In our village jaggery ( gud) is prepared just by heating sugar cane juice in big iron pots without adding any thing. Yes it is sticky and black in colour.They are kept in earthen pots.

I'm a Nutrition teacher for the last 15 years. And these all are facts. Thank you very much for this 'bitter truth'. Even, when I was in my M. Sc class, we knew that jaggery and sugar are both the same. Jaggery only has a very very little amount of iron and a little less calories (367 Kcal/100gm) rather than sugar(398 kcal/100gm). BuNowadaysys it's a trend to eat jaggery rather than sugar. Please avoid both, because both of them are poison for our body. Each and every nutritional facts are very much true. Pure jaggery and desi khaand doesn't contain any chemical , don't make people fool desi gud is cleaned lady finger gum or sukhlai root gum and desi gud is black in colour , you are challenging ashtaanghridyam granth read it then comment it , desi gud/jaggery doesn't curdled milk as well it is alkaline in nature , pure raw unprocessed honey collected from beehives from trees located in jungles , villages etc is pure and very effective .
I have been doing it all wrong all my life but i still turned out to be fine most probably because i walk 5km at a stretch and i workout 5 days a week in the gym..theres no point in complaining in India when the air that u breath,the water that u drink and the food that u eat are all polluted..

After going through all health videos, i conclude that stay happy and stress free. Exercise and eat food you love. We shouldn't calculate our home-made food and eat by weighing them. It creates stress like i had too much rice or papad.. should calculate next meal and eat less. They are making food consumption as stress consumption.

I am not sure unless anyone willing to do this experiment by cooking food, do the lab test of food when it was cooked and then do the test again after 4 hours, 8 hours. I am not sure if there is anything like food science subject which can be included in school and college syllabus. Like if you agree.
No it doesnt lose any nutritinal value. The food may start getting spoilt due to temperature and microbes present in air, but the food's quality doesnt change.

I opted out daily Sugar 5 years ago. No, I am not diabetic. Switched to Stevia for coffee/milk and stopped daily tea. Now I have very little *baseload* sugar intake. So whenever I want (twice a week maybe) I can enjoy my favourite desserts. I realised that I have left sugar from daily things, but not quit having the sweet taste. So we can enjoy it occasionally. Recently my wife started her home bakery business. We make a lot of tasty desserts for everyone. We are not teachers to teach them what to have and what not to. I only tell them what I do to keep my sugar intake in check 😊.

This is stupidity. Pure stupidity, in ancient Bharat people have been eating Jaggery for ages. But no refined sugar. Now eating molasses just first step before converting to Jaggery is Amrut. Now sugar is refined product recent invention coming out of factories, hence dangerous. Now Khand natural sugar extracted by centrifugal force is also good for health because it still contains the necessary nutrients. Conclusion- anything that our forefathers were consuming is good for health. People like this come and go giving useless gyan.

Which point you don't agree or have apprehension? He's basically saying that these alternatives that people believe in, have negligible extra benefits and not worth it. Jaggery for example has lil more minerals but is equally bad as sugar. If one knows this, he'll rather control portion size instead of switching to jaggery.
It spoils quickly... Cold temperature reduces microbial activity and drying effect, so food stays good for longer duration. That's why in summer food spoils quickly than winter

Very good points. I stick to Monk Fruit and Stevia or no Sugar at all! Microwave is SHITTY sorry 😞 I rather use an Airfryer or use the hardway of sticking it back in the pot and reheat it or Saute it, depending on the Food. Or even boil it.
Microwave is great for some things and not so good for others. I'm of course a big fan of air fryers. For example, reheating rice or daal: you have a problem with using a microwave for that? In general, this point was against people claiming that microwave is bad for everything (because of cancer or some vague claim about "freshness"): they are just wrong. Agreed? -navin
