Hey man i just strayed across your channel, checked a few of your vids out. This Ibanez what a beauty guitar, but bro! Bro! protect that guitar, cover it up when soldering, and keep the tools off the finish, a solder burn or scratches will destroy that beauty. Cheerz n Beerz
So, it would've been Really Cool if you had done a 'before' part where we hear the stock pickups demo'd for a point of comparison. I have the AM73B, which is essentially just the same guitar, with the same stock pickups, but with vol and tone control for each. My point is that your guitar, after your PU upgrade, still sounds identical to my guitar.
thanks! i was toying with the idea of taking the covers off cos they were a bit muffled, but i raised them and that seems to have done the trick! i may still go for raw nickel covers at some point because they take less top end off, and i really love the vintage-ish look of them! thanks again, for watching :))) PS i am currently drinking a biiiig cup of tea
Don't want to scratch it to get the washer off. Gotta wait to till you're fishing wire out. Then when you put the pliers down. Then when desoldering the pot. And the switch. All the pliers. I was waiting for hot solder to fall on the body. 😬😬😬 Staaaahhhhppp! Put some masking tape down or something! 🤦♂️
no it wouldn't, the scale length, construction methods and hardware means this is just a very different animal. you could add coil splits with 4 wire humbuckers, but if it's not a strat, it ain't a strat
So there's enough room for the covered pickups? I was wondering if you needed to do any routing for the new covers . Thinking about putting a GFS Humbucker p90 or something.
the pickups are from partscaster dot com, but i'm about to replace them for irongear blues engines as i find the PC ones are quite unclear. the bridge and tail are toneprose just because i already had them. I just put a bigsby copy on this guitar so i've ordered a roller bridge for epi 335 from northwestguitars. these guitars are great bases, but imo the hardware lets them down
@@BadMotivator66 yes just google hoc 112 and there made by artec for ibanez artec are the biggest pickup maker i would say there pickups are good enough to rely on
The only time I use my bridge PU is when Im rockin with the crunch. If Im playing clean then Im using neck or middle. I actually really like the stock bridge PU on my AM73B, but I Really Don't like the sound of the neck PU. Thinking strongly about going to either Seth Lover, Antiquity, or maybe even SD Jazz.
