I mean, it never really went away, it just got really, really played out. Bands pretty much exhausted all the potential with it, much like the same happened with melodic death metal itself. Of course it still sounds great, and I think it is pretty much my perfect incarnation of 'metal music', but it's just very hard to grab people with it anymore and produce something that stands out. Lots of bands still doing it, it's just not getting the popularity it used to.
@@maynardburger yep, this type of metalcore is VERY distinctive and this is one of the main reasons why some genres just die out or evolve into something very different with only few traces of the OG genre.
Beautiful track Alex! I especially like the first 2 riffs, very melodic, quite different from your usual style, I'd love to hear more similar in that stye.
At this 1:30 point you might consider letting the song breathe. What I mean by that is. More chords and less staccato. You've got an amazing melody covered by the palm-muted riff. Let that melody shine on top and then keep the attacking with the palm muted riff. The riffs are awesome you just need to play a little bit with the structure of the song. Keep the awesome work!
Alex, your compositions as always are fantastic! On this one I would really like a bit more bass. You have wonderful melodies and counterpoint underneath the main riffs but you explore even more sonic areas if the bass was more audible. Excellent as always and definitely not the same old anything. It is a breath of fresh air yet again.
Metalcore and melodeath are basically the same instrumental, it's just the first one is diagonal mane, painted nails and wrist cuts, the other is cargo shorts, untrimmed beard and suspicion towards brown people
Nah, of course metalcore is melodeath for like 70%, but metalcore is really diverse. Some bands in this genre are closer to groove metal/hardcore, others to trash and heavy metal.
Badass !!! And on a 6 string??? What are you dropped too??? C??? I run an RG through a Spark with the new powered XLR cab. Main choice is ENGLS??? Wicked tone, about 10,000 more, 5150s of course, Dark Star and Plexis. Been working on the wammy drops? Thomas Holland? Think is his name?
