I've always wanted to share how much your song meant to me. Shortly after my spouse of 20 years died suddenly after a stroke, I was driving alone one night, crying and heartbroken. I needed comfort and found a cassette in the glove compartment [this was Oct. of 1997] and I just shoved it in and this song played. I had not heard it before and it was such a blessing and actually prophetic in my life for I remarried in April of 1998, which was totally orchestrated by the Lord, and we have been happily married for almost 25 years. We combined families, 10 children between us and we have been so blessed. I know that God used your song to comfort me through this very trying time. Thank you.

I'd like to thank you for sharing your talents and the feelings of your heart and you personal witness of our Heavenly Father's love for each of us, His children. After 6 years of separation from my wife of 27 years & 6 children, yesterday we decided that divorce is our next step. Over the last 6 years as I went through my own faith crisis, you music has been a comfort and strength to me. Three of your songs particularly have spoken to my heart, You're Not Alone, Hold On The Light Will Come, and What Part is Mine. The video you did with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints about your faith crisis was very relatable, though I didn't have to wait as long as you. Thank you for putting yourself out there and for serving and sharing of yourself. You are following the example of our Savior Jesus Christ and are a worthy and noble selfless servant. Life is really hard sometimes, but then the Light comes. Thanks for reflecting His and sharing yours.

Isn't it incredible how he wrote this song for you.... and he wrote this song for me ;) This song has been a blessing to help me through anxiety and feelings of low self worth due to a spinal cord injury that made it so I can't be the mommy I always dreamed of being ~ I'm learning that Heavenly Father made me this way for a purpose and I'm the mommy that my kids need. But when those feelings of anxiety and feeling worthless come along.... I have found that music is so incredibly healing. I've always had music in my blood, being trained as a classical pianist, and just having music in my heart and in my mind at all times... and this is one of the songs that pops right up when I need it.
I just know he wrote it for me! In an unhappy abusive marriage that ended in divorce. This song got me and my three kids through it. It became our anthem. I sang this song with the choir in my ward when I was really young, and when my granddaughters were born, I'd sing it to them, the oldest is 7 years old, and to this day, when she feels down, she asks me to sing it to her, I hold her tight and sing my heart out, sometimes squeaking here and there, but she doesn't care about that, she just feels it!! I have loved your music so much for so many years now. You are so talented. On April 18,2022, my son took his own life. He fought so hard for so many years to get away from the depression and anxiety. He died 6 weeks before his younger brother's wedding. I listen to this song and even though ours hearts are broken right now, I find comfort in the words "You're Not Alone". Even though I cry through the song every time, It gives he hope that we"ll be with him again. Right now the pain and anguish are still a big part of my days, it gives me a sense of calm that I couldn't find anywhere else. Thank you so much for your music. I believe that they come to you through the inspiration of our Father in Heaven. I'm still in a lot of pain, but it gives me some of the comfort I need to get through this nightmare.

My parents died. My dad 8 years ago, my mom 4 years ago. I heard this song last year watching Forgotten Carol's the movie. It made me bawl. I heard it going into the nursing home my mom was in before she died. I went there to see my brother. My mom's birthday was just on Friday. So I've heard this song twice when I've needed it. I was alone. In a new City, new apartament, new baby, husband away for three months for training for his new job, new state of mental health - postpartum depression, three children with chicken pox, no furniture, ants biting children while they were sleeping and I was on bed with mastitis when the mailman brought me a package with the tape of music (tapes were the thing in the 80s) written by Michael McLean title “You are not alone”, sent by my dearest friend, who is very much a mother to me. She knew what I was going through. I played that song over and over with tears always running down my face. Thing is that I still cry every time (of joy) I play it, specially when life hurts, and I get the same relief : it is true, i am not alone because GOD IS WITH ME specially then, when life hurts. Thank you for sharing your talents! Years ago, three friends and I in Vermont learned this as a quartet and shared it with friends as we’d go to visit. On many occasions, I recall singing it to a friend paralyzed physically but with a sharp mind. The music connected our hearts and invited a peacefulness into her hospital room.
