just other culture Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Brazilian history. Surprisingly, next to that all history, I had to learn engineering & business thinking to actually earn a living for my 9-5 engineering job and my 2 business. Anyway, I don't want to make it long, I'm just saying that for migrants their is a lot to learn to when moving to a new country. I know, I'm at 4, USA, Canada, Haiti & China. I think we should either have more mandatory race theory, or maybe more incentive to take optional black history, like extra credits. Another good thing is more marketing to go to black museum, I travel a lot and try to visit when I can, and they are awesome 😎!
