What do verses, choruses, intros, and outros have in common? They're not BREAKDOWNS. Here's a video of just the breakdowns. Which genre does it better? You be the judge! #Metalcore #Guitar #Riffs #Deathcore #Breakdowns
Deathcore is more stank face but metalcore breakdowns are fun to dance to on occasion. Ik that sounds weird but my favorite kind of breakdowns are groovedowns. So fun to nod your head to. Great video bro! Love options you picked!
same. not a fan of the recent Lorna Shore breakdowns that seem to be just either pure speed or with gutturals and vocals that seem to be the trend in deathcore 2022. I prefer the type of breakdown in WCAR and BoS Darkbloom (1st breakdown of the song, not the outro breakdown). In short, August Burns Red breakdowns
true but i feel its also subjective cuz a lotta the time metalcore breakdowns put me to sleep and i struggle to find anh interesting groove but deathcore always keeps me entertained and is more fun to bop to for me. as i write this comment i was still listening to the metalcore then started naturally nodding along to the deathcore
The one thing I actually enjoy about Pantera which a lot of bands took from them, adding grooves to metal, especially a breakdown with a massive groove!
Awe mannn, you played the riff to Death Roll, but the breakdown is so mf good!! there’s so much to unpack with it and it’s an adventure all in itself!!!
This video shows that breakdown quality is more dependent on the artist and than the genre. Though a lot of those deathcore breakdowns are fucking SICK
Don't listen to metalcore really, but I feel that their breakdowns, at least here, are a bit better cause there's that rhythm and roughness of the breakdown complemented by all these really nice harmonic bits, whereas the breakdowns of deathcore (presented here) are much more singular
IMO And Hell Followed With's Proprioception album has some of the nastiest breakdowns of all time. Oceano and The Acacia Strain would've been cool to see too. Regardless fuckin awesome content as always ✌🏻
The lead up to the breakdown in Pandora Joe screaming ALL IS CALM BUT THEN COMES THE KILLING!!! Is so good and the breakdown that follows makes me want to fight a gorilla lol
Remember hearing the breakdown in these colors dont run for the first time while prepping for dinner rush at work. I remember looking over at my buddy who let me hear it from his phone like DUDE.
The two genres were a bit easier to distinguish in the past years, imo. Take for example the breakdowns from Blessthefall's "His last Walk" album (for those who want to skip the rest, listen to "A message to the Unknown", "Guys like you make us look bad" - the ending of the track, "Rise up"...). Or some All that Remains ("This calling" - there are vocals but what guitars play is a breakdown), Asking Alexandria's "A prophecy".
I wish there were more bands out there FFAA, for me they have the perfect mix of GROOVE and DEATHCORE out there.. And I think thats because of their drummer and the guitar players, they mix so so well together... Couldnt get into their last albums but ABSOLUTE HOPE, ABSOLUTE HELL is still a massive album...
The thing about Metalcore and Deathcore from someone who loves both: Metalcore usually feels somber, in a way, it lets you deal with the pain while deathcore is angry and allows you to deal with your anger. At least that's how I interpret it. And of course, you can headbang, mosh and groove to both of them.
That breakdown of thy art is murder is nasty. I love it. But I feel like a metalcore breakdown hits harder because as someone else pointed out, a metalcore song isn’t that heavy to begin with.
metalcore breakdowns, depending on the band, like Wage War fucking hits hard same with INK. Like any band that can go from BREOOOOOOO to *angelic voice*, then theres DEATHCORE. like deathcore is just yk the breakdown genre. they have the heavier breakdowns (Slaughter to the Prevail, Brand of Sacrifice), the more stank and headbangable ones. personally both genres have their ups and downs but i have to go with deathcore since Demolisher was the first breakdown i listened to.
to me (this is subjective) metalcore just sounds like some guys throwing random notes together and calling it a breakdown most of the time, at least with bands like infant annihilator, brand of sacrifice, etc. are actually talented and can play more than a couple random notes
Depends what you’re there for. Deathcore in particular has a lot of the gnarliest vocals over the breakdowns and that’s exactly why the guitar parts are simple in those places. But if you feel there are no interesting or complex guitar parts or arrangements in the genre then you’re listening to the wrong deathcore bands for your taste.
@@lizzieg8014 Used to listen to a lot of metal but can’t listen to it anymore, a lot of it just blends together (similar riffs, used to like metal vocals but find them super boring because there’s only so much you can do with them, never liked breakdowns even when I loved metal, mixing in most metal is overly compressed and does not go together, may as well has no bassist because you can never hear it). Only metal bands I can still listen to today is Polyphia, Periphery, and some All Shall Perish.
Yeah I wanna listen to something that sounds all boxed in to a subgenre!....Said the sheep of metal. Meanwhile other bands are just doing whatever they want. 😆.
