Sorry to disagree but no. The original was an integral part of the biggest selling album by a woman artist of all time. The Petersens did a lovely job but they are still a cover band. It will always be a Shania Twain song. She wrote it and sold it.

As part of our 55th anniversary celebration, we drove to Branson just to see them, and hear them in person. We requested that Ellen sing this to us. The family dedicated it to our love and sang it to us in person. This was a bucket list item for us and our over half century of loving each other. I play the mandolin as a hobby, and love Their music. This family is the real deal of the Bluegrass music family. Talent, brains, beauty, and genuine American. Ellen Haygood’s outstanding vocal delivery here reminds us that she could have had a highly successful solo career had she wanted. Whatever personal reasons Ellen had for choosing her current path, fwiw I think her voice makes far more sense musically/artistically within the context of her family and friends. And not needing to be the ‘big star’ in the group shows a level of spiritual freedom that is an example to us all.

My wife and I will celebrate our 60th Anniversary this August 12 th. Our 3 daughters, grandsons and 2 granddaughters will be here early on July 30 to celebrate early. Wow, listen Emmett´s dobro-riff in 3:11! That´s cool! I am not normally focussed on dobro, but IMHO Emmett is one of the best dobro-players in the world and his feeling and sound are amazing.

I’m relatively new to listening to The Peterson’s. Wow. Wow. Tremendous vocal and strings harmonization. Such happy and amazing talents. I love the weaving of their voices and instruments. Hearing and enjoying them is a godsend.

I've always loved this song, and I heard it playing the other day while I was waiting in A&E with an injured leg. That decided me to add it to the numbers I play live at open-mic etc. This is a gorgeous arrangement - perfect balance of classy instrumentation and beautiful harmonies. The dobro playing takes it to the next level for me. 😎
