Vulpix is my second favorite Kanto Pokémon so I always chose Blue whenever I wanted to play Gen 1.

Not going off stats or how the Pokemon do in the gen, but I prefer the Red version exclusives. Scyther, Arcanine, Primeape and Electabuzz is a tough selection to beat and the only version exclusive Blue has that I wish was also in Red, is Magmar.

it is honestly crazy just how overpowered Wrap can be, especially on pokemon that can learn Toxic AND leech seed, that is one brutal combo because how leech seed interacts with toxic, the life steal also gets the poison damage from toxic if my memory is working.

Great video Looking forward to this series 4:43 but wouldn't Ninetales higher Speed and Special Stat make it better with attacking first and stronger with fire attacks?

True, but Arcanine hits far harder than Ninetales and, IMO, offense in Fire types is more important than Defense. I still like them both equally, however, since Ninetales is also pretty looking and fast.

⁠@@JulesHinmonArcanine suffers a lot in Gen 1 because fire is locked to Special and it has far higher Atk. You’d be better off with Ninetails.

This was a good video and I like the exclusive Pokemon from both games and I play Pokemon Red.

I'd play Pokémon Yellow but if we're not counting that I would go with Blue because its my favorite color and I love the Squirtle line

Red has: Electabuzz, Scyther, Vileplume, Primeape (Unless would rather use a Hitmon, which you can get either of in both) and Arcanine. That’s +5 for Red. Blue has: Persian, Sandslash and Ninetales. That’s +3 for Blue. Overall, Red has the better exclusives set, IMO, but I love playing Blue because you can get the Sandshrew and Meowth lines there and I love those lines.

Well.... Scyther is pretty useless though. Its get outshone by the other flying types (Except for Farfetch'd and it doesn't get any flying moves either until Yellow) and its a Bug type as well. Looking at the lvl up movesets as well, Scyther only gets Quick Attack (Which is pretty useless late game) and Slash as attacking moves. Pinisir however, gets ViceGrip, Seismic Toss and Slash. Looking at the TM usage of both, they are similair (Both learn Take Down and Double-Edge, but honestly, why would you run Take Down over Slash), but Pinsir can also learn Submission, which Scyther can't. Another thing Pinsir has over Scyther, is that it is able to learn 2 HM's (With Cut and Strenght), over Scythers Cut (However, at the point you obtain them in the game, Cut is pretty useless already and one of the early mons you have caught probably knows the move already). Primeape is pretty underwhelming in gen 1, especially compared to Hitmonchan (Who can learn the elemental punches, which means you aren't required to have a Fire/Electric/Ice type on your team since Hitmonchan can deal with that.

@@nickdentoom1173 Yeah, but the Elemental punches were Special then and Hitmonchan’s Special Attack is awful, plus Primeape’s Speed is far better than Hitmonchan’s.

Most of the time, I play the first title of the pair since I commonly play both versions anyways. That is until Violet. Id prefer to ride on my futuristic tron bike lizard than a prehistoric giant lizard.

Gold, Ruby, Leaf Green, Diamond, Heart Gold, White, White 2, Y, Omega Ruby, Sun, Ultra Sun, Sword, Brilliant Diamond, It's a tough time, but I like the past forms better so Scarlet

I picked Pokemon Blue back then simply because of the color, I'm more of a cold color person (and blue is one of them), and Blue does have some cool version exclusive that I like (Magar, Victreebel. and Ninetails) and that line-up is based on Green's line up (and Green is my favorite color), but Red has the overall better exclusives for me (Arcanine, Arbok, Electabuzz and Scyther) on top of Charizard (my favorite Gen 1 starter) as the mascot. So overall both games are really tied for me, but I'm still gonna stick to Blue, it has still a slight advantage for me.

I'd still play red because I still own it. I didn't have a choice as a kid between which version I got as I think my brother chose first or our parents chose for us, so I was given pokemon red. Personally I prefer Growlithe over Vulpix, though I do like Vuplix the former is still my favorite of the two...
